My eyes itched as I woke up, in the afternoon, at field work at nature center, at night - almost all darn day. Other physicians and PAs have suggested allergy medications, ointments and ocular specialists. Failing to find such a physician in my own service, I chose a specialist based on Yelp and Google reviews. He noted an irritation on the edge of the eyelid and suggested cleaning with baby shampoo followed by warm compresses as necessary. Son-of-a-gun, it worked!!!!!

Our EYES are windows to the world so because of my personal experience, I am highly endorsing Dr…read more Richard J. Grostern for reasons that are too good to be true. I have a macular hole in one eye and a mucular pucker in the other, which creates underlying issues with vision. In addition, I had cataracts/. Cataracts needed to be corrected first before going any further. Whoever reads this, please pay attention to how you're treated by a Doctor before agreeing to surgery. Follow your instincts and it'll pay off. Dr. Grostern was my second choice to interview (did quite a bit of research online), and I couldn't have chosen better. This I'm sure of. From the beginning to the end (and my issues behind the retina may never need to be addressed, but time will tell), vision in my left eye is 20/20 and tomorrow, I'll find out about the right eye. Dr. Grostern was so worth the wait. My vision is awesome! Thank you Dr. Grostern for being you. .

First, Dr. Palmer was running an hour behind on appointments, and the front desk didn't even have the courtesy to tell me when I checked in, only when I asked 45 minutes past my appointment time. Next I met with members of Dr. Palmer's staff. All of whom were very friendly and informative. They are the ones that get the 2 stars. They conveyed my situation to Dr. Palmer who told me it wasn't as bad as it could be (true but it still sucks when your eyes feel constantly irritated) and then offered to write me a prescription. Several other doctors had specifically advised against the drug because of side effects so I asked Dr. Palmer why he thought it was a good idea. His only response, I like it and think it works. This is how Dr. Palmer was with most of the questions I asked that were a little more specific. I know doctors are busy, and I know patients can be annoying, but I didn't like that I felt badly for asking questions.

During the visit, Dr. Basti explained the procedure he recommended. I then asked whether he could explain it to my friend, who had accompanied me and was waiting in the waiting area. He replied, "I don't like repeating myself twice." His nurse brought my friend into the examination room. When she arrived, Dr. Basti again stated that he had already explained everything to me and that he did not like repeating himself. I found this interaction unnecessarily disrespectful. I should have been able to ask for the information to be repeated for someone supporting me without feeling dismissed or uncomfortable. Clear, respectful communication is an essential part of patient care.
