I live in Olathe but visit the store at least one a month, sometimes twice. I love the whole vibe. The staff are sweet and knowledgeable. The plant, pot, and soil selection is large even though it's a pretty small space. I loved the original location, but it's taken me a while to come see their new spot. No surprise, but it looks amazing! It is filled with all the planty goodness, of course, but it is also full of fun decor, plant-related goods and more. The plant assortment is wonderful, with an awesome selection of young and mature plants, as well as some rare varieties too. Prices are competitive and affordable. The staff here are what sets Jungle House apart from other plant shops. They're welcoming, friendly, and fun. We happened to come in on my son's 5th birthday (he wanted to pick out a birthday plant). The staff showed him all the coolest plants and pointed out which ones smelled the stinkiest - he LOVED it. They made it a fun experience for us, and when he finally settled on a prayer plant, they taught him how to care for it. Highly recommend for plant enthusiasts and families alike! read more

I love this place. I cannot afford the plants or planters usually because they are priced higher than they're worth in my opinion. Some of my collection of planters do not have holes in them but I can take them here and they will drill a hole in the bottom for $1. The employees are wonderful and knowledgeable too. read more

I love specialty stores and Jungle House is just that! My thumb is fairly green, and I love outfitting my home with an array of houseplants and succulents to add that living touch. In full disclosure, I do have a couple of fake ficus trees, but those are never the focus (ha! The ficus isn't the focus!) but potted varieties are all over the house. Jungle House specializes in house plants, not shrubs and landscape options, though you could probably schlep a Norfolk Pine or schefflera out to the patio in warm months. From the virtually unkillable Mother-in-Law's Tongue to 'spider' plants, mosses, cacti, aloe, jade, and other succulents, this place has a fabulous selection. Are decorative plants your preference? There are plenty of low maintenance air plants and decorative holders to trick out your home. Did you know that certain plants can help 'clean' the air of your home? Google it and find out the top 10 or most popular species and I guarantee that you can find them at Jungle House. Prices are reasonable (these are generally a combination of plant plus container, and add in labor to pot them) and the presentation is super-welcoming! This gem literally brings life to Lawrence! All of the different plants and flowers they provide along with assortment of pots and saucers. The staff are very knowledgeable about the flowers and plants, they will even pot them for you after purchase if you want. Fellas this place is a go to if you would like to buy something special for any lady in your life regardless of relation! If she likes plants she will love anything from here and there's something for everyone. I will definitely be coming back to get a few things to add to my plant family. I just got a few pots for some plants I have in water at the moment and they said if I brought it back in they will still pot it for me. How kind! Definitely worth every star. read more

First time here this past Saturday. Such a cute, inviting little location. I really like the selection of pottery; very unique and cute. If you are looking for some gift ideas for someone who is a plant person, this is a nice option. I ended up purchasing 3 plants. My only reason for not giving a 5-star review was due to the young lady at the register. She wasn't particularly friendly like the folks working the store itself. Not a thank you after purchase. Also, once my transaction was done, she just stood there looking at me. Finally, I said, "Um, ok, can I have a bag for my plants?" --- it was just an awkward transaction altogether. It was a nice and warm experience until I paid for my stuff. Not gonna lie, I left a little bummed. read more

Jungle House is a niche store specializing in indoor plants, new here since November 9. Going back a ways you may remember this location as being a bicycle repair shop and used bike sales that moved out next to the levee in North Lawrence. Jungle House is right next to Decade Coffee if that helps. On a whim today we stopped in and immediately liked what's going on here and particularly the young couple managing the business. Doesn't take long to figure out they are passionate about what they do and very knowledgeable. Add quite personable and instantly likable to both of them. We were on foot but intend to return soon with a car to make some purchases to bring home. Want to suddenly feel like you're in a tropical jungle? Well, it's not quite THAT crazy, but doesn't take much to imagine such. See the pictures I've posted. Things growing there I wouldn't have though possible to do indoors, but they're doing it here. This is like the one authentic plant shop we have in Northeast Kansas. It is legit. So many plants and so many varieties. And they take good care of their plants and can actually pot them or repot them for you if need be. They can tell you how to take care of a plant. They also sell plant-y accessories and garden and houseplant supplies. It's in an adorable white brick building right next to Decade (coffee shop) so it's really a win win for me. I came here mainly for succulents, and was pleasantly surprised to see there were a lot of rare ones I don't see very often at other nurseries (there was a nice variety of other houseplants there as well). I ended up getting 2 astrophytum, and when I got home I noticed that one of them was rotten. I came back a few days later to return it, and they ended up being able to exchange it for a different plant at no charge. I picked up a few other plants while I was there, and he gave me a discount for the inconvenience. Overall a good experience, atmosphere, and attitude among the workers there. read more

Such a sweet little discovery! After coffee across the way at Decade my son and I sauntered over to check out indoor plants for his college house. I expected crazy high prices compared to Home Depot but actually they were pretty good. Gorgeous, healthy plants. Bought 2 and got good advice on their care and placement. My son was so happy. I was too. This is a beautifully transformed small place that feels like a botanical garden but not overwhelming. The owners clearly want to help bring health and joy to plant owners.
