We didn't want to completely ruin our dinner and not be prepared for it so we just needed something healthy and quick. My coworker got an açai bowl which he said he swears is the best açai bowl he has ever had. I can attest to the Blue Majik smoothie. I know it has spirulina in it, but I was curious on what it tasted like. They actually have it available to sample because it is a base. I could have eaten all of that alone as is! That smoothie was wonderful. I also really appreciate that they don't charge extra for add-ons and that they're unlimited. I feel like that's how it should be if I'm paying $11 for a smoothie. I feel like that's a nice touch for a customer. Inside a small but they do have bar seating with barstools and it's very clean. We were greeted with a smile. Cannot wait to be back again when I'm passing through!

I have not yet tried their açai bowl although what I have seen from others, it looks delicious and it has a vast range of toppings that are unlimited. I even saw toddlers, ordering it and super excited to eat it. What I have ordered often from the shop are there toasts. You can get a choice of bread which is very high-quality, and add either avocado spread or a nut butter spread. I went yesterday on a very hot day and the avocados were not ripe enough, so I chose a cashew butter toast. There are many toppings to choose from like granola's, nuts, seeds, chia pudding, fresh fruit, and even natural sweeteners. I got some berries, fresh and toasted coconut and date syrup drizzled on top. It is such a satisfying snack with a bit of protein and other healthy ingredients that I did not feel guilty about eating I don't know if it was the bread I chose, but the size was a little smaller than what I remember. However, it hit the spot until my next meal. The shop is extremely clean and Service was very pleasant and friendly.

Came here with my daughter yesterday, after she raved to me about how good they were. She was right! We each got their small size, but it was filled with so much goodness to fill our hunger. It's build-your-own everything here at Roots & Rye! Not just acai bowls, but toasts and smoothies as well. Unlimited toppings is a dream come true. I chose green tea matcha and overnight oats for my base. Topped it with banana, strawberries, oats, almonds and almond butter. It was SO good! The matcha tastes just like frozen yogurt. I can't believe these babies are good for us. When I got home around dinner time, I was still full from my açaí bowl. I will be thinking about these bowls until the next time I get them again. They have a wide variety of açaí bases - my favorites are traditional açaí, mango and coconut - and they have lots of fresh fruit and offer unlimited toppings. I really like that you can see and sample the all the various options - even the bases. When you start your bowl you have the choice of ratio of açaí to toppings you want in your bowl. From there you can just start stacking it up with all the fresh, delicious goodies. My favorite bowl is half fill açaí, granola, all the fruits (except cranberries), a little honey, some condensed milk and toasted coconut. And don't sleep on their empanadas! They are really good too. Great variety with super flavors. Beef, chicken and vegan available. One of the SUPER PHENOMENAL things here is the people!! The shop is owned by a daughter / father dynamic duo!! The daughter is sweet and charming and makes the best bowls!! The dad has huge personality and will teach you all about açaí and have you trying new options. He's a real kick in a good way. I even met the mom working in the shop one day. She said she doesn't work there often but stepped in to help. She was very friendly also. They are a couple of others that work there that are also very nice, efficient and make great bowls. The shop is cute and clean. Everything is made right in front of you. (You can also order home delivery from Ubatuba.) The shop is freeway close and has a large, easy access parking lot. So I asked the manager again and he pointed to a guy finally leaving to clean the tables. The guy went to the wrong tables so I had to again ask him to come clean out tables. Why is it so difficult to get good service in this country? I travel around the world and this country has the worst service of all! Nothing but lazy people. It a customer asks for something reasonable, then do it, and do it now!!!! I shouldn't even to have to ask for this.....the tables should never have been left dirty for so long, period!

Staff was affable and competent. Prices are fair. Offers free wifi and street parking. What captivating for me was their interior design because it kinda reflected that of your own living room with flat screen tv, bookshelves, bar stool, love chair, sofa and a coffee table. Overall, I had a nice experience and somewhat enjoyed my iced coffee; I really like their chill living room vibe. I still recommend this coffee shop.
