We live in the hills in Los Angeles County and our chimney weighing over a ton has settled a few inches over the last few years, creating leaks in our roof with rain and pulling the floor around it. We decided with Eaglelift as they have the technology and experience of doing such work. We worked with a geo-engineer who drew up plans for installing 6 helical piers to support the chimney's footing toward halting the settling once and for all. The job also included sealing in the holes dug with high-density polyurethane foam which solidifies into solid rock, holding the helical piers, the clamps into place. The most exasperating part of working with Eaglelift was the scheduling and how our start date kept getting pushed back for months. It was scheduled as a 4.5 day job, but with rain and other challenges it ended taking up 2.5 weeks. That said, having experienced the curve balls that came with the foundation work of our chimney, it is understandable how our original start date got pushed back the way it did. My biggest angst about the job of reinforcing the foundation of the chimney was having to tear up our flooring, and the potential cracks in the old brick chimney, which towers over 20 feet tall. I was fortunate though to have a great team working at my home. They took care to cover the traffic area of the flooring with heavy paper, sealed off their working area with plastic and with a zipper to enter and exit. And when it became clear they needed more flooring to cut into, they helped me move and cover up the furniture. The team was made up Ramiro (the foreman) with colleagues Nick, Edward and Jose, and I can tell you, with all my years of remodeling and construction workers, these guys were a nice bunch to have around. They were pleasant, they enjoyed their work, and worked their tails off. The most nerve wrecking part for all involved was the lifting of the chimney by just over an inch, which was successfully achieved without any damages to the chimney and its footing, not to mention the rest of the house. I spoke directly to the owner after he reached out and he was very apologetic and they seemed determined to make things right. Project finally got a start date on 7/25. I was able to discuss the scope with the project manager and the crew got started right away. The work, installation of 16 push piers and void fill took 5 days instead of the originally quoted 7-10. The crew (Brandon, Ricardo, and Ivan) were courteous, efficient, and cognizant of our needs (access across doorways, warning before noise, calls before arrival). They often stayed a bit late to make sure excavations were safe and open holes were blocked off. They subcontracted a ground penetrating radar tech to mark out utilities within the slab to avoid any mishaps when drilling for injection ports. They lifted and stabilized the slab and performed the void fill so that our floor is probably as strong as it was when it was first constructed. They were fairly good at communicating possible change orders and were patient with my 4 year old who wanted to jump in every hole. Overall they were a wonderful crew. I knew from the plans that the work would be fairly destructive to surrounding yard and interior floor. As we have a series of interior projects (flooring, kitchen remodel, etc.) slated we gave the crew a bit of free reign in their work; The slab lift opened up some old patches, the void fill popped a few portions of our laminate floor, and a door got jammed as it was originally hung when the slab was sinking. Interior projects are not within Eaglift's scope so if you do not plan on doing an interior remodel I would engage in alternate plans for void fill. However as we are basically remodeling from the bottom up, the damage, while inconvenient, is not a deal breaker. There was dust left after drilling for injection ports and some interior concrete cutting when the plastic they used to isolate the area mistakenly ripped. The did their best to clean up afterwards but we still have some areas where we are finding dust. Billing was easy and their accounting was very accommodating when we wanted to split up payments. We had some discrepancies on some change order paperwork but that was easily dealt with over email and correct balance was invoiced. As with any contractor, you are best served by being informed. Ask what the crew is planning for the day, check against your plans, and be present for any inspections, or walk throughs. Eaglelift came through efficiently once work started. They did the job well and were consummate professionals. I would definitely recommend that you include them in your quotes for slab and foundation work for either commercial or residential projects. The delay was a huge drain on our schedule which keeps them from getting 5 stars, but that was likely an uncommon occurrence. I would recommend talking to their scheduler as well as their project engineer to get a realistic start date. They will know what their field crews are up to far better than someone coming in to provide initial quotes or draw up plans. read more

I have a small house in the mountains with one side sinking, especially one corner. Turned out that a previous owner had "repaired" the foundation in that corner by having concrete injected under the house (mud jacking), and my foundation went from about a foot thick on one side to over 3 foot thick in that corner. Required a lot of extra digging & jackhammering. I did have a couple of issues: we couldn't completely level the house because I have a 2-story deck on that wall with upper 4x12 support beams that run all way through the house, The beams were raising the upper deck and started ripping the wood. This potential issue did not come up during my initial consultation. It would have been nice to have been given the option of including the deck in the lifting process. I don't know for sure if we could have lifted all of the way, but on Ben's (Forman) recommendation I made the call to stop lifting. I am in the process of shimming my upper deck's support beams before the first snow. I also have 2 huge windows in that wall that ended up being a concern during the lift yet this also did not come up during my consultation. Probably wouldn't have made a difference but it would have been nice to have been made aware. I am giving 5 stars because of my experience with Ben & his crew. Everyone Introduced themselves & were very respectful & professional. Ben was very upfront and matter-of-fact about any and all issues that came up. He worked with me to help make some of the decisions, such as the aforementioned decision to stop lifting. They were a great group of guys to work with. They also finished the work in 1 day. Again - I have a small house so it was just 5 piers. Although we didn't get the house level again, it is still better than when I bought the house. I knew going on that there was no guarantee on how much lift could be obtained. But they do guarantee stability. If you are considering lifting your house, do some research first. I have 2 doors that won't close anymore because the lift tweaked the frames. I had already read about this beforehand so I was prepared for it. read more

Eaglelift did a great job at my house in Fullerton, CA that had cracks on the walls and ceilings. I had multiple companies come out to offer estimates. I wasn't just looking for the lowest price, but I wanted the company that could best analyze, assess, and fix my foundation problems. I had Sabre and Daulinghaus come out, but I went with Eaglelift because they communicated well and offered the best solution to fix my foundation problems. They installed 15 push piers along the front of the house, and installed poly throughout the rest of the exterior foundation walls at 3 feet and 7 feet. They also fixed the post and piers under the house. Their crew was very friendly and professional. Overall I am happy with their service. As I am selling the house, my main concern was the cracks and I did not want to have any issues pass on to the new owners so I spent a lot of money to have it done right and professional. It is too early to tell if any cracks will persist in the future as the work was just completed, but they offered a 25 year warranty on the push piers and 2 year warranty on the poly so this was very reassuring. read more

I hired Eagle Lift to install piers under my foundation, which had slight settling, just a couple of inches. My experience was not positive. Here are some facts that factored into this negative review. 1. I went with Eagle Lift not because they were the cheapest contractor, and I had 4 contractors submit quotes, but because they said they could start in November 2016. I asked them if that starting date was firm and they said yes. So, I signed the contract, and then when the time came, they told me they could not start until December. (I probably should have stopped right there.) The start date was important as we have a rainy season here which starts in December, and I had other projects lined up, which I ultimately had to postpone and incur additional costs. 2. Another factor in selecting Eagle Lift was that they said they could do the job in about two weeks. It took THREE MONTHS! In fairness, we did have a very wet winter here and we are on a slope (which was made clear to them right at the start). Still, factoring in days off for the holidays and rainy days, which they did not want to work in, they actually worked way, way longer than the initially quoted two weeks. They also did not work on some days when it rained the day before. 3. I also contracted with Eagle Lift to install a support beam under my house. The beam was supposed to be supported by adjustable steel brackets, for which I was to pay extra. They installed 4x4 wood supports instead. When I saw and questioned this and asked for a price adjustment, they said they would come back and install the steel brackets. The lesson here is to watch every single thing they do. Also, all work was done under a permit. The building inspector said the supports should rest on a 2'x2'x2' concrete supports poured into the gound. Eagle Lift installed a far smaller concrete supports, more like 1'x1' by a few inches deep. 4. They damaged the siding of my house, punching large holes in places and badly scraping up other places. (I have pictures of all of this.) They also piled dirt well up on my siding, when I told them, based on what the building inspector told me, dirt should be at least 6" below wood siding. I gave them several reminders about this and finally had to go out myself and start digging with a shovel. Not fun when you are paying well up in the 5 figures for a job. 5. In some areas, I had wire mesh to prevent mice from coming under the house. They removed the mesh and did not replace it. Now, the mice have returned. 6. I hired a structural engineer to plan the installation of the piers and had an engineer on-site to monitor the work. Near the end of the project, the engineer requested to have a test performed on the four horizontal piers they installed. Eagle Lift tested only one horizontal pier and refused to test the other three, going against the structural engineer's request. Ultimately, the structural engineer would not give me a clean approval letter because of that. I had asked the structural engineer and Eagle Lift to resolve this issue between them, but they did not. 7. The communication between Eagle Lift and me, and Eagle Lift and the structural engineer were far from optimal. Many calls and emails were not returned in a timely manner or not returned at all. Based on my experiences, I recommend to anyone to watch every single thing any foundation contractor does, and watch every day. Hire a structural engineer to monitor them and make them do everything the engineer requests, or withhold payment. Watch your property to make sure they do not remove anything without your approval, and if they do, they replace it. Finally, watch out for any damage to your property while they are on site. read more

I hired Eaglelift and it was the biggest mistake of my life. One room needed lifting as part had sunk due to an old addition. I checked yelp reviews and called Eaglelift. An Eaglelift salesman insisted the entire home needed lifting and assured me it would be level and stable. He said I would barely notice holes in flooring where foam was injected into the slab through metal tubes every four feet and it was a 3-4 day job. I took pride in my home of 14 years it and and wanted it to be done properly. After 9 days of "lifting" and shaking, the salesman returned to my home and announced they was done. He said "You wanted level, you got level." It didn't look level as the floor in the large room was sunken in the middle, living and dining room floors had a downward pitch. Another room has a noticeable uplift on one side. Some doors no longer closed and there were gaping new cracks. The house was filled with dust, flooring had half dollar sized holes every 4 ft through marble, wood, tile and carpet slashes where foam was injected into the slab. Metal tubes in a bathroom floor still protrude almost an inch from the tile (ouch), in another room the tube actually lifts almost a foot above the floor (they're suppose to be unnoticeable)! Foam invaded a small crack in a water line and had spread and solidified into the pipes making my kitchen no longer functional. Eaglelift had said foam could be removed from pipes. It can't. It sets like concrete in pipes under the slab. Radiant heat throughout the house was destroyed by tubes hitting coils in the slab. I don't blame the crew. They were just following orders, were overworked and whisked off to another job. I haven't had heat, use of the kitchen and 90% of my home for 2 years. Floors are separating, tiles cracking after lifting. It looks like a 9.0 Earthquake hit it. Realtors and contractors agree my once beautiful midcentury home, after Eaglelift, is now a teardown. The nightmare with Eaglelift has been a body blow and hurt every area of my life from family to finances. Not how I expected to spend my Golden Years. Be very, very cautious. read more

Their whole team is amazing. Truly professional. Our job was a small job for them but big for us. We were treated just as important as their other jobs. Always responsive to our communications. Kept us informed every step of the way. On top of all that, they did exactly what they were contracted to do. One side of our free-standing garage dropped about 4 inches, cracking the slab. Five stars for communication, honesty and integrity! After a horrible experience with another firm we had Eagle Lift out to assess our foundation - scheduling was easy, followup was excellent. I can't rate their actual service because, despite the $20k foundation work bid from the company that destroyed our back patio slabs with impressively bad over lifting, our foundation Is just fine! Mr. Foley took time to walk us through the various things we would expect to see if there were problems and was gracious and kind. We'll happily have them back if a problem does arise. I waited two weeks and no one called or emailed. I then went directly to their website and took the time to fill out their contact form for a consultation. A week later and again, no reply. Set up an appointment through Service Magic for foundation work with Eagle Lift, we received a confirmation of appointment @ 12:30 with tech Elias Zapata. On the day of appointment 12:30 came and went, no call, no show after repeated attempts to reach Mr. Zapata about our confirmed appointment he gave us a story about being double booked (mind you he did not tell us this himself ahead of time or even hours after the missed appointment). We rescheduled with Mr. Zapata for the next day first thing in the morning at 9:00 am, however at 8:00 the morning of our second confirmed appointment, Mr. Zapata sent us a text (did not call us), he was not going to make the second confirmed appointment. I could not have picked a better company! I live in a soils area in the city of Torrance where the ground constantly moves and I continue to have issues with my doors and cracks in my drywall. My fireplace had sunk almost 2 inches and I couldn't watch the problem continue. I decided to search around for companies and this was my experience: I got an initial quote from a different company that wanted to do the work without permits. I was very skeptical and am very happy that I decided to switch and found EagleLIFT!! The office staff and all Crew members were extremely professional and did a phenomenal job. The work "21 piers" to lift my foundation was done in 1 week. Every day the crew was working tirelessly in the heat and were on time and worked full days. I have to single out a few of the employees due to their work and relentless follow up. I can not thank Dave enough for dealing with the City of Torrance and the permit process. He kept me informed and traveled far just to get the corrections completed in a timely manner. We had a very bad experience with them. As a true customer --our experience was so disappointing and they caused thousands of dollars in damage. We used them last year and was very happy with their service. When we had a warranty issue we called them again. We also needed more foam injection is another part of the house. This time their contract doesn't hold them liable for any movement after they do their injection work and you are required to initial a clause that absolved them from any damage they cause from their work. They hit two pipes (they don't do any sort of investigation of where pipes or utilities are under the slab). One break was obvious and a plumber was called to repair it - they paid 60% of the cost as a good will measure. We discovered they hit another pipe under our bedroom a week later - so water was running under our house all that time. It cost use around $7000 to repair this - EagleLIFT pointed to the clause where they weren't responsible for any damage they caused but did ultimately offer us a settlement that was better than nothing but did not make me happy.Use them if you don't care if they break your pipes. Oh, and they changed the conditions of the warranty of the work they did a year ago, so now I basically have no warranty on anything since the new contract says they don't warrant over any future movement after they do their injection. read more
