This is the first time we've worked with someone who showed up on time every single day -- no excuses, no delays -- just consistent, reliable work. Oswaldo and his crew were extremely professional and clearly focused on doing the job efficiently and correctly the first time. Our situation was not simple. We had a retaining wall failure and, during excavation, discovered a large drainage pipe that we weren't even sure who it belonged to. Oswaldo went above and beyond by helping us navigate communication with the county and making sure we understood what was going on every step of the way. He took the time to explain the entire process clearly, which gave us a lot of confidence. We received six different quotes, but ultimately chose Minez Concrete because we felt the most comfortable with Oswaldo -- and that absolutely proved to be the right decision. He even came out on a Sunday to provide the estimate and was right on time, which says a lot about his professionalism. Since writing my original review, we have now completed a second and third retaining wall project with Minez Concrete, including permits, county inspections, engineering plans, and a much more complicated shared easement situation -- and our opinion of Oswaldo and his crew is even higher now. This second project involved a failing retaining wall, drainage issues, county permit requirements, neighbor access coordination, and difficult easement issues that became very complicated throughout the process. Oswaldo was extremely knowledgeable about the permit pulling process from start to finish and handled everything for us. He coordinated directly with the county, helped navigate the easement issues, and made sure every step was completed correctly. Our project also required engineered plans, and Oswaldo was able to connect us with an engineer quickly and help coordinate that process as well, which made an extremely stressful situation much easier for us. Throughout the entire project, Oswaldo stayed calm, professional, honest, and solution-oriented. He consistently communicated with us and helped navigate issues that went far beyond what most contractors would normally deal with. The finished wall came out beautiful, straight, and incredibly solid. We passed final inspection, and the workmanship truly speaks for itself. What impressed us most was that even during difficult situations, Oswaldo still took extra care to preserve surrounding structures and keep everything as functional and clean as possible throughout construction. Finding a contractor you can genuinely trust is rare, and we feel incredibly lucky we found Minez Concrete. We would hire them again without hesitation and highly recommend them to anyone needing retaining wall, concrete, masonry, drainage, or permit-related work. Truly an outstanding company and crew. 100 stars!!!!

Shafiaq Khouli and his SK Concrete team built on our back yard a 14' x 14' SPA niche including a…read more12' x 12' x 5" reinforced concrete pad, foundation, drainage, three sides surrounding half high retaining walls and embedded SPA electrical wiring conduit. They also installed footing drain (French drain) on the back retaining wall, backfilled with the usual gravel, crushed stone and covered the outside of the walls with installed paneled stone veneer. They also did the initial former structure demolition, debris hauling and the requested earth moving and other necessary small retaining walls reassembly. It sounds like an easy simple job but, believe me, it got complicated quite soon. Along the construction way, I was able to interact with the crew and bounce ideas and corrections which were followed to my customer satisfaction, resulting in more than a very acceptable final product. When the inevitable, beyond his control, the one odd crew helper misbehavior occurred on the job, this contractor immediately corrected it, got on top of the problem and smoothly and quickly we had no more of an issue here. He also facilitated for me the customer to bring my own tile / stone wall-caps products and installer guys, which ended doing a beautiful job we're very proud of. Pricing fair, not inexpensive. Job done acceptable, with your own (the customer) continuous supervision and being able to stop working crew's irreparable mistakes before they happened, however, the final product came out well built and functional as we imagined and expected, we are grateful for that. Thanks again to Shafiaq and SK Concrete for accepting working on our small home project and for including us in their busy commercial and industrial schedule.

Some clarifications:…read more -Equipment was stored on my property last job. Paying 2 man hours of labor for daily pick up of equipment that is already on project site makes no sense to me. -My agreed upon labor rates never included travel time. -SK concrete wanted to do second project without a written contract initially. When pressed by me to have a written contract, he initiated a different one than I had agreed upon. It is for these reasons I write this yelp review. I had hoped I had found a consistent, reliable concrete contractor who practices his or her trade using written agreed upon contracts in a timely manner for my present and future projects. Sadly, my opinion is that I haven't with SK Concrete.

Like others stated, Justin and his partner Brandon are really nice guys - Justin handles the business side and Brandon was essentially the project manager. There were a few design changes during this process. The most prominent change being the material we had to use to obtain the necessary permit from City of Poway. We downgraded from a premium modern block to a split-face CMU block and ultimately cost us an additional $14K. I realized later I had similar quotes for the CMU block retaining wall for $13K less than I was charged for this aspect of the project. In regards to the lack of attention to detail, I had two issues. (1) When we pivoted to the split face CMU block, Brandon told me to send him the color I wanted. I sent him the specific details to a light gray CMU block that matched the more modern aesthetic of our backyard. What was ultimately ordered and installed was a natural gray (tan). (2) It's expected the split face CMU has inconsistencies, however the crew that installed it used a block that had a giant divot and placed another that had a giant bulge, even though there was a decent amount of material leftover. I chose Pacific Concrete because they were referred by my pool company, but looking back I would have approached this much differently. I wouldn't discourage OR recommend anyone work with them. I just recommend to do your homework.

It's rare to find a company that delivers both great customer service and top-quality work, but Greenturf Pro nailed it. Unfortunately, that company refused to redo the job, and the legal process is still ongoing. They use their own employees, and it shows in the quality, professionalism, and attention to detail. They did everything the way it should have been done from the beginning, and I have had no issues. We can finally enjoy our backyard the way we wanted to and actually use it for volleyball, badminton, and just having a great time outside. Thank you so much, Green Turf Pro, for making it happen
