This is the first time we ordered food here and was hoping for a good Asian cuisine but what we just had was just excellent! We ordered Katsudon and red curry, both were incredible! The red curry had tender, buttery chicken and was a little spicy, but not too much. It had a subtle sweetness and is an amazing comfort food. After many recommendations by my co-workers and based on all the reviews, I finally dropped in to order some food. Now I don't know if it's because I've been eating grocery food for the past month, but everything from this place was amazing. I ordered the classic general t'so chicken and lo mein and a whole lot of sushi. Let me tell you guys, the sushi here is fantastic...I saw some reviews about the cheapness of their rice and quality so I wasn't expecting much but I definitely did not see cheapness when I ordered. The rolls had a generous amount of rice and the fish was fresh, overall I'd say this restaurant is not cheap in its ingredients so I don't know what the other review was talking about...Not only is their sushi extremely good, their chinese options are also above average. As soon as I found out that East Sushi was back open for business, I immediately called and ordered (let's be real we're sick of cooking). The service was good, brief and the food was prepared quickly with good quality. We mainly ordered sushi which was really fresh with high quality rice. Their general tso chicken is another one of my favorites. This restaurant really went above and beyond in their set up, they have this whole plastic barrier system and a box contraption where your food comes out in...really interesting but most importantly safe. This is a really high quality sushi restaurant with Chinese and Thai options that are good too. The shrimp lovers roll and and any of their rolls with fresh mango in it is my favorite!! Everything seems really fresh. Their sesame chicken is flavorful as is their green Thai curry, which comes loaded with vegetables and the meat of your choice if you choose a meat. My only complaint about this place is that the sushi rolls are on the small side. Definitely not enough to fill you up if you were to order just one. read more

I am surprised my best take out sushi occurred in Ewing, NJ as opposed to my hometown of Chicago. I was traveling on business and staying in a hotel and was huuuungry. Typically, I think take-out sushi never tastes good so I was cautious. East Sushi does a great job. Here's the run down: 1. House salad with ginger dressing. Mmmm....great ginger! 2. Sweet Heart Roll - AWESOME. I ate the whole thing 3. Beef Lo Mein - I ordered this in case the sushi was terrible. The Lo Mein was super tasty and although I was full on the roll and salad, I still managed to eat a few bites. The woman taking my order and the delivery guy were super nice. It's better than most of the sushi options in the Ewing area. They offer very good sushi, Japanese and Chinese cuisine and pretty affordable prices. Plenty of seating, and the service is fair. I'm proud to say this is my hometown sushi bar. I've been coming here for years and with good reason. This is the freshest fish, that I know of, within a 50 mile area. They have a great selection of chef rolls with all kinds of interesting flavor combinations. But I mainly stick to their nigiri. I just can't see covering up such fresh product with a whole bunch of sauce. The owner Tony is very personable and can usually be found chatting with a customer or just overseeing operations. You can tell he takes pride in providing a quality experience for his patrons. Some of the same staff have been serving me for a long time and get high marks in my book for service. Other reasons to like this place? Their Chinese food is stellar, the restaurant has been recently renovated, and it's BYOB!!! I wanted to try the Red curry since the restaurant served a combination of Japanese, Thai and Chinese. I ordered the food to go! The Chicken Red curry was so bland I couldn't eat it. The chicken had a weird texture to it. I couldn't eat it. I also ordered the Spicy Shrimp sushi roll. It was ok. Next time I will stick to what the restaurant is known for. Very good and fresh food. Nice clean decor on the inside. Ordered shrimp tempura for an appetizer which was very good. Then for dinner had a Firecracker and Godzilla roll. I really enjoyed both rolls. 2 rolls was more than enough for one person to eat. I was satisfied and stuffed at the end of the meal. They greet you at the door and your food comes fast, good and hot. 4 stars given for the slight language barrier we had and instead of sushi rolls on my Bento box I got sushi pieces. I've gotten take-out shushi from East Sushi many times. It is close to my office, and I think it's better than the other nearby option in Ewing. I usually get the spicy tuna roll. While it's not the best I've ever had (could have less sauciness and more tuna), it's pretty good at a reasonable price, and I keep returning for more! I've also had: Fried Pork Dumplings (Gyoza) - seemingly fresh-made, chock-full-'o-pork, and only slightly fried, which I like. Spicy Salmon - as with the spicy tuna, the spicy salmon roll is pretty typical and fairly decent. Sashimi All Tuna & Sashimi Trio (tuna, salmon, yellowtail) - nice fresh fish. I've had other hand rolls, but I can't remember specifically what they were. I do remember that they've all been pretty good though. They have great deals, such as their bento box lunch and dinner deals. And sushi is not all they have. You can also get some good hot fresh Chinese food as well.
