East Coast Autowerks is a place of much integrity and heart. Dan Forbes, the owner, is a warm man with two girls and a lovely wife, and he treats each of his customers the way he treats his family - with the utmost regard, respect, and care. Dan and his crew are well-versed in green technology; they're helping local musician Cha Cha Connor build a bio-diesel / vegetable oil bus for her upcoming summer tour. Dan is unflappable but also a thoughtful listener. His work is done with regard for the environment and for economic efficiency. In the summers, Dan also mentors gang-involved, juvenile-delinquent, high-school dropout teens; he runs a summer apprenticeship program called "Crash Course," an auto-repair, car-building workshop based out of his own shop. The integrity and love this man has for Worcester makes this Hartford native, and longtime Boston resident, interested in investing in "the Woo." Finally, Dan Forbe's administrative assistant, Pie, is a pleasure to work with. A sassy, brassy Worcester woman with a big mouth and an equally big heart, Pie organizes the shop and ensures that your project is completed on-time and with the utmost care. Overall, Dan's East Coast Autowerks has my vote as the best auto shop in the region! read more
