There is no "up and down." This place is a labyrinth designed by someone who said, "What if we hid Narnia behind every dresser?" I got lost at least three times. Possibly four. Hidden alcove. Side quest unlocked. Then on another visit in another locked glass case there she sat.... This gorgeous Sweden " Strombergshyttan " crystal vase of a girl holding a bird cage, underneath the vase is signed & numbered. Yes I basically walked away with a steal, my husband had to tell me to stop smiling! I just love this store, there's such a large selection to choose from for all tastes out there! Mind you it's not in that fancy zip code but do not let that discourage you because sometimes when you drive out of those zip codes that's where's there'll be some extra treasures lingering around!

The vibe is very retro and appealing. It would be easy to have an antique shop that is just a cluster of old and dirty items strewn about, but this isn't the case at Atomic Age Modern. Everything is clean and intriguing. At the storefront are various retro and antique items, and in the back of the shop is a small boutique area to pursue. There is also a large collection of well maintained vinyl records towards the center of the shop. The rest of the store walls are lined with a couple dozen pinball machines. There are all sorts of themed machines from 007, to Jaws, to D&D, etc. You can get quarters for play from the front desk/check out desk. The pinball manchjnes range from $0.50 to $1.00 to play There was one person working when we were there, and I belief they were talking to another patron, but I don't get any sort of greeting or "how can I help," but I also didn't get the vibe that they were particularly unfriendly Some tips: If you think you're a pinball wizard, check out their Facebook page because they host tournaments monthly.
