Mothers Day provided me the perfect chance to visit this quaint establishment. They were very busy but they still gave me personal service and helped me with my purchases. I was able to pick out the perfect gift for a dear friend of mine. Don't be fooled by the outside of this store. It is HUGE! There are several greenhouses stocked to the brim with all sorts of different plants. They have invested quite a great deal of time and effort into inventory. Rows upon rows of beautiful plants and flowers. In addition to the greenhouses, there is a sprawling area in back of the store stocked with more flowers and plants. The inventory is not limited to the outside area and the greenhouses, either. The inside store is filled with beautiful plants. They have a large variety of succulents and other varieties of plants. In addition to plants, they have pots, plant coasters, fertilizers, watering devices, seeds, gardening tools and so much more. There is so much it is a bit overwhelming, in fact. The prices are a wee bit higher than you would pay at a Big Box store. However, it is worth a few extra dollars for personalized service and greater selection. Have you ever tried to get help at a Big Box garden store? It's non-existent and the selection of products is poor. The staff was great. They were chatty without being annoying and super helpful. I had no clue what I wanted to buy but they directed me to the perfect item. I never had to wander around the premises looking for help. They were front row and center there helping people. This store also has a playground to keep the kids entertained while the parents shop. Great idea! They provide carts for your big purchases because its so much easier to carry with the carts. This store is easily accessible and they have plenty of parking. There were no problems finding space even though they were super crowded. I have been back several times since my Mothers Day stop and I have received the same service quality each time. I have driven by this store a million times over the years but never had reason to stop in. I sure am glad my friend was going rabbit shopping because this store is a gem. You take a step back in time when you enter the doors. It is like an old timey feed store that makes you wish for simpler times. Trust me, though, there is nothing simple about this store. They care so much stick and inventory that it is overwhelming. I did not know where to start with the shelves stacked so high. They seemed to have a little of everything for any kind of farm animal you can imagine. There was horse feed, dog leashes, at collars, bird baths and that is just the surface. I asked the proprietor for help and he knew exactly what to get for my friend. He asked Just the right questions. He was patient and humorous with me. I could tell he knew exactly what I needed. He sacked up some feed and sent me on my merry way. While I was in the store I noticed this man knew people by name. They came in and he had their usual orders ready to go. Very nice. They sell old school Radio Flyer wagons. It feels like it could be 1950 in there, but with a 2010 sensibility. The staff, all young and friendly, rule the school. As Lydia A mentions below, they are part of what makes Cottin's such an enjoyable place to be. A "place to be"?! Yes! It's an experience! Took my weed eater here to be fixed, it had locked up, couldn't pull the cord to get it started…read more This place claimed we had not used gas/oil blend and said we needed a new engine and it would take a couple months to get one in. We knew we used the proper fuel mixture and therefore did not trust him, we said we did not want him to fix it. He said he would have to charge us $25 to put it all back together (again, seemed sketchy). We paid it, reclaimed the weed eater and took it somewhere else. The other person we took it to said it had clearly NOT been taken apart or checked out and that the problem was a blockage in the carburetor causing the engine to run lean, over heat, and lock up. They got it up and running again without any new parts needed.

I would not recommend this place for Stihl repairs. I brought in a chainsaw for repairs on April…read more11, and I took it back today, September 3, because it was still not fixed. I called them about it twice and stopped by in person a couple of other times. There were never any attempts by them to contact me. No status updates, nothing. There is a lack of organization in the shop. My repair ticket was missing from their log book. They did not know which saw was mine; I had to identify it for them. I had to tell them the case sitting in the corner was also mine. I had brought in a chain to be sharpened at the same time; they had lost it. To be fair, they were apologetic, and they gave me a new chain and refunded my $45 that was the upfront cost of diagnosing the problem without me having to ask. However, I will not be going back there.
