My male cat is not always the nicest at the vet, but they have never even brought up sedation like my previous vets did with him for years. Ever since I got my dog, this have been the vet that has reasonable pricing on shots and etc. They're always happy to reply to you on pricing if you'd ask them over call before making an appointment and they are very responsive towards text messages. I'd give this place 5 stars! They are friendly, the staff are always happy to help out and most importantly they make you feel welcomed. 1st appointment for a newly adopted puppy from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. All paper work was provided. (Shelter do not allow adoption without fully vaccinated) Appointment was for flea medication which requires a normal weight in. Price was for basic exam and pill was reasonable. Within minutes the bill started to grow to 100.00. "You have to have this medication for her and that medication. We will start he on this and that; monthly. She will need this shot and this test. She needs a rabies shot." "By law we would have to give the shot to your dog, if You could not provide the certificate we will have to give it to her. By law -by law." The list of obligations $$$ grew fast. The young girl made me feel bullied and overwhelmed. I kept repeating myself- only want the flea pill. ‍ When they requested the Rabies certification, I stated I would call but I did not want all the add ons. After I called the shelter and received the verification. I was on hold with the clinic (We all know the merry-go-round with the answering service.). Then the rep texted me stated they called, as well. (why call me and ask me to call if you are calling?) I texted," it was over stepping boundaries." Then, I was told my puppy would not get treated and to please pick up my animal. By the way, shelter rep stated the folder information showed my puppy wouldn't need any shots until a year. *had to give this place time for a review + it's going to be long + people have different experiences than i* I've been to this vet clinic about 3 or 4 times . So far , I've had nothing but positive feelings about this place . I'm rating it 5 stars due to the service of the place & 4.5 stars in pricing . * The front desk ladies are always welcoming every time I go & are thorough with my prices . (Will write about that in a bit) * The waiting area is clean & so are the rooms . I usually do my visits by appointments , so I usually don't wait long . * The veterinarian, (idk if there's 2 main ones, I've always had the lady vet) is amazing. She's very lovely & took good care of my cat (Michi). Which , she recently got spayed & microchipped , she healed nicely . Also , the vet techs that have helped me are also amazing. They communicate very well about prices & what medication does what. The times I've went , they show me what I'm paying for & how much I'm paying , BEFORE I pay . There's no hidden fees on the invoices they given me & if i had questions about anything , they are always answered . (5 stars on communication, btw) * Pricing wise , I will rate it a 4.5 stars ... it can get a bit pricey depending on what you're going for , but I haven't paid an arm & a leg price (Yet) . But I would prefer a semi-pricey place than a really cheap place bc it's always about the quality not the the quantity of the place (if that makes sense) . * What I also enjoy about this place , I can text them questions/concerns at any given time . Skip to last bullet point for summary let me start off by saying i was recommended this place cause it was supposedly good, but the staff doesn't tell you everything  pre-surgery, seem untrained, and lack knowledge. (I went to school to be a vet-tech) So before i walked in with her i told them over the phone she wasn't being friendly. (If needed my cat isnt hard to restrain. Restraining animals is one of the first things you learn ) . Not even10 min after i drop her off they call and ask if i wanna reschedule so my cat can have some anti-anxiety medication. I said no cause i couldn't reschedule and to continue with out the pre-surgery check up. had they been well trained to deal with situations like that, they could have taken it. As my Fiance picked her up, they notified him saying they couldn't do the fecal, let him know the post op information needed when they were talking about her nails they said that we should get her declawed... now i would say anyone working the animal clinic field know that declawing is considered inhumane/ animal abuse.(But they didn't) it is the removal of the first digit in the metacarpls. (Cutting off the first finger bone in the paw) the equivalent of Cutting off a humans fingertips where the nail is. For them to suggest such an ill procedure without knowing the knowledge behind it is concerning. (its very difficult to find a veterinarian willing to do it cause its very painful for cats) Lastly they tattooed my cat with an ugly green mark on her ear ... they didn't inform me that they were going to do so. Had i known i would have asked for them not to or to do it on her stomachache. (Her fur would have grown back to cover it up) this is the first place i went to that tattoos cats in the ear, (i have had other cats neutered at other locations) i would understood if they did it to feral cats or how sometimes they clip the ears of feral cats, but this is a house cat a beautiful siamese cat (now scarred for life) that has never been/will ever be an outdoor cat. ( she is too scared to step foot outside) Overall they seem untrained, lack basic knowledge of the procedures they suggest their clients and they tattoo your animal with out informing you. Now my cat is literally scarred for life with an ugly green mark. read more

Went to KAAWS on Aldine Westfield,( 03/21), was told that office was closed , being repaired and needed to go to a sister vet on Kuykendahl. Went there, talked to an assistant, got my dog taken care of with 6 months pills. Today 06/07- need some Hills i/d dog food. Left 2 messages on 3 different phones, called their Cypress office and was told put you on hold, and then got hung up on. This office is poorly run and I wouldn't rely on them for any animal care. This place is a hidden treasure. This is the second time I've been to Dr. Genevieve Keillor. (She was previously at Thrive but I looked for her and found her here. She also came highly recommended by the employees at Fur Babies in Kingwood.) Dr. Keillor is caring and thorough. She is not about making money and gives you options before surgery. She also is open to more holistic approaches if the client is interested. And what I really appreciate about her is that she has devoted her work/life to spay/neuter to help the pet overpopulation. The office is new renovated and clean. Both of the front desk ladies were very polite and helpful and the vet tech was friendly and patient with my dog. The prices here are hard to beat. Took my beloved cat into the Kaaws clinic on a Saturday where they had kindly accommodated my request for a dental on a weekend. The lobby was clean and bright and the staff were friendly. I had called around pricing the cost of a dental and found anywhere from $700-1200 and KAAWS did it for $150! I found them very professional and the vet was very knowledgeable and helpful and made me feel like my cat was in great hands and he had the same experience he had had at other clinics but for a much better price. They called to update me after the procedure as well as when he was ready to be picked up. Highly recommend and wish I could give 6 stars! Worth the drive. Only complaint is I drove by it the first time so do a slow drive if you aren't familiar with the area! read more

I would give this less than one start if I could. Worst service ever! I was 5 minutes late for an "appointment" I put appointment in quotation marks because basically you don't have an appointment. They schedule so many surgeries in one day probably Hopi g people won't show up for their "appointments". Who runs a service like that. I was told that they could go ahead and "work me in" even though I was 5 minutes late. I was lit on hold and when the lady came back on the phone I was told they wouldn't be able to work me in. After throwing a fit she got the clinic manager on the phone who proceeded to tell me they wouldn't "work me in" because I haven't been the nicest. I was five minutes late and they were still checking pets in for surgery when I arrived. WORST service ever. read more

She said I was "rude" when I clearly showed Kaaws had an IT problem & email/texting reminders were not getting thru to me at all. Okay y'all. I just moved into town and was looking for a low cost vet for my cat and my dog. When i called to schedule the appointment i was told that it would be $160 for BOTH of my animals to be seen for wellness check and vaccines. Upon arriving to the office they began to look at my dog first that has seasonal skin allergies, the vet told me that he had an ear infection in both ears and a skin condition. So naturally i wanted him to be okay so i wanted them to do whatever possible to get him better. The vet also stated there was something going on with my dogs knee which has never been a problem before and they wanted to do an x-ray for him as well. (probably trying to upcharge even more). The vet tech and the vet were both VERY passive aggressive regarding pricing and stated they dont know how i got the quote of $160 for both. I left spending almost $300 on ONE ANIMAL and didn't even get to have my cat looked at. Save your time and money and go to a reputable vet bc this one wasn't even low cost as advertised. I came to the office at the appointed time.The Dr. refused to look at my dog..why?the nurse relayed the message that Jackson has a skin condition. I have used this clinic for several years for vaccines and dental cleanings been more than happy. I really don't agree with the Covid policy they still follow where you cannot accompany your pets inside or speak directly to the vet. My boys (small dogs) are already stressed to go to the vet much less be handed off to a stranger. I had an appointment at the end of February for a new 1year old dog I adopted to be neutered, I was never called and let know they had suffered during the freeze and were not up and running yet. I had been told then these surgeries were first come first serve. I got there right before 7am and had to be advised by the construction workers they were not open. I had also received an email with instructions for pre surgery, no reason to think they were not open. I did not complain, I waited an hour on hold to have the neuter rescheduled for Mar 29/2021. Again got there a bit before 7 and my boy was taken in around 710am. I text them around 3pm and FOUND OUT HE HAD NOT HAD HIS PROCEDURE YET!!!! OMG he had been there 8 HOURS. When I began my conversation with them (via text ONLY) they said it is not first come first serve and they are a High volume clinic. I'm now assuming the regular public has drop off times between 7a-830a so we don't see what comes in behind us and it scheduled before us. Within 30 minutes I told them to pull him off the schedule but they told me NOW he is in surgery. What crap!! I was over the top UPSET. I feel like he was then rushed in and not comfortable knowing how he was treated. BEWARE BEWARE if you are attached to your fur babies.. if you consider them part of your family and more than just a pet. Spend the extra money somewhere you are confident of the treatment. My dog was in a kennel for over 8 hours in a new place stressing out before he was taken in. I feel AWFUL! read more

I have been using the Kaaws Clinic for all my pets for several years now. Service is always excellent. The entire staff is always very friendly and helpful with my crazy menagerie of old cats, new kittens, and both my dogs! I use them for all my spay/neuters, vaccines and flea medicines. I love the low cost and excellent service my pets receive. My two newest cats are pictured...Pepper who is a bottle baby and Jack was a stray. Both of these guys have had all their shots, spay/neuter, and crazy parasite control at the Kaaws clinic. Thanks to Emily and the rest of the staff for being amazing!!! read more

I have to give a star to be able to post but if it were possible I would give this clinic a -10 or lower....awful experience. I called and told them I was looking for a new vet and I was in need of heart worm medicine for my dogs, that my dogs had just had a complete physical but my vet no longer carried the medicine my dogs could use. They said there would be no problem in getting the medicine but they were booked for the day and to come the next weekend (that was ok because I still had 2 month's supply at the vet). I took a complete medical history signed by the vet...a complete physical was done less than 2 months earlier (as I had told them) the records were on the company letterhead and signed by the vet. They told me that was not sufficient and I had to have a complete annual physical on each of the dogs. I agreed to that for three of them (the 4th had had her the week before). I never saw a vet....possibly there is one but I never talked to or saw a vet...I saw a bunch of young girls...don't even know if they were accredited vet techs or just someone supposedly working at the clinic. I had to sit in the car (in Houston summer heat and wait and wait and wait) it was 30-40 minutes each time after I would bring them a dog (I was shuttling them to keep them from overheating).....they did the physical, claimed the 3 year rabies shot for one was not sufficient and gave him another shot charging me and changing his records to a 1 year shot. My dog had to have his teeth cleaned and they booked an appointment convincing me to allow them to charge my credit car for over an additional $200 before bringing him to the car) I asked for the prescription for which I came to be told I couldn't have it.... THEY DIDN'T HAVE A VET THERE THAT DAY TO WRITE PRESCRIPTIONS !!!!!! Who had done the physical, authorized the injection....What the heck. We did the teeth cleaning on one dog and it was good but because I only have them a 12 hour denial when they called to remind me the other dog was also scheduled they kept $50 as punishment for not calling and canceling. Very irritated until yesterday and that was the clincher. It started on Friday when I called at 4:42 (they supposedly close at 6) and told them I still needed the prescription for the heart work medicine; I was told to be there 1st thing the next morning and it would be ready. HA HA HA. When I arrived they couldn't find where I had called in and they didn't have it ready. I had to wait almost 40 minutes to get a written prescription for my dogs and pay an additional $5.00 per dog !!!!. Ok I give them the $15 and take the scripts to the pharmacy. I leave, planning on doing the rest of my chores and come back to get it. There is a problem, they no longer carry the medicine in 3 packs as it is written, they only sell it in 6 packs or 1 doses...the pharmacist agrees to call and get a modification on the order. 2 hours later I get a call from the pharmacist they have tried to get hold of the clinic and have been on hold for 25 minutes, 40 minutes and when they finally got someone to answer the call they were told that they didn't have a vet on staff that could change the script. The pharmacist said she was just going to send the script to someone that might still have some packs of 3 but that is when she noticed they had not included a DEA # on the script. She called, this time 4 times before she could get through and was told that they "didn't share that information via telephone". She told them they could fax it and they don't have a fax machine (no vet no fax machine what kind of business is this). I called and got someone in 19 minutes (a record) and was assured they were aware of the problem and they would call this in IMMEDIATELY. They did NOT. The pharmacist called back to tell me she hadn't heard from them in the 45 since she had called me. I had to drive back across Houston traffic to try and get the prescription changed. I tried to call and ask them what had happened to their promise and after being on hold for 40 minutes while trying to maneuver through Houston traffic they answered and I lost my temper and asked WTF kind of clinic they were running. They told me they didn't have to take my abuse and hung up the phone. When I arrived I was not allowed to talk I was told I was being unrealistic and that they didn't have to do business with me or with my dogs....they refunded the $15 (but not the money for the unnecessary physical or injections. My dogs have had a great experience and so has their Human. Dr Keillor is very knowledgeable, pleasant and considerate. She listens to the Human which is not as easy to care for as the pet. This human has been a wreck since her Best Friend has been ill. Rinny is doing really well, and doesn't even get upset going to the vet. He gets excited to go visit. He had to undergo a carotid stick blood draw and he sat and didn't even know he had a procedure. This human would consider dressing in a dog suit if she gets ill, and going to KAAWS. read more

Unprofessional, rude and unknowlegeable. I took my cat to the vet for a simple Rabies Vaccination on 5-14-2021. they call me saying she is being "aggressive" and they can't give her the shot so they are going to sedate her. I asked them what they were going to give her and all they told me was a "normal anesthesia". They told me they would wait to give me my cat until the anesthesia wore off and she was alert. I went to the door to get her and she was still sedated. I asked them for instructions and information on the medication they gave her and any warning signs I should look for. They said "I don't know, we close in 20 minutes figure it out". I get her home and she can't walk, lift her head or anything. I called an animal ER and spoke to a doctor there and he said that wasn't normal after 9 hours and I should take her in. I had to spend 500$ to get the anesthesia reversed and ear medication because they over sedated her And apparently cleaned her ears too rough and scratched them. Now she is in pain and not herself anymore. I am heartbroken. This is animal cruelty and neglect. I have already reported them to the proper authorities. read more

I took my little chihuahua here to get neutered, and the service here was amazing! My dog, Taco, is a people-hater and does not like being handled by strangers. Surprisingly when I took him here, he instantly loved the vet techs here and was really excited. When I came to pick him up he was so happy, even though he had no more balls, I can tell he was treated properly from the way he acted. 5/5 stars! read more
