    OH SO HOT miso ramen
    Aanandi M.

EAK Delicious ramen!! I had the oh so hot miso ramen and I polished it off. The noodles to broth ratio was perfect and the tonktsu was melt in your mouth. My only complaint was that it wasn't spicy enough. I asked for the spiciest level and I felt it could use more chili. However, Japanese food isn't typically spicy so I'm not too cut up. My friends got the yakiniku bowl and the zebra ramen, and were kind enough to let me try a bit for the review. The yakiniku was good, but just your average bowl. I think it could have had more meat for both of my friends to eat. The zebra ramen was also fabulous! I could really taste the butter in it. I also appreciated how this place did not skimp on the veggies and meat. That's a big pet peeve of mine. Service was also great and the ambience was lovely! I enjoyed the all wood decor and the adorable signs. Next time I'd like to try their happy hour menu! They have a toki highball for 6 dollars!

I came here for their dinner service and thought that it was solid! Located in Hell's Kitchen, this Japanese spot offers a variety of Japanese dishes from sashimi to rice bowls to ramen to other small bites. Service here was fairly quick. We ordered their takoyaki, spicy fried rice, mapo ramen, and their zebra ramen. Everything was pretty good! The takoyaki was crispy and had big pieces of octopus in it (I just wish they also added bonito flakes to the takoyaki), and the spicy fried rice was full of flavor. Both of our ramen choices were full of depth and great for a cold day. Not a bad spot for some casual Japanese food!

For a ramen bowl that is named after their restaurant, this ramen is so boring. Their EAK shoyu ramen is Shoyu broth, noodles, seaweed, spinach, and chashu. It is exactly as described on the menu, but I regret investing $17 + tax on this basic bowl that represents their restaurant by name. I feel confident that I can find more in a ramen for the same price. In my craving for ramen, this review is to remind me that I will not be coming back. My apologies for forgetting to take a picture of the menu, but the ramen section was not very impressive. There is vegan options. The service and environment is perfectly fine. I feel well respected and in a comfy space. EAK gets a 2 stars on my review due to its disappointing bowl at a price that overrepresents its value. While the shoyu broth was good, I feel that I could have had a more interesting bowl elsewhere

EAK is conveniently tucked inside Moynihan Train Hall, which makes it an easy stop if you're passing through or killing time before a train. I've been here twice now, and both visits were... fine. The first time, I ordered ramen. It wasn't bad, but something about the noodles felt a little off... texture-wise, they didn't quite hit the springy, satisfying bite I expect from good ramen. This time around, I went with the chicken curry instead. The flavor was decent, but the chicken katsu came out uncut, which made it awkward to eat with the provided plastic utensils and chopsticks. It's a small thing, but it matters, especially in a busy transit setting. That said, the staff deserve credit. Everyone was cool, chill, and efficient. Service was quick both times, which is exactly what you want in a train hall. Convenient and serviceable. But for the price and the setting, I keep wanting just a bit more polish and flavor to make it worth a repeat detour rather than a default option.

EAK Ramen was super good! I love Shoyu ramen the most, and theirs lived up to my own standards. I like a cloudy, flavorful broth, and not all Shoyu ramen has that, but EAK did! We also tried the fried rice, which was served tableside in a hot pan, so we got to watch our server stir the egg, which was fun! It was on the less expensive for New York, and it was quiet enough for conversation. Very lively restaurant though. Service was attentive. I'm definitely adding this to my list of spots to take people before a Broadway show!

The server Elvis was courteous. I enjoyed the Ramen, pork/chicken for the most part. I wanted it to be better than anything I've had before but it was good similar to others. I was able to eat and have a long chat with a friend for a long while and it was a cozy and upbeat environment.

I just just went into this restaurant have no expectations and it was a complete hit .The veggie ramen was more on the clear side so it was very light and flavourful. The gave generous bowl of extra brother just $3 .The restaurant interiors were mand edgy. Service was quick.

This is a cute restaurant sucked away in house kitchen. The prices are decent. There are quite a different variety of options along with Ramen, small plates, cold, and hot plates, and even sushi. The staff was very friendly and didn't bother too much, but made sure that our drinks were always full. There was music in the background at a decent level, although the place can get kind of loud because it was completely full. Overall, a good time and worth checking out.

E.A.K is the best Ramen hands down. This area has many options but for some reason the aesthetic of this place caught my eye. It was packed with people and we still decided to wait just cause I was really in the mood for ramen. The minute we were seated I had to take a photo because I felt the place was so beautifully detailed that it made me feel comfortable just being there. I wish I would've asked our server for her name cause she was so friendly and made the best recommendations. The first ramen we ordered was the spicy (mild) which was delicious. Full of flavor and literally the best egg I have ever had in my life (no joke). Noodles were perfect, not too big or too thin. The food was so good that we went ahead and ordered a third bowl of soup which I didn't even think we could fit but it was soooooo worth it and we definitely ate it the next day. I will be returning here they are awesome in every way and I'm so happy I found this place cause I don't know if I'll be exploring other ramen spots for a while. 100000% recommend.

Amazing ramen, best ramen I've ever had in my life. Do not get the octopus wasabi appetizer it is terrible but other than that delicious food. The place is a small hole in the wall, well lit, with great service.

This ramen restaurant I've must of walked past it so many times before. They are right in the middle of Restaurant Row on 46th Street between 8th & 9th Avenues. E.A.K. Ramen restaurant was pretty busy and there was a family checking out the menu before walking in. It was a solo dinner night and was easy to get seated just for 1 pax. I could already tell that this restaurant must be good because I could hear 2 tables away from me speaking in full on conversation in Japanese. What a good decision to try this place out for my first time. Was first offered a glass of ice water, instead I asked the server if I could just have hot water instead. She served it in a copper cup! Almost made me want to order a Moscow Mule, but I'll save my alcohol appetite for another occasion. Quickly ordered an appetizer, pizza gyoza. Then had to decide which ramen to chose from. Picked the Oh So Hot Miso Tonkotsu Ramen, but asked for mild please. Have your stomach ready to enjoy some good dashi, fresh and hot gyoza, and great customer service. This place is great, I'd recommend it to anyone craving Japanese Ramen! Just a few blocks from Times Square, right in the middle of Hell's Kitchen, the price is right, the atmosphere is fun, cool neon lights, full bar too! Oh and very clean all-gender restrooms. Happy Pride Month!

My boyfriend and I loved this place so much we came two weeks in a row. The ramen was sooo good and perfect for the cold weather, and the alcoholic drinks were just as great. Shoutout to the staff for the awesome recommendations everything hit! It was busy both times, but we sat at the bar and got seated pretty quickly, which we didn't mind at all because the vibe is really good. Will definitely be back

    Rishmithaa S.

Nothing to complain about the ramen but there was just a terrible smell in there. Almost like tee sewage. And I don't know where the smell was coming from but I'm sure everyone there smelt it. Also our server forgot the additions we made to our ramen.

You don't even see the face of the person who brings out the ramen which gives the whole process a mysterious bank teller vibe. With all this, the classic tonkotsu ramen ($23) with slender noodles nearly gets overshadowed, but don't fret since it's fantastic. I believe when you're done, you just get up and leave. For a restaurant, especially one serving customizable ramen dishes, with a allergy list post on the wall by the counter where I sat at B1, a little flexibility or empathy toward food allergies would go a long way. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which made the overall dining experience uncomfortable. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and sadly this visit fell short. The smashed cucumber was good. Spicy dumpling was good. Ramen broth was light, not as rich or flavorful as others.
