The advertisements featured the owners and the local feel. It showed the inventory of the store and how it was all laid out. I was intrigued and had to stop by on my next opportunity. Mothers Day provided me the perfect chance to visit this quaint establishment. They were very busy but they still gave me personal service and helped me with my purchases. I was able to pick out the perfect gift for a dear friend of mine. Don't be fooled by the outside of this store. It is HUGE! There are several greenhouses stocked to the brim with all sorts of different plants. They have invested quite a great deal of time and effort into inventory. Rows upon rows of beautiful plants and flowers. In addition to the greenhouses, there is a sprawling area in back of the store stocked with more flowers and plants. The inventory is not limited to the outside area and the greenhouses, either. The inside store is filled with beautiful plants. They have a large variety of succulents and other varieties of plants. In addition to plants, they have pots, plant coasters, fertilizers, watering devices, seeds, gardening tools and so much more. There is so much it is a bit overwhelming, in fact. The prices are a wee bit higher than you would pay at a Big Box store. However, it is worth a few extra dollars for personalized service and greater selection. Have you ever tried to get help at a Big Box garden store? It's non-existent and the selection of products is poor. The staff was great. They were chatty without being annoying and super helpful. I had no clue what I wanted to buy but they directed me to the perfect item. I never had to wander around the premises looking for help. They were front row and center there helping people. This store also has a playground to keep the kids entertained while the parents shop. Great idea! They provide carts for your big purchases because its so much easier to carry with the carts. This store is easily accessible and they have plenty of parking. There were no problems finding space even though they were super crowded. I have been back several times since my Mothers Day stop and I have received the same service quality each time. One of the most unique features of this store is there are flowers planted on the roof. Yep, the roof is lined with flowering pots welcoming the customers. Great shop.

I have driven by this store a million times over the years but never had reason to stop in. I sure am glad my friend was going rabbit shopping because this store is a gem. You take a step back in time when you enter the doors. It is like an old timey feed store that makes you wish for simpler times. Trust me, though, there is nothing simple about this store. They care so much stick and inventory that it is overwhelming. I did not know where to start with the shelves stacked so high. They seemed to have a little of everything for any kind of farm animal you can imagine. There was horse feed, dog leashes, at collars, bird baths and that is just the surface. I asked the proprietor for help and he knew exactly what to get for my friend. He asked Just the right questions. He was patient and humorous with me. I could tell he knew exactly what I needed. He sacked up some feed and sent me on my merry way. While I was in the store I noticed this man knew people by name. They came in and he had their usual orders ready to go. Very nice. It is heartwarming these stores are still around. Highly recommend this store for your animal or gardening needs. It's pretty amazing and you don't even have to have a rabbit to get great service.

Not only did this not happen, I actually enjoyed my time in there the several times I've gone in. I kid you not! Now, I fully admit that I usually would only go into Cottin's because the K would be super enthusiastic about shopping in there and I can't say I share the same enthusiasm, but oh, OK, they have a lot of awesome garden stuff and hello, are those pink flamingoes?!?! There's a lot to love about Cottin's. They rent cotton candy (COTTIN Candy?!) and icee machines. They sell all kinds of tape. They sell a lot of different colored and sized novelty light bulbs. They sell old school Radio Flyer wagons. It feels like it could be 1950 in there, but with a 2010 sensibility. The staff, all young and friendly, rule the school. As Lydia A mentions below, they are part of what makes Cottin's such an enjoyable place to be. A "place to be"?! Yes! It's an experience! Even getting keys made is kinda fun (OK, well, that's an exaggeration. It is quick and painless, however!) OTOH, you'd have to drag me kicking and screaming into one of my most hated stores ever...HOME DEPOT. Blargh! Here's to the true mom & pop sensibility of Cottin's (check out their cute retro bumper stickers while you're there and slap one on your toolbox) with their fair prices, excellent customer service and the way they make you feel like anything is possible so I'm going to start building that garden shed I've always wanted...I JEST.

We have stayed in many hotels and with the rare occasion of getting the tax exempt form to the right person we had no issues with billing at any other hotel prior to staying here. Prior to our arrival they received the states billing information and all was good. Upon check in they asked for a credit card for a $25 hold for incidentals which is kinda of rare but not the first time. Instead of negotiating with them I gave them my credit card and went on with business. The next day we both discovered that they not only put the $25 hold but they charged our personal credit card almost $75. We called their office and they assured us that it was their night person who didn't know what he was doing and they would correct it immediately. Well, after our second night there and after checking out we both discovered that not only was the original charge still on our personal credit cards but they charged us another almost $75 again. Both of us are still working on getting these charges removed and keeping a very close eye on our accounts to ensure other unauthorized charges don't show up. I will never stay here or at any other hotel owned by CAVE Inn LLC.
