Monogamy has never been a strong suit of mine in the hair stylist department. Every few months, I feel an overwhelming polygamist urge to mix things up & try a new salon all together. One unfaithful day, I decided to stray on over to Moira Brouillard at Earthly Roots & I couldn't be happier that I found her! Moira listens to your ideas while also having an objective eye. Sometimes, what a client wants in theory is simply unrealistic for real life. Moira knows this & takes every person's hair texture, face shape, lifestyle, etc into account when deciding on the best cut & color for the individual. I can honestly say that I have received more compliments on my color & the overall health of my hair since I've been going to Moira. Speaking of, that's the other awesome thing about Earthly Roots: she carries some of the best hair care products on the market today (the most natural). The prices are fairly competitive & comparable to those of other high end salons, but hey, the results are worth every penny. Moira is so personable that I can't imagine spending time in anyone else's chair. Go see her. Now. I read the two bad reviews here, but I cannot believe that they are true. I went to see Moira a few months ago after feeling unenthused about the salon I'd been visiting. As some one who doesn't use hair products beyond shampoo, I was drawn to the descriptors "fragrance free" and "eco-conscious," figuring any stylist who made this claim was at least somewhat attentive to avoiding toxic ingredients. Wow: attentive was an understatement... Moira was 101% committed to mindful, careful choices regarding the products she used, and shared a lot of that education with me. My appointment was a completely different experience than any I'd had before. A calm, deliberate, and focused energy from start to finish. It was a long appointment, and I left feeling like I'd really gotten a solid value. Moira was fun to talk to, too. :) I don't get my hair done often, and after getting my over-lightened hair back to a natural state, I don't need to! But when I do, I'm definitely going back to Earthly Roots. Don't believe that negative review for a second... there is no way a miscommunication like that could ever be possible. I have been going to Earthly Roots for a couple of years now and have been nothing but pleased with my experiences. I had been looking for a salon that used non-toxic products as I try to be conscious about what goes onto my body. My first visit Moira took time to discuss what color I would like best and I was very happy with the results (I haven't changed it since!). I get many compliments on the color and have been pleasantly surprised at how long it lasts, despite being free from chemicals. More importantly, Moira herself is a joy to work with. I can't say enough about Moira. She's just the best. I've been to a lot of hairdressers and i've never been super crazy about any haircut i've gotten in the past (and this includes a $200 haircut at a very high-profile hairdresser in NYC), but Moira cut my hair perfectly. I love everything she did to it and I think it adds an entirely new dimension to my look, which i LOVE! She's fabulous. Studio is adorable, she's adorable, Bo is adorable, everything's adorable. I had been unhappy with my hair for a while, the color was odd and unnatural and the cut needed some help. I finally made the choice to go see Moira, who I had met at a Concord Young Professionals event. I first went for a consultation and then for a visit for cut and color. I am in love with the color, she made it look so natural and blended so well. The cut was great, she took a lot of the bulk out and made it light and easy to work with. I chose to try out Earthly Roots because I wanted to go to a more eco-friendly, non-toxic salon. I was hesitant at first because I wasn't sure the color would last as long as traditional coloring. I was pleasantly surprised! Honestly, I think the color lasts longer. I let Moira choose the color that she thought would best suit me. I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. Love my hair! Cannot say enough good things about Moira. My curls are usually unruly, but she gave me such a stylish haircut. My curls are bouncy and I LOVE IT!! Such a cute salon with a wonderful atmosphere. The products are good too, my hair feels so healthy. I have never had someone spend so much time cutting my hair. Moira has been cutting and highlighting my hair for over a year. I have had so many compliments since my last cut and color last week. Her products do not damage your hair. Moira puts in the time and effort needed for a good cut that falls into place and looks good even without blow drying.
