a bowl of sushi and rolls

Ordered takeout tonight. Almost $60 for small portions and mediocre food. $20 for a bento box, $16 for an angry salmon special roll that was small and not special at all. Shrimp Pad Thai for $17 had TWO shrimp and a small portion. I think I'm done with this place.

The ginger dressing on the house salad was the best I've ever had. I would return just for that item specifically. Spring rolls are vegetarian, came out hot and crispy. The seaweed salad inside of veggie roll was a little over powering IMO, I'm friend loved it! The broccoli was not overdone and had a wonderful crunch, garlic sauce was delightful too. Our server was great and helpful. We were recommended the sweet potato roll which was a huge hit! Inside is clean with plenty of seating

East Sushi Boat (For 2)

Surely recommend a sushi boat for 2 with good quality of sushi and rolls and good price.

Bill for a birthday dinner for 2, plus salmon sashimi to go for our cat!

Yes, East Sushi is your cliche "hole in the wall, I'll spare you an attempt at being clever and will refrain from penning a haiku about it. We came here for my girlfriend's 30th birthday as her selection (a friend of hers spoke very highly of it) and she seemed to be satisfied with everything. The service from server Stephanie was attentive and thoughtful, water was refilled without asking and she even carried over the handwritten daily specials chalkboard for us to peruse. Parking is a cinch, as it's in a strip mall. The food was good, but slightly overpriced in my opinion. As with many Asian restaurants, the lunch specials are a much better value. An appetizer of 4-5 dumplings with a bite of pork inside of each, a few rolls and 2 sashimi orders (3 pieces to an order) came to $60. The quality of everything seemed fine and was a notch above the place closest to us on the south side of Bordentown. Being BYOB, we brought some nice white wine for her to imbibe while I drank a couple Heineken 0.0's. If you want a fake beer that actually passes for real when you're the DD, I highly recommend it! We didn't try dessert, the soups, or any of the soft drinks. Typically I enjoy green tea and I imagine theirs would be good, as I saw others drinking it. They also keep the place clean: one table full of unruly small children left behind a trash hurricane which was promptly attended to when they departed. It's also easy on/off 295 exit 73b, which is a plus. This isn't my favorite style of cuisine, but I'd come back to East Sushi if the occasion presented itself.

Spicy Salmon Roll

I've never had minced salmon before and there isn't anything spicy. Definitely not the best. The Chicken seemed to be an afterthought in Thai basil, because I have more chunks of pepper than anything else.

Wonton Soup, or soggy slop surprise?
Chrissy C.

The wonton soup was a soggy old confetti. There were no nicely formed wontons. very disappointing Everything else was pretty good.

Naoki Sushi Dining

This place is small and intimate with only 8 sushi bar seats and 8 table seats. A great vibe and ambiance to watch your sushi chef expertly prepare your meal. Unfortunately, a couple decided to bring their small children that were talking very loudly and had occasional screams. There is a place and time to bring your kids dining and fine dining isn't one of them. Our favorite appetizer was the chanwanmushi! They packed so much umami into such a small dish and the texture of the egg was like silken tofu. My husbands favorite piece of nigiri was the otoro as the tuna was so fatty and just melted in your mouth. Mine was the uni spoon which was a small dish of uni, ikura, caviar, and rice. The hand rolls were a highlight too! After the 6 courses are done you're able to order ala carte and I'm so glad I got an ikura hand roll. Service is impeccable and everyone was very kind and thoughtful. Overall a great experience and an omakase spot we would come back to.

I'm so glad I decided to make a last-minute reservation online before we got there, because we took the last seating for 12pm (so make that reservation! But also be aware of their cancellation policy!) As soon as we opened the door, we felt like we were being transported back to our honeymoon in Japan. The staff was friendly and accommodating to the car seat we had our daughter in. We both loved the nigiri lunch set and thought the quality was excellent and well worth the $40 value.

Poke Ocean - Son's eel and spicy tuna burrito w/eel sauce. (Mine not pictured tuna and salmon w/poke and spicy sauces.) Both different but delicious.

Inside were shrimp shumai, gyoza, Chili Korean Bao, a two-protein poke burrito stuffed with crab meat and spicy tuna, plus a spicy tuna roll and a spicy scallop roll. This is more food than any two people strictly need, which is one of civilization's finer achievements. The good news: nothing was bad. Not a single bite asked to be forgiven. The shrimp shumai were the clear overachievers: plump, warm, and reassuring, like a friendly lecture from someone who actually did the reading. The spicy scallop roll was their equal, delivering that perfect balance of heat and sweetness that makes you briefly optimistic about the future of humankind. The poke burrito was ambitious, a bold little manifesto wrapped in rice and seaweed. Crab meat and spicy tuna got along just fine, though the whole affair leaned more toward "good" than "revelation." The spicy tuna roll was solid and dependable, like a Midwestern uncle who always shows up on time. The gyoza and Chili Korean Bao did their jobs honorably, though neither demanded a standing ovation. Everything arrived intact, flavorful, and prepared by people who seemed to care, always a comfort in an indifferent universe. Four stars, then, because perfection is suspicious and because it's nice to leave something to strive for tomorrow.

My son thought the portion could have been bigger, but I think it was cause it was so tasty he wanted more. 5 stars! Service was good in that the place was absolutely empty and they did take my order quickly. That said, at most build your own places. They'll provide like a checklist you can mark and since I was ordering for 2 people that would have been helpful. 4 stars Ambiance had something to be desired. I'd very much recommend ordering takeout. The place inside was actually very nice and had a good vibe... but there was an overwhelming chemical smell that I could have never been able to eat around. The good news is that it was definitely from some sort of cleaning product. Disinfectant? Bleach? Degreaser? Sanitizer? So from a cleanliness perspective, im reassured that they are thorough. From an appetizing perspective. Not so much. 2.5 stars Summary: I'd definitely order take out from here again in a minute.

Yes, it's perfectly fine to make those loud slurping noises to show your appreciation for a great bowl of ramen. Here's what was ordered: - Signature Terakawa Ramen - 4.5/5 stars Boasted of rich, lovingly homemade pork bone soup with a good amount of sliced roast pork, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, ginger, scallions, and a jammy egg. The straight thin noodles were al dente. They maintained their texture in the broth, brilliantly. The broth was deep and flavorful. - Pork belly Donburi - 4.5/5 stars The juicy tender pork belly was plentiful, sliced perfectly as their we're not too thick nor paper thin. Their flavor was rich, savory with a balance of sweetness from the soy dashi sauce. Elegantly layered in top of a humongous bowl of seasoned rice, along with a sprinkle of scallions, pickled radishes, and sesame seeds. The photo on their menu does not do it justice. I would have loved a jammy egg to be included to bring the dish to the next level. - Gyoza - 3.5/5 stars 5 pieces of Pan-fried gyoza dumplings with their dumpling sauce. I would prefer them to have been fried a bit more. The balance between their pork and cabbage was even. They were delightfully light in both taste and texture. The service was very good. Both Willie, the owner, and a charming waiter named Sung served us. Sung kept coming over checking in to attest our cups were full, and if we needed anything else. I was told the have two locations: Philadelphia and the one we're dining at, Princeton Junction, NJ. Both locations serve homemade recipes from the Kumamoto region of Japan. If ramen is your love language, this place will absolutely speak to your soul.

We were seated promptly at our reservation time. The restaurant itself gives standard hibachi vibes, with grills, big tables that seat about 8 people and the expectation that you're going to be seeing shrimp tails flying into hats or the hibachi chef starting an onion volcano. Unfortunately, the vibe felt very flat once we realized there would be no show of anything due to the restrictions of the other family seated at our table. *FOOD* The quality of the food was just okay. With the hibachi dinners, in addition to your selection of a main, usually comes with a soup, salad, shrimp appetizer and ice cream. However, the food wasn't memorable where I need to run back here. *SERVICE* Our waitress was very attentive and did a great job of explaining things as it was our first time there. There is a 18% service charge for parties of 2 or more and you get a 3% discount if paying in cash. For the price and expectations of a hibachi steakhouse, I was hoping for a better overall experience. While I understand accommodating certain restrictions of other parties, it was frustrating that this meant the entire table missed out on the experience without any prior warning or alternative option that should've been mentioned to us before we sat down. Overall, hibachi is as much about the show as it is about the food and missing that really took away from the experience. Combined with the average food, I probably would not return.
