Sweet potato pie, plantains, spuds and three bean chilli
    Emma Louise M.

Oh, Earth just gets more comforting every time I pop in. They've always got some fresh, wholesome, hearty special available, and it's become routine that this is the place I visit when I want to pile my plate with hot deliciousness. This time round they had sweet potato pie, which was kind of like a cottage pie with a crispy top but all kinds of veggies on board too, and had a slight Thai flavour to it. Just all kinds of yummy. There was also a three-bean chilli, always a favourite of mine, and sides of roasties and plantain. Plantain! I so rarely get to eat plantain. These were crisp, fluffy in the middle and done in long strips as opposed to the usual banana-esque slices we're used to seeing. My mum opted for an Earth burger with a salad plate, and that had a bit of everything on it - homemade coleslaw, beetroot salad, houmous, all sorts of stuff. We shared our dishes and Earth kindly gave us side plates so we could chop and change. They let us have a giant jug of water for our table, and we had such a lovely cosy time it took us ages to leave. Next time I'm this side of town, I plan to dine at Earth and spend the best part of the day in the Buddhist Centre above where, yelpers have kindly told me, for a donation you can hang out as long as you like and use the kettle. Best stuff my backpack full of Twinings then, looks like I'll be there for the long haul! Need to get me some reading done...

    Raw passion fruit cheesecake

Day 2 of hipster style Hannah having to work in tea shops! I picked this place as it was the first one that popped up with wifi available when I searched, and I'd heard good things in the past. It has a very canteen-y feel, and the staff really are wonderful, but the atmosphere of the place wasn't as friendly as I expected. It certainly wasn't unfriendly, just a little "meh", but I expect this is lifted a little of you go in with a group of friends. Good vegan and veggie choices, of course, and the juices are lovely, I tried a summer breeze juice and a banana and ginger shake, both really refreshing. I also had a piece of the raw passion fruit cheesecake, which was a lovely texture, and probably one of the nicest veggie/vegan/raw sorts I have had. Don't bother with the whole earth cans of you like string flavours though, I wouldn't refuse to drink them, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get them

Not a strick veggie me, I eat fish...and duck. Anything in or near water really so I suppose that includes cows, pigs and sheep so no, I'm not strict. Even so, I'd been meaning to pop into the Earth Cafe for while the first time I went. I think it was all the talk of juice and health in the window as I'd been feeling a little guilty about the state of my diet! And it really is a great little place, such a breath of fresh air from the gluttony of chains Manchester is pretty guilty of. The place itself is modern but relaxed, always with a few book readers knocking about. The menu is seasonal and fresh and can be ordered to go. The menu is also strictly fair trade- so you can enjoy the taste of guilt-free food!

Very hippy cafe with lots of healthy stuff. Im not into my healthy food but I was happy here because of the gorgeous wholesome deserts. The staff here are really friendly and there is a great atmosphere here. To be fair when I tried the food I have to admit its the best healthy food I have ever tasted so well done Earth Cafe although I'm not entirely converted yet!

Here you'll feel at home: Yes it is a restaurant and I ' m supposed to talk about the food first , but what stroke me was how the waitresses were thoughtful and kind. It seems like you enter a complete different world here: situated in a place where there is not much light , the first impression can be surprising, but in the table room is a Buddha fountain that tells the contrary : it is a zen spot! The food is good , and I've tried it several times , there is not a lot of choice but there are different food every day, which is a good point for a vegetarian restaurant , it is not easy to get such a variety at home! Their side dishes or salads are not very tasty, I would advise you to take a hot dish. You can also order a vegan burger or a soup which I ' ve never tried but seemed quite popular . Their juices are absolute fresh heaven and there is free wifi!

One Sunday I went up as I could get there for opening time and decided to cross it off my list. When I got there it was already open so that was a little confusing ... but it was RAMMED. Luckily, I was going on my own so could easily be sat at the window, which was a great view, and easily got served. So many people came in after me and couldn't be seated without a reservation. But the host was very lovely and gracious and people understood. Food wise I went for the shakshuka, it sounded nice, and it really was ... it was also EXTREMELY hot because it was served in cast iron and kept its heat. It was delicious. The toast was crispy, the tomatoes were tasty, chickpeas were crunchy and a nice addition, The added sausage was very delicious, the eggs were good although I would have preferred if they had some runny yolk but its almost impossible to get that with baked eggs. Server was lovely, staff were great, absolutely need to return here when I can.

No comments on that. However, the host, who was also our waiter, was nice but we felt extremely rushed for our breakfast. He gave almost no time for us to decide on what we wanted to eat and seemed keen on getting us in and out and soon as possible even though we were one of two groups there. Like I said, he was nice and stuff but we felt really really rushed. Every time he would finish speaking to us, he would go over and speak with some guy sitting with a computer. So we think the rushing had something to do with him wanting to speak with whoever that was. The latte we got was delicious. The food was okay. Both our dishes came out warm or borderline cold. I asked for mine to be reheated and they agreed no problem, but when it came back, it was exact same temperature. I just gave up and said it was fine. The taste itself was okay. Definitely needed more flavor. Oh and why were both our dishes SWIMMING in chili oil?? I know the dishes said chili oil was part of the dish but I wasn't expecting chili oil soup with a side of steak and eggs basically. Idk if it was a presentation thing or a flavor thing.. either way it was just too much. just kept getting all over everything and one napkin is definitely not enough to handle all of that lol. I'd come back, but definitely not order what I ordered again.

When you first arrive, the waiter will sit you down on a table and then you order by scanning a QR code or going to the bar area. Didn't make a lunch reservation in advance but was still able to get a good table. - Bundo Chaat - Probably one of the best reinvented Indian dishes I've ever had and is a MUST at Bundobust. The crispy samosa pastry mixed in with the creamy yogurt and slightly hot chili sauce is maybe one of the best dishes I've ever had. Usually I'm not a huge fan of cold food, but this was actually so unbelievably good, like eating an unhealthy salad. The potatoes and chickpeas on top were also fantastic. - Chole Saag - Not as big of a fan but still great nonethless. It's kind of exactly what you would expect: chickpea and spinach curry paired with some kind of bread. I will say that for the price, it is incredibly nice and generous that they give you the puri on the side because usually at other Indian places in London, you do need to order it as an extra. Overall, absolutely fantastic place to eat while in Manchester. Do not sleep on the Bundo Chaat at all, probably one of the best Indian foods I've ever had. Also during the weekday they have a lunch deal where's its 2 for £9 which is honestly super nice of them to do and also very filling too.

I went in around 6ish on a Friday and got seated straight away downstairs. The place was a bit dark but a lot of northern quarter places are like that these days. And it wasn't just my table as someone mentioned It in front of me they came to sort it. I hadn't mentioned it so left it ... wasn't a huge problem so didn't feel I had to. So ordered the Manc-hattan which is 2 patties, cheese, pastrami and a battered black pudding slice on an oven bottom. Wanted sweet potato fries to so paid the little extra for Those. Looking at the menu I saw that they did a beyond meat burger which I've just tried at home and love it so is great that they're catering for BC those on a plant based diets to. One of my fav things was the Catalan (style) tomatoes with garlic bread. Not that dis-similar to tomato bruschetta you almost always get when you have tapas. Its basically fined chopped up tomatoes and is more of a sauce compared to bruschetta, and various herbs and garlic probably and some nice bread. Very simple but tasted really good. Other things we had was the pork belly, ham croquettes, a cured meat/cheese platter, patatas bravas, calamari and padron peppers. All overall tasted good. Lovely selection of the meats/cheese, croquettes were tasty, nice salty/juice peppers. Calamari actually was just OK if honest, had better. The pizzas (mine was the Vulcano) came with circular pizza cutters, which I am not a fan of, but each to their own. The actual dough, despite being Neapolitan style, was slightly under-cooked, and overall my pizza could have done with an extra 3-4 minutes in the oven. The tomato sauce was watery and the cheese could have been mixed more with the pizza. I'll return for a drink, but next time I'll give the pizza a miss.
