Lothian Buses replaced East Lothian's First bus services with a new company called East Coast. There seems to be a lot more buses now and they are more comfortable with better value for money.
As they are part of TfE, you can buy something called a County Plus day ticket which gives you unlimited access to their services, Lothian daytime services and all tram stops except the airport. You can also upgrade to the Network day ticket which is the same as County Plus but you can get to the airport by tram, and you can access Airlink and Skylink.
Since you can use all of Edinburgh's transport with these deals, it is much better than what First was.
Getting from Dunbar to Edinburgh only costs £5.60 for a return - by train it would cost £11. Although it takes longer, it is much better value.
I now like buses! I used to be quite doubtful but now I am a fan. read more
