Fixed our (doohickey) my wording and the went around and did something with the other (doohickeys). He said I would never have a problem with them again! He also tuned up the garages. His price has ALWAYS been more than fair. Toby is the example of an honest, reliable person. read more

I dont leave reviews unless something is worth leaving a review for, good or bad. When I saw this business, I was a little suspicious because all the reviews were 5 stars. Let me tell you. WORTH IT. Toby answered his phone and responded to my house at 930 pm. I came home from work and tried to close my garage and everything went to crap. Bent my track, snapped some rollers off etc. I called Toby for emergency repair so my garage wasn't partially open over night. From when I called him, Toby was at my house in about 25-30 mins. He was coming from Lakeside and I live in Ramona! He got here, and went straight to work! Fixed my track, replaced my rollers and even greased up my garage door for me for a VERY affordable price. From the time I called Toby by the time the repairs were done was probably under an hour. Incredible work from a knowledgeable, hard working fella. Last of a dying breed that's for sure! Will be my go to first fall for all my garage needs. read more

A few questions, a few measurements and some pleasant conversation about a few things we had in common, he gave me a written quote. Only needing to confirm stock he left and within an hour he called back confirming the door I wanted was in stock. Three days later my door was installed and working perfectly. Toby came highly recommended via our neighborhood's NextDoor community and he deserves all the praise he has earned. I needed the overhead track and a new opener installed on a single car garage that had been taken out of commission by the previous owner. Toby re-arranged his schedule for the day to meet me. He quickly assessed the situation, made his recommendations and came up with an estimate which was more than fair. Toby ended up using the track we had to save on costs. I called Toby on a Monday and he did the install that Friday. I also him install a new opener on the two car garage so everything is matching and will work together on a single opener. Lastly he changed out all the rollers and did routine maintenance for both doors. They are SUPER quiet. Toby is professional, meticulous and friendly. He also does all the work himself so you know you are getting the best service available. I would use East County Garage Doors again in a heartbeat and would recommend Toby to anyone. Our HOA approved a great garage door but there wasn't a recommended installer. Then Toby arrived at one installation. He performed a perfect installation of the door, the opener and the outdoor controller system pad. Then one neighbor after another hired him and everyone were happy and still are. I called Toby to replace the external controller pad and check the door and opener. He did a thorough inspection, a couple lubrications in minutes. I have a lot of "stuff" in my garage and he's a big, healthy guy. He managed to see the back part of the opener motor, open it and make the necessary changes so that the signals from the controllers became in sync. This visit took less than 30 minutes. He drove from El Cajon in a beautiful modern truck. He can be trusted: hire Toby! read more

If you are looking for a competent and professional contractor regarding repairs, service, installation for garage doors - you need look no further. The owner of this business is Tobey Bechtel; an independent contractor, who works alone. I had damaged by garage door extensively by bending one of the panels, and also bending other hardware. I reached out to Tobey after seeing his ad in the Scripps Ranch Newsletter. The following day Tobey arrived at my home on time in his utility truck, business card (LIC #) and notebook. Tobey took his time to assess the damage and what parts would be needed to complete the repairs. He advised me that he would contact his materials vendor first and call me later with the price., which I thought was fair and agreed to. On fix it day, Tobey arrived on time and began the work, with the least amount of disruption and without a mess to clean up - . Smiling in Scripps Ranch Chris read more

I called another local garage door company first and got a voicemail. I did leave a message and they eventually called me back. I then called East County Garage Doors and reached Toby right away. I explained the service I needed and he quoted me a price over the phone that was about half what the other company quoted me for the same service. He was able to come to my house the same day. Actually in about an hour and a half after my call. He completed the service I had originally called about and then I asked him to trouble shoot an issue with one of our garage door remotes. After determining the issue was a fatal one, he programmed two new remotes and added an external receiver as well. The price for all the work was very reasonable. I appreciated Toby's ability to get creative with solving the problem. His customer service was excellent as well! I have a couple of other garage door service providers' "stickers" in and around my garage and I'm glad Toby added his. He is the only one I will be calling in the future. read more
