Its an East side Mario's, if that's your thing have at it. I've never been a fan of paying $15 for a bowl of pasta that I can make at home for the same price and feed 4 people. If I'm buying a pasta dish it better knock my socks off and East sides definitely fails to do this consistently. More of a 3.5 star. Came here on a Saturday night around 6:30pm as group of 7: 4 adults and 3 kids between 5 & 13. Service was good, food was ok: garden salad was quite heavy on the dressing. Quite impressed with the kids' dessert as the strawberry ice cream tasted like frozen homemade jam! If we are in town again, we would consider returning here for a meal or two. I think it helped that we called and gave the restaurant a heads up of our arrival (size of group) etc. read more

This place is a lot like Olive garden, but slightly nicer. The server was friendly and tried to make sure all were happy and taken care of, but seemed a little stretched thin. It helps this place that there isn't much better in the area. One bonus star was added for the mega beer stines. The food was good and a relief from hotel food. It tasted like refrigerated tortellini bought at a grocery store. The ran out of soup, so most of us had salad. read more

This restaurant in Alliston, ON is horrible. I like east side Mario's normally this is the first time I've experienced everything horribly. This location, had horrible service 0/5 (zero out of five). We came in for the all you can eat pasta, soup salad/bread. We ask our server 7 or 8 times to bring us more bread or soup with a reply of "right away" then never brought us anything. I can only speculate that this location doesn't want to lose money by giving away all you can eat bread, soups/salad. We even flagged a different server and asked for additional bread with it never reaching our table. Crap service. I'll never eat at the Alliston,ON location again. NE June 23rd, 2019 - at the request of Carlos the manager, I re visited this location with my GF. The difference was night and day. Haven't been to east side Mario's in a while but since it's always been my sons favourite spot we decided to stop by on our way home from shopping. While ordering a pasta dish they informed us they didn't have any green peppers which is odd considering that's a common ingredient. When we all got our dishes (pasta) the noodles were under cooked. It was bland and the portion sizes were also smaller than I remember. We got the bread before hand which was good but the Italian wedding soup we normally get had little to no pasta in it, and the soup had wayyyyy too much salt in it. Once we waited 30 minutes for the next batch it was less salty but we were already full. The waitress was sweet and friendly but couldn't remember anything we asked for. The kids menu says it comes with a toy - they also did not have any of those. Overall this place is lacking huge ... very disappointing. Not sure if I'll ever be back. read more

I really enjoyed my Valentine's dinner date at East Side Mario's. Yes, I went to East Sides on Valentine's Day and yes, it was my choosing. Here's why... East Sides hits a soft spot in me where they can really do no wrong. It's a treat to come because I love their unlimited bread and caesar. My date and I often binge on the starters and take our pasta to-go. Shh, it's our little secret! I ordered the chicken tetrazzini and my date ordered his usual cheese cappelletti. It's always a hit food wise, this location included. I have yet to return a dish or throw my nose up at an item because it's hard to get it wrong. I tried the bocconcini stix and they were delicious. Very gooey and cheesey and crunchy. Our server was friendly and helpful. She popped by our table enough that it wasn't overwhelming or underwhelming. The whole family came out for a get together (about 10 of us) and were seated together comfortably. Out orders were all correct, our drinks stayed filled, and the unlimited garlic bread kept coming. With a group of more than 3 or 4, I'd say that reflects on a good server. Food is tasty and a decent size. No serving is so big nor price so low that you should run here for your next meal. Its your average chain restaraunt/bar. Your average Italian food. But there's unlimited garlic bread. So bonus points for that. read more

Has gone downhill since it first opened. The skill in cooking food isn't there and I think they've cheaped out on ingredients. Seafood Alfredo used to be good but now? My pasta was undercooked and then was left at the pass under the heatlamp - came out dry. Wife has salmon and whoever cooked it should apologize to the fish for sacrificing its life for such a bland and bad seasoned ending. read more

Four of us went to the ESM in Alliaton today, mother's day. At 5pm it was busy but they only had two wait staff on. There was a sign in the restaurant section that said half prices apps between 3-6pm. So we ordered two. At the bottom of the sign it said in the bar only but from our table we couldn't see the bottom of the sign, there was a large about 1.5 foot gap between the 1/2 price apps and the only in the bar. This was very misleading and I feel very cheated. Our waitress didn't point this out when we ordered them. Very disappointed. read more

This is my 3rd time at East side's and the atmosphere is great here. We sat down and within minutes had our drinks and the fresh bread served to us. The service was very fast with our free soup and salad with our entree's following right after. The server was very nice and followed up with his every so often. I will come back here again :) read more

Went for a family friendly dinner after the show and I'd have to say I'm almost embarrassed I ate here. Almost inedible. Clueless staff.

Worst service I have ever had. 1) Waited 10 minutes for a waitress to come and ask us for our drink order. 2) She brought us 2 glasses of water 10 minutes after that. 3) Brought us ''unlimited'' salad and bread, no hot peppers and extremely limited salad stuff... i.e tomatoes, olives, onions, croutons 4) Ordered Chicken Parm... Somehow got fish? 5) She asked then if we wanted more salad but her tone told me that she didn't want to have to bring us more 6) Instead of apologizing for bringing us the wrong meal she blamed Dalton Stocco for ordering it wrong... 7) Our second salad was brought to us this time with NOTHING but lettuce and we FINALLY got our extra dressing that we asked for with the first salad. 8) Our dinner was FINALLY brought to us, I ran out of water and at no point was our table checked on so I didn't get another glass of water until my meal was nearly finished and that was only because I made a hand gesture at which point and finally noticed we were still at the restaurant. She came over and we ordered more water, she said she was going to get it, and when I looked over my shoulder she ignored us completely and kept cleaning the table... 9) After we finished our meal, we waited for 25 minutes to be brought our bill, no dessert, or coffee was offered. 10) Even after waiting the 25 minutes we had to leave without getting our bill because she still wouldn't stop talking to her co-worker.. been to the eastside Mario's a few times but because my wife and step daughter like it. For me they suck didn't like their food and service was slow they forgot us as well to bring us water and 20 minutes to get out a bill no desert was offered. Both times ive been there i left very hungry as their food sucks.. for me that eastside Mario's hàs got the worst food of any restaurant ive ever been too in my life alliston eastside Mario's. If I could have done negative stars then I would have. This is probably the worst East Sides I've ever been to. We were in town from Ottawa visiting family and decided to head out for dinner but that was apparently a mistake. We were seated right away but took a long time to get drinks and appetizers. Roughly an hour after we still hadn't been served our mains then finally after complaining a bit we asked for a manager. To my surprise a teenager came to the table and said he was the manager. We then requested the owner but he refused to come out front. No doubt he was embarrassed by his own establishment. It's overall the worst experience I've had at a east side marios ever. read more

We started off ok, sat down ordered our meal. Everything was going well. It wasn't busy so I don't know why we waited 40 min after ordering for our meal to come. I ordered the turkey club, it had a lettuce was from a mixed bag of salad you can buy from the grocery store with cut up carrots in it. It had one small tomato and the thin turkey slices that were out of a bag, also purchased from a grocery store. My fries looked old and reheated as well. We then had to ask another waitress for refills and then waited another 10 min after we finished for our own waitress to ask us for the bill. This place is terrible and I recommend never going to the Alliston location. I could have made a better meal from straps in the garbage. read more

We visit East Sides anywhere from 2 to 4 times a month. Been going there long enough to have had great service & not so great service. I feel sorry for those folks who get those servers that are just passing through. As I've said before about the bar/restaurants in Alliston, they all suffer from time to time with manager, kitchen staff or wait staff turnover. It's a shame as overall it's a decent place to take the family out. There's always a group seating whenever we're there, so they can be busy. If I've had 20 meals there, I've probably had 3 poor ones. One thing that bothers me is everytime we go with the kids, get two kids meals, we get charged $2.98 EACH extra for the root beer they order even though it comes with their meal. I always have to point this out & I always get the "computer error or root beer isn't included, etc." debate before it's resolved....sigh. It's been 3 years Mario, sort it out would ya ? That being said, there's always some coupon or offer in the mail or in the local paper to be had and we use them all the time. Where do I begin , this is my first yelp/review. East Side Marios , a very basic restaurant with items you expect to be fairly routine. Recently I had a craving for spaghetti and meat balls , I decided to go to East Side Marios for lunch. I looked at the menu and went with what I desired , the spaghetti and meat balls a classic item I thought would be prepared well and with ease as well as strawberry smoothie . The meat balls themselves were very tough and actually tasted like they were possibly reheated , and if not that they were over cooked and then still served. My smoothie on the other hand was VERY flavourless and if knowing this I would have preferred a pop considering the price. Needless to say the lunch experience was quite mediocre when I expected a routine pasta lunch.Figuring I would give it another shot I went back tonight for dinner . The food was great but the service this time was preformed by too many people and not with any personal care by any one individual. I'm saying I assumed the server that took my order for drinks and food would continue helping us though two other servers took part in our meal which diluted the experience and personal care . There was a disconnect between myself and the server because twice she forgot about requests I had made then when following though with these requests made mistakes on the items requested.At one point I was waiting to start my meal which had been sitting in front of me for approx ten minutes waiting for salad which I had requested with my meal. I feel when I mentioned she had made a mistake she did not empathise with me and I had to articulate the issue so I felt better, this is after she had brought me a salad which I did not even order. At this point I felt like she almost ignored us from that moment forward . At the end of our meal there was a final server error when on her own accord she said she would take care of something and never actually did. With my growing enjoyment of restaurants and eating out I feel the need to do all I can to create a great experience for myself because it is expensive and I feel as a customer I deserve this.I am also in the customer service industry and manage a chain restaurant myself and understand the hard ships overall.That being said I know this can be done the right way and I hope to receive this experience if I decide to try East Side Marios in Alliston again. read more
