They got rid of my power steering fluid cause i was an easy target. I always go to these guys for oil changes. I went recently and my steering was fine before i went. waited 1 hour 30 minutes for an oil change then when i got back in my car after spending 70$ for an oil change. I noticed that my steering felt suspiciously easy like something changed i thought they might have helped me out somehow. Then a day went by when i got back from the gym my power steering went out. I had an issue with my car and brought it in. Got quoted $1000 for the fix, needed them to redo it because the part went bad (had another fix, too, so put $2k total in the car). Then my Dad's car (same year, make and model) had the same issue, he took it to a different mechanic, and paid less than half that (with the part, too). I'm genuinely sad that happened. Dropped my truck off due to low coolant w/ no visible leaks. I asked for the shop to check head gasket due to the fact there was no visible coolant leak. I was told a couple days later that it was a leaking radiator. I again requested to Cecil that the head gasket be checked before I picked it up and was told it was ok. Picked up the truck and the next day it started running hot. I dropped it back off and now surprisingly they say it's a head gasket plus a warped head. Well they didn't take the heads off so unsure how they can tell it's warped w/o xray vision. Now they say I must have let it overheat. I know for a fact it has never overheated and never got over 230. Engine runs at 210 normal operating temp. I asked from the very beginning to do a compression check or a check for compression gases in the coolant because I didn't want to put a lot of money in a truck with 240,000 miles so they made up this problem to get some money out of me anyways. read more

If you take your car anywhere, take it to Earl! He's a kind and fair owner. The employees will give you a reasonable price on parts and labor. They checked over my car and were able to tell me what would need to be replaced and fixed in the near and far future and gave me an estimate on what it would cost so I could save up. My husband and I will ALWAYS go to Earls for our car repair needs! We have a 2000 Crown Victoria that occasionally gives us trouble and Earl and his team have been fabulous to work with. They get the job done quickly, provide quality service, are knowledgeable, and are so kind! During our last repair, my car couldn't turn over a few days after we picked it up from the shop. Instead of towing my car to the shop, Earl and his team came to pick up my car from my work office, took it to the shop, and fixed it! Earl's is the best auto repair in town. It was 4:30, Dec.23 when I discovered a whining on my car. Was leaving for Indy the next day. Called Earl's and he said come on in. Started by a gentleman who still runs the company today, named "Earl" of course, this business has ran on all cylinders with each and every employee being connected to the great customer service that Earl's is known for. As a young "unknowledgeable" college student, I required some help with my vehicle during my freshman year and after a few quotes from around the town of Muncie, I was in dismay at the costs, until I tried Earl's that is. After a surreal conversation with Earl and his staff and great discussion that would lay the foundation for a lifelong relationship to this high-quality automotive repair shop, I was quoted a much lower cost for my needed repairs at a fraction of the cost compared to what others were suggesting. It seems the other local shops may attempt to take advantage of young "unknowledgeable" college students by jacking up prices, but please do yourself a favor and get a solid and honest quote from Earl's to compare. Anytime I have an issue, I take my vehicle here and refer all my friends. They are never overpriced, always prompt to call and provide updates, and an astonishing turn-around time considering how busy they are at all times. Wonderful service, wonderful people. Do not take your car here. My car broke down in Muncie and they were the nearest repair shop so I just had it towed there. They told me one of the oxygen sensors needed to be replaced. Then they called me the next day and said they found out the distributor needed to be replaced which was an extra $400. I said ok whatever if it needs to be fixed then fix it. It was supposed to be done the next morning. Day 3 of being stuck in Muncie haven't heard anything it's well past the morning so I called them and he literally forgot about my car. He said and i quote "oops I accidentally forgot to order the part" how does a professional repair shop "accidentally forget" to order parts??? It took another 2 days to fix it. Once I finally got it back, by car started lurching and jerking in first and second gear. I was already half way back to Indianapolis and i wasn't trying to get stuck in Muncie for another 5 days so i took it to a repair shop near where i live. They said that there were faulty parts inside the distributor that earl replaced and they used butt connectors to install the new oxygen sensor which you are not supposed to do!! And guess why my car died in the first place? It just needed new spark plugs. It didn't even need a new distributor or a new oxygen sensor. These guys made me waste $600 on repairs i didn't even need, didn't test drive it to make sure everything was working properly, had me stuck an hour away from home for an extra 3 days because they didn't order the parts, and had me spend and extra $200 to fix the distributor and the oxygen sensor. Oh and i drive a Honda Civic. Which is probably the most simple car to fix. like come onnnn. I am astonished at how unprofessional this whole situation is and if you take to it car here after reading this you're just as dumb as these guys are. read more

Earl's employees are very professional and honest. I drive over an hour to go there. They don't try to sell you things you don't need. They call back when they say they will call back. They went above and beyond the call of duty to help me and I cannot thank them enough. They are honest, their prices are very affordable and they will get the job done! I went in to Earls to get my car fixed, it was having trouble idling. They decided it best to steal my new K&N air intake and replace it with a stock one. You can probably guess they didn't reimburse me for the $200 air intake but they did charge me for the stock one and the labor to install it. Ethical? Probably not. They did halfway fix the problem with the throttle body but the intake had nothing to do with it and they wouldn't even give it back when they were done. Just be sure you know what you are paying for when dealing with Earl. I payed to give them a $200 intake. read more
