TL;DR - Great vegan food but a few rough edges.
Manchester seems to have quite the reputation for vegan food these days and Vertigo is another place to get your fix. This unit isn't particularly large, and you can get take out but we managed to squeeze onto the end of a table and eat in.
It's not immediately clear as you head in, but there is table service here. It was all a bit chaotic behind the counter though and we queued up for a while before someone explained we could just sit down and someone would come over.
Mark went for a falafel dish and I had the jackfruit chilli. Mark enjoyed his and mine was super hot and spicy; both dishes were really good portions and full of flavour. However, by the time I got to the end I was starting to feel a bit bloated and I realised a lot of the heat in the chilli was actually just coming from the raw chopped chillies on top.
We also had a bit of a grumble in that they got our drinks order wrong and we had to wait quite a while for it to be sorted.
I'm also not 100% sure how I feel about this place being dog friendly. I love it when venues are dog friendly, but the unit here is so small it didn't really feel appropriate. read more
