Wow, what an experience this was. Let me start off by saying I have never written bad review for anybody ever, but this place was so unprofessional and just so many things that I did not like. First off everything I'm stating is based off my opinion and perception, other people may not have a issue or problem with these things but this is my review. So the first thing that irked me was that as soon as the Veterinary Doctor walked into the room he asked who was first and I said I was, we walked into a separate room where he asked questions and looked at my dogs ears very quickly, we then walk out of the room and he points at a picture of a dog on the wall and says "look at that picture, that's how I'm doing his ears unless you say otherwise". Not once did he introduce himself, shake my hand, let me know he was the one performing the surgery or anything of the matter, I never even knew his name. Also, my entire interaction with him (less than 5 minutes) he was not friendly at all, I believe he had a commanding & rude tone to his voice. After I said that I'd like to see more options of ear crops he told me to look at the rest of the pictures on the wall and tell the vet clerk what I wanted and then he walked off with my dog, never mentioned where he was taking him, the procedure, if I was allowed to follow him back, nothing. Maybe it's just me but if you walk off with my dog I would atleast like you to inform me where he is going. Next, the lady at the front desk was the most helpful with going over things and answering questions, she was great and probably the only reason this isn't a 1 star review. I know she was just doing her job as told I'm sure, but I didnt like the fact that she was breaking up the pain medication and bagging it up at the front desk, again.. might just be me but I don't think that is very professional or sanitary. After the surgery was done I was escorted to the back room where all the surgeries are performed because they were going to go over how to tape the ears since I was from out of town and not coming back to get them taped, when I walked back there the lady taping the ears was using a nasty looking pair of cutters that looked to be about 20 years old, it looked like a garden tool and I'm not sure if it was rusty or not but the tool was all brown and you could just tell it was old and unsanitary. Once again, if you are presumed to be "one of the best" and claim that you are the best ear crop vet in Houston and that you provide "world class" ear crops, I'd expect maybe some nicer equipment ? I was shocked when I saw that. Now lastly, and what pissed me off the most, when I got my dog handed back to me he was just shy of soaking wet. His chest, jaw, back paws, front paws, basically everything except his body was soaking wet and VERY very cold to the touch. The lady handed me my dog and said "he is wet because he was drooling a lot. Ok now if my dog was drooling a lot (which from the anesthesia I'm sure he was ) why was almost his entire body drenched and freezing cold? I got my dog back and he was shivering in my arms and in the car, his paws felt like ice cubes, what's the explanation for that? I am supposed to go back in 2 weeks for suture removal but I will not be returning I am completely dissatisfied and disappointed with my service/experience here. read more
