SUPER cute coffee shop with a very impressive menu of breakfast fare. I got a breakfast called…read more"Hashbrown Bake Platter" whose name undersells itself; the potato part was a delicious, savory cake with hash browns, cheese, bacon, and sausage in an ideal ratio. It also came with perfectly done scrambled eggs and toast. I got a unique latte as well; I asked the barista for her favorite and wound up with a raspberry & dark chocolate latte that had a surprising shock of bitterness. It was great. You will probably really like the ambience. It appears to have been built out of a lovely Victorian home in Dayton's Bluff, and there is plenty of upstairs seating including cute tables on the landings. There is also a very green patio. Friendly service tops it all off nicely. Their only not-open day is Tuesday, so bear that in mind. There is neighborhood street parking which you may have to hunt around a bit for. I really think you'll enjoy hanging out here!

I managed to snag the LAST cinnamon roll! I am taking the fact it was the last in to account. It wasn't the freshest - and an outside corner piece - so it was a bit dry and hard. However, it turns out the roll is just an easy way to get the frosting in your face. Omg. Delicious, buttery amazing frosting. (Which they did frost at the time of purchase). The place is small but they have an upstairs as well as a nice garden patios.

Every fish fry season, Obb's is always talked about as one of the best places to go. This year, we…read morefinally made it--and holy moly, it was busy! We got there at 4 PM and had about a 20 minute wait, which wasn't bad at all. When we left, I swear there were more people waiting outside than there were seated inside the restaurant. The process of getting our table was great (they definitely know what their doing) and our server was amazing, but if you're planning to go on a Friday night during fish fry season, be prepared for a wait. It was $20 for all-you-can-eat fish, but the portion sizes were pretty big to begin with, so we didn't order any extras. For sides, you could choose between fries or a baked potato, and for an extra charge, you could get au gratin potatoes. The fish was good, but the crispness level was lacking on both the fish and the fries--that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. Parking is a bit chaotic. You'll probably end up parking on a side street and walking a little bit. I will say they have a gorgeous patio! It wasn't open for dinner but the tables were all out so we could sit there with our drinks while we waiting for our table which was a nice bonus on a 70 degree day. Glad we tried a new place and happy fish fry season!

Delicious! My group was craving a cubano sandwich and all went together for work. Not knowing what…read moreto expect, we were transformed into the Dominican Republic the moment we stepped foot inside. Carefully designed and curated, the interior is wonderfully setup to mirror a little beach vibe. Ordering is done cafeteria style at a register. Menus are available to browse in advance. The staff is extremely polite, encouraging and helpful. The signs clearly advise that this is not a fast food spot (thank goodness) and that all orders are made fresh. Tables exist both inside and out. There is a grab your own water and silverware section. My group dined outside as we had a nice overcast day where it wasn't too hot or too cold. We sat at the adorable yellow table which had a lemon umbrella. Despite ordering inside, the staff will bring items to your table which was such a sweet gesture. We all loved our cubanos and will certainly be coming back. Thank you!!

I don't eat meat, so I was a little unsure walking in--but I am so glad I gave this place a chance!…read more This is a smaller spot in west St. Paul and it is authentic in the coolest way - I can't wait to revisit during the summer because their patio looks amazing! Spanish is my rusty second language and the staff smiled as they put up with me practicing, actively communicating and just overall making the whole experience awesome. Most of the existing reviews highlight the meat dishes (which looked amazing, to be fair), so I thought I'd share a vegetarian perspective. I got the vegetarian plate and all of the components were notably fresh and super flavorful. I am glad I asked if they had any hot sauce or salsa on my way out with my to-go order, because the salsa they provided was definitely the cherry on the top of my meal. The yuca fries were so fresh and perfectly fried, but not suuper favorable (as one would expect with most fried root vegetables). So I'd suggest pairing their awesome texture and freshness with a chosen form of sauce, salsa, etc. They are going to be a hit with any kids in your party, for sure! If you're vegetarian and hesitant to try a Cuban restaurant, this is your sign to go. And if you eat meat, you're probably already aware this place is a gem. I'll definitely be coming back!
