I came to Jiffy Lube on a whim when my regular shop couldn't get me in before a long drive. I got a…read morestandard oil change, which is typically pricy due to mileage on my car. The price here was similar to my usual spot, but Jiffy Lube also seems to always have coupons on their website for $10-15 off! The staff were respectful and quick. They did offer me "upgrades" to my oil change, but did not present it in a way that I felt obligated to say yes. It was quick and easy. I will definitely be coming again.

What should have been routine brake pad changing ended up with my sister losing function of her brakes completely the next day from a caliper coming off and therefor the brake fluid bleeding. She was towed by a nice person back to the store and the tow driver asked for JL to pay for the tow as it was apparent it was their fault. They complied. The mechanic showed my sister her caliper and instead of taking any responsibility, stated it "unalived itself". They proceeded with repairs, didn't charge labor but did charge for parts. Upon settling the bill, they put the towing fee back to her! It's such an icky thing, to take advantage of someone in that way. You think this is where the story ends but alas! The brake light came on on the way home. Took it BACK in, they checked, topped off with fluid, and sent her on her way. Their demeanor was apologetic but not enough to REFUND this botched work. Brake light comes BACK on. At this point my sweet sister goes to a trusted mechanic who discovers her brake lines have air in them. I could share more but mostly I want it to be known that the treatment of my sister was unprofessional and disappointing and the mechanic doesn't seem to be very learned in the trade of mechanics. I'm so grateful losing her brakes didn't result in injury or loss of life, but the severity could have been huge.

But here's the best part: they also offered a complimentary visual brake check and rotors! I decided to take advantage of that. When I arrived at the Meineke location, I requested the free check. The representative mentioned that another employee wasn't too thrilled about that deal. I explained that I'd been informed there was a free check available. When I asked why that didn't align, I mentioned that I didn't have enough money to cover the $101, but I assured them that I would definitely get the work done when I get paid on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025. The representative wasn't too pleased and suggested I look elsewhere. Even though he didn't want me to return, I told him I wouldn't be. As I left, I noticed the employees were laughing. I'm definitely not going back to that place. This was my first time at the Muncie location. My friends always go to a different place whenever they need their car serviced, and they've always been happy with the service they receive. I should have stuck with the original recommendation, which was Gaddis. I might pay a bit more, but at least I know I'll be well taken care of.

They proceeded to tell me nothing was wrong and it was just a old truck. I forked out $242 for a diagnostic and they replaced my cap and rotor on the distributor. Went on 2 test drives with the "mechanic" and both time asked if they would check connections from distributor to spark plugs and they said they did. I called it quits after being there for hours. The next day i put new spark plug wires on it and fixed the problem. So they CLEARLY did not do there jobs or didn't know how todo there job...

    Tire Barn Warehouse

I made an appointment,…read moreand I was extremely pleased with the service, communication, accommodation to my needs and budget, as well as the professionalism and friendliness I received. It's not easy to know what to expect, including from a chain, but I was very happy. A few months later, I needed a headlight replaced and of course went there. I will continue to use this Tire Barn. I have typically stuck with the Toyota dealer in Muncie, but with prices inflated and overblown charges, it was time to change. Sometimes, "you get what you pay for" isn't all it's cracked up to be. I will go here unless I find something even better. Keep up the good work!

I brought my vehicle to Tire Barn after it broke down on I-69 because the location was listed as a…read morefull-service repair shop. I had the vehicle towed there expecting them to diagnose the problem and make the necessary repairs. I was initially told that the water pump had failed, and I authorized them to replace it. The price they quoted was already toward the high end of the typical range for that repair, but because my vehicle was already there and towing it to a shop closer to home would have been expensive, I decided to proceed. After the water pump was replaced, I was told that the vehicle also had a blown head gasket. This is where my concerns with the service became much more serious. I learned that no diagnostic testing had been performed before the water pump was replaced, not even a block test, which can help identify combustion gases in the cooling system and indicate a potential head-gasket problem. When I questioned why this had not been checked before beginning the repair, I was told that I had not specifically requested diagnostics. I brought the vehicle to a repair shop because it had broken down and I needed the problem diagnosed. I should not have to specifically request diagnostic testing when the purpose of bringing a non-functioning vehicle to a full-service repair shop is to determine what is wrong with it. If additional diagnostic testing would have involved an additional charge, I would have expected the shop to explain the options and costs to me before proceeding with a repair that ultimately did not address the full problem. I was then quoted approximately $10,000 to replace the head gasket, which was dramatically higher than the typical cost range I found for this repair. When I questioned whether the head-gasket issue could have been identified earlier, I was told there was no way they could have known until they got the vehicle running. However, there are diagnostic tests that can provide evidence of a head-gasket failure without simply proceeding with repairs and hoping the problem resolves. I was also told that I could drive the vehicle and was referred to the repair shop next door. I found this particularly concerning. Driving a vehicle with a blown head gasket can cause serious additional engine damage, particularly if the engine is overheating or losing coolant. Later, Tire Barn told me they could not get the vehicle to stop smoking, which made the earlier recommendation to drive it even more concerning. At that point, I had the vehicle towed to another repair shop. The second shop was able to properly evaluate the vehicle and provided a much more reasonable repair estimate. There were also some frustrating logistical issues. I had to repeatedly explain that I needed to pay for the work remotely so that a tow truck could pick up my vehicle. Tire Barn initially would not take a credit card payment over the phone or provide an online payment option, which made an already stressful situation more difficult. Thankfully, they ultimately agreed to take the payment over the phone so the vehicle could be released to the tow company. To add to the experience, after everything was finally arranged, Tire Barn called to tell me that one of their mechanics had accidentally left his cell phone inside my vehicle. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating and expensive experience. My biggest concerns are the lack of diagnostic testing before performing a significant repair, the communication surrounding what could and could not be determined about the vehicle, the extremely high estimate for the head-gasket repair, and the recommendation that I drive a vehicle they had identified as having a blown head gasket. I ultimately took the vehicle elsewhere and had a much better experience with a shop that properly evaluated the problem and provided a more reasonable estimate. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Tire Barn for major mechanical repairs. Perhaps my experience would have been different if I had simply gone there for tires, but I would not trust this location with a significant engine repair based on what happened with my vehicle.
