Sweet potato pie, plantains, spuds and three bean chilli
    Emma Louise M.

Oh, Earth just gets more comforting every time I pop in. They've always got some fresh, wholesome, hearty special available, and it's become routine that this is the place I visit when I want to pile my plate with hot deliciousness. This time round they had sweet potato pie, which was kind of like a cottage pie with a crispy top but all kinds of veggies on board too, and had a slight Thai flavour to it. Just all kinds of yummy. There was also a three-bean chilli, always a favourite of mine, and sides of roasties and plantain. Plantain! I so rarely get to eat plantain. These were crisp, fluffy in the middle and done in long strips as opposed to the usual banana-esque slices we're used to seeing. My mum opted for an Earth burger with a salad plate, and that had a bit of everything on it - homemade coleslaw, beetroot salad, houmous, all sorts of stuff. We shared our dishes and Earth kindly gave us side plates so we could chop and change. They let us have a giant jug of water for our table, and we had such a lovely cosy time it took us ages to leave. Next time I'm this side of town, I plan to dine at Earth and spend the best part of the day in the Buddhist Centre above where, yelpers have kindly told me, for a donation you can hang out as long as you like and use the kettle. Best stuff my backpack full of Twinings then, looks like I'll be there for the long haul! Need to get me some reading done...

    Raw passion fruit cheesecake

Day 2 of hipster style Hannah having to work in tea shops! I picked this place as it was the first one that popped up with wifi available when I searched, and I'd heard good things in the past. It has a very canteen-y feel, and the staff really are wonderful, but the atmosphere of the place wasn't as friendly as I expected. It certainly wasn't unfriendly, just a little "meh", but I expect this is lifted a little of you go in with a group of friends. Good vegan and veggie choices, of course, and the juices are lovely, I tried a summer breeze juice and a banana and ginger shake, both really refreshing. I also had a piece of the raw passion fruit cheesecake, which was a lovely texture, and probably one of the nicest veggie/vegan/raw sorts I have had. Don't bother with the whole earth cans of you like string flavours though, I wouldn't refuse to drink them, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get them

Not a strick veggie me, I eat fish...and duck. Anything in or near water really so I suppose that includes cows, pigs and sheep so no, I'm not strict. Even so, I'd been meaning to pop into the Earth Cafe for while the first time I went. I think it was all the talk of juice and health in the window as I'd been feeling a little guilty about the state of my diet! And it really is a great little place, such a breath of fresh air from the gluttony of chains Manchester is pretty guilty of. The place itself is modern but relaxed, always with a few book readers knocking about. The menu is seasonal and fresh and can be ordered to go. The menu is also strictly fair trade- so you can enjoy the taste of guilt-free food!

Very hippy cafe with lots of healthy stuff. Im not into my healthy food but I was happy here because of the gorgeous wholesome deserts. The staff here are really friendly and there is a great atmosphere here. To be fair when I tried the food I have to admit its the best healthy food I have ever tasted so well done Earth Cafe although I'm not entirely converted yet!

Here you'll feel at home: Yes it is a restaurant and I ' m supposed to talk about the food first , but what stroke me was how the waitresses were thoughtful and kind. It seems like you enter a complete different world here: situated in a place where there is not much light , the first impression can be surprising, but in the table room is a Buddha fountain that tells the contrary : it is a zen spot! The food is good , and I've tried it several times , there is not a lot of choice but there are different food every day, which is a good point for a vegetarian restaurant , it is not easy to get such a variety at home! Their side dishes or salads are not very tasty, I would advise you to take a hot dish. You can also order a vegan burger or a soup which I ' ve never tried but seemed quite popular . Their juices are absolute fresh heaven and there is free wifi!

Yummy yummy yummy, these smoothies are so good!…read more I like smoothies because they're tasty and I feel like I'm being healthy when I have one! I like making my own at home and I often pretend to myself that start making some to take to work with me...I know I never will. But that's when places like this come in handy! Smoothies is in the Arndale markets, right on the edge, you can't miss it and you really shouldn't, it's a good place for you to re-fuel after (or during) a hard days shopping! My personal favourite has to be the Strawberry Peach one, so fruity! They have a stupid amount of different ones to choose from though and they'll make anything you suggest, every smoothie is blended from fresh fruit right in front of your eyes. They also do energy booster 'hits' but I've always been too scared to try them. Maybe one day!

I'd eat a bowlful of fresh pineapple as enthusiastically as I'd munch some Skittles in the cinema. And I'd slurp a smoothie with as much gusto as a chocolate milkshake. Well, I've found my smoothie temple. 98% fat free frozen yoghurt and fruit. That's all that goes into these bad boys, served up by smiley and friendly people who are more than happy to help you out with your five a day. And goodness me, do they taste like an indulgent treat. My medium sized Pineapple Blush, a simple blend of raspberry and pineapple, felt like a dessert, and at less than £3 it was a bargain too! In the Arndale Food Market as well. Where else? Now I know exactly where to get my frozen fruit fix while I'm shopping in the sales. There are tons of flavour combinations including the Cobana, which blends together pineapple, coconut milk and banana. And it's stumbling distance from my house. What could be better to wean you off your summer cocktails into a full on detox? Guilt-free deliciousness. What more could you ask...

Fruterio do Brasil, of which I will refer to as FDB throughout my review is only a small brand, despite what their name states, they talk about them being an Italian brand with 2 of their 5 stores being located their in Milan, their other stores are located in UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai), and this store in Manchester is actually the only one in the United Kingdom. The overall service in this branch is poor, the staff are often there outside giving away free samples, but they simply lack enthusiasm, it seems they lack training of anything other than to pour samples into little sample cups and hand them out, as they basically avoid any customer conversation or questions, which is a shame. The drinks I've tried, I can't remember the full names, just tasted horrible to say the least to the point I'd even refuse a free sample there now, which people who know me, know is something I never do, people might also say that me refusing a free sample is less likely than Liverpool winning the league (No I wouldn't go that far...) The drinks just taste slightly sickly and watered down, based on what I've tried and they seem quite expensive too, probably slightly more expensive than rivals such as nearby Boost, on the lower floor of the mall, and of course the prices here are so much more expensive compared to picking up a smoothie at a supermarket such as one of the many nearby Tesco stores, which sadly is probably your best bet if you want a decent, cheap smoothie as this place despite being a "specialist in smoothies and juices", just doesn't cut it, mainly down to using poor ingredients and then watering them down to a high degree.

I feel this is more of a slogan than a name of a company as it doesn't give a good vibe. Bobo Tea would be much better with that as a slogan. This is like a popup shop in the Manchester Arndale near Greggs and Subway. They do normal tea, iced tea, bubble tea and you can also put some sort of jelly in them. They is no seating with this being a pop-up sort shop just in the Arndale and not a separate store hence isn't the place to go to relax while shopping, and sit down with a cup of tea. The Iced Teas are made fresh and they normally use fruits like Strawberry, Kiwi and Lemon. My barisa (Can I use that term? They are making drinks?), put in a teabag and then some strawberry syrup and ice. My iced tea was a little watery but the flavour was still quite nice. The straw was a big, fat pink one like what you get with a Mcflurry and I feel it was a little difficult to drink out of it. The staff didn't really sound out, they were relativley busy but they was loads of them to be able to cope with the demand, probably more servers than customers so they could of had a chat with me. This is probably one of the best places to get an iced tea in Manchester but still I feel this place only deserves 3 stars, and that is being generous as the staff don't really stand out, it is a little pricey at £2.50 for a medium tea, they is no where to sit hence this place is one to get a drink to have going round the arndale rather than a place to sit down and relax.

But the host was very lovely and gracious and people understood. Food wise I went for the shakshuka, it sounded nice, and it really was ... it was also EXTREMELY hot because it was served in cast iron and kept its heat. It was delicious. The toast was crispy, the tomatoes were tasty, chickpeas were crunchy and a nice addition, The added sausage was very delicious, the eggs were good although I would have preferred if they had some runny yolk but its almost impossible to get that with baked eggs. Server was lovely, staff were great, absolutely need to return here when I can.
