Myer did an amazing job on upgrading our 1942 garage door! Hauling away the old door was very helpful. Fair pricing. James was adaptable & made day of last minute changes happen. Switching to a side motor is essentially for loft accessibility. Appreciating the little things, the clicker & keypad are a game changer! Sent out my request for a quote and I appreciated so many things about the interaction. - first, not only did a human respond but it was the owner. At least 3 other places had a Jane that responded. - I was not given the run around about needing to come out for a free estimate. I did not have time to meet with multiple people. I knew what was wrong and he knew his price. - He gave me a flat price! This was huge. Last time I had a repair the end price came in higher than I was quoted. Appreciated that the quoted price matched the final price. - he was on a job but still had great communication. - when he finally arrived he was fast and friendly. Thanks James! read more

Totally recommend using Myers Garage door. James was super easy, flexible and great with communicating. He is a man of his word. I had other garage repair companies that I reached out to. I had a couple of them no show on me or not the best in getting back to me. James was very reliable. He followed up and was able to work with us and our budget to make it happen. He went above and beyond and even helped us the next day after replacing our garage door with another issue. It's hard to spend your hard earned money and then hope you can trust the work, but you absolutely can with James. He made it an easy and painless process and very professional. great experience from initial contact - James reached out immediately to address our request for a quote on a broken spring. The price was fair and scheduled the appt for the next AM - he showed up on time - professional and prompt. After discussing with him that the original hinges were a bit old and should also be replace I decided to have this done in 2 weeks. We had our original garage door re-skinned about 6 months ago with Eichler paneling and the handyman did a horrible job - I had to add some extra 2x2 to help secure it - I asked James' opinion and he said he could fix it - we decided to get it redone - 2nd appt - James showed up with his helper and after about 3 hours we had a new skinned door with new hinges and adjusted - open programmed - done and done Great service and just an overall great guy !!! Thanks James read more

What a fantastic experience I had with James Myer changing out my garage opener, springs, and drive belt. James answered his phone on my first try and came by my house the same afternoon. I received a great education and advice on garage doors from James. James is a man of integrity and doesn't try to upsell stuff you don't need. He accurately diagnoses the problem, lays out the options, and fixes the issue. His work history/experience is impressive, and I felt very much at ease that he will treat my garage door as if it were his own. Well done James!! read more

First of all, whatever you do, don't call the big boys in this industry. I did, and it was a waste of time. Myer Garage Door is a small, one man company taking on the tasks of Atlas. I had a broken spring on a two car garage and thought it would be an easy DYI after getting some astronomical bids from well known companies. After researching YouTube videos, I decided it would be better to find a professional. I found James on line and started up a chat. Based on his expert guidance i decided it was obvious that I found the right person. Spend time on his website www.myergaragedoor.com everything there is a perfect representation of the professional, warm, sincere integrity you are going to get before, during and after the work is completed. Great pricing and awesome job. Definitely recommend James for anyone needing work on a garage door. read more

James lived up to the reputation of his other reviews. He quoted me over text to fix the springs on my very old garage door. He was on time ( actually early after checking to see if that would work for me), kind, personable, efficient and just an all round great guy who obviously knows his stuff. When I do decide to replace my door, I will definitely reach out to him. Quote was honored, reasonable and there was no upselling. Highly recommend! read more

Class act! James is probably in my top 5 of the best people I have ever worked with. He is one of those guys you save in your "people to contact" when you need help and hope that, even years later, he's still in the business because you can't find yourself working with anyone else in his field. He responds quickly, he's prompt, an excellent and timely communicator, reliable, has pride in his work, and honest. He doesn't up charge and his labor costs aren't embellished. He not only made sure the job was done right, but he fixed the shoddy work and mistakes that the original builders left behind. He's a quality guy and I hope my review gets his business the attention it deserves. I recommend this company without reservations. read more

used Myer Garage for my home. We need an update from our antiquated plywood door. I got quotes from 4 companies and Myer was the most upfront pricing I can get. Other companies would try to up sale you on random add ons or up sale you on the things that would be standard. but her are some reasons why I Liked Myer. 1. Great competitive upfront prices. no sale gimmick. 2. open and responsive communication. He answered all my questions and concerns 3. Clean and detailed installation. I tend to have OCD about the smallest details. He was on point about everything, even the smallest cable. 4. Myer is attentive to our family needs and questions with continued support after instal read more

My garage door has been getting stuck halfway while opening and closing for weeks, and it was becoming a huge daily frustration. It seems to happen whenever it gets cold. We dealt with it last winter and this year that was not an option. James was professional, friendly, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. He quickly diagnosed the problem, explained everything in a way I could understand, and had the door running smoothly again in no time (literally 15 minutes). Now the door opens and closes perfectly--no jerking, no stopping. It honestly feels like a brand-new system. His service was fast, affordable, and incredibly thorough. If you're dealing with a stubborn garage door, I can't recommend this company enough. James turned a major headache into an stress-free fix. Five stars all the way! read more

Absolutely recommend. Thanks to our builder installing the cheapest materials possible that would pass code, our garage door opener spring failed, after just 5 years in our new home. Thankfully I found James and his company Myer Garage Door. He responded fast, came out (at night!) within about an hour, and had the door opener converted to a stronger, longer lasting system within about an hour! James is a straight-shooter, which I appreciated greatly. Price was also the lowest out of 3 quotes that I received. Hit a home run finding him. By the way, no sales pitch, no if I do it now I'll reduce it $50, etc. His price was already the lowest and he said he would come out (in the evening!)! Done deal. You won't be disappointed. read more

This is all you need to know for your garage door needs. James came quickly, diagnosed our spring problem and - most impressively - checked the bearings and told me they were ok! He could have easily given me the usual repairman line and said, "Y'know, these bearings are shot and you'd better replace them now or you'll be sorry." I then wouldn't have known any better and would have forked over a lot more money. Then, James actually charged me less than he had at first quoted! Six stars! read more

I contacted them around 1:30 pm to help fix my garage door and they got back to me right away and worked with my schedule to come out later that night to fix my door. He was super professional, explained all my options and walked me through the repairs he did. He did not push anything and gave his recommendations for different options. His prices were great and there were no hidden charges. He was even courteous enough to use hand tools to keep the noise down while my kid slept. read more

James came out to Fallbrook from La Mesa, checked out the sensors and found a broken wire that he fixed, all for the flat rate of $100 he quoted on Yelp. No upsales, just honest work. How much do I know about garage doors? Basically nothing. But I do know that James is the real deal! Do yourself a favor and call him if you need help with a garage issue. James was punctual, knowledgeable, and got my busted garage door working in tip top shape in a matter of hours. He charged a very fair price (a notably lower figure that I was quoted from another reputable garage repair company in San Diego). He was also so kind, and offered to help me unload my car while I had a baby in my hands. Those kinds of things go a long way and separate him from others. I will 100% reach out to James again if I ever find myself in need of a garage repair, and you should do yourself a favor and call him too! read more
