I have taken classes at many other studios in the area (Radiant Hot Yoga, RA Yoga, etc.), and this was one of my favorite classes I have ever taken! The studio is beautiful and so clean. Beautiful big windows overlook PCH and the ocean skies. (It's right above Summer House for those of you trying to find it!) the studio is brand new and you can tell that Christina poured her heart and soul into the space. One of my favorite parts about class was that Christina played good music!! She played popular slower songs rather than typical weird yoga music... you know what I'm talking about! The class was challenging but fun and relaxing at the same time. All in all, I had an awesome experience here and I will definitely be back!

Christina is an excellent yoga instructor who is very passionate behind each yoga practice she teaches. What I love about her is how she elaborately guides her students by walking you through each movement. This allows you to quickly comprehend and follow the flow with ease. Whether you're a beginner in yoga, intermediate or above, Christina will guide you to modify your poses to best fit your body's needs. The studio is located above Summer House and parking is pretty easy to find. I usually just park in the neighborhood by the studio. There's also a juice bar located near the studio which is another nice perk if you're looking for a great cleanse after the morning yoga class. If you're looking for a new yoga studio, I highly recommend this place. :)

The Guide: Allison Frazier * Vinyasa Flow We began in Malasana. A gentle sway. Then stillness. The studio's earlier practice had focused on Shakti: movement, energy, creation. Now, the focus turned to Shiva: pure awareness, the consciousness beneath it all. Allison invited us to set an intention. If nothing arose, she offered: So Hum. I am. Something arose immediately: I am clarity. Then we moved. Slowly. From all fours, one leg extended. Hands walked forward. The body bowed. Breathe. The other side. Breathe. We gradually climbed toward standing and began to flow. At first, frustration surfaced. Annoyance. Surprise at both. The pace was unfamiliar. I didn't know what was coming or where we were going. Without momentum, there was nowhere for patterns to hide. And yet... the breath remained steady. The room held its warmth. Allison's guidance held the way. This is one of yoga's quiet powers: It creates the space to notice what arises without having to become it. Irritation was present. Peace was present. Neither canceled the other. I could hold both and keep moving. Eventually, resistance gave way. Allison guided us slowly and steadily, weaving So Hum back and forth across the mat. Standing Bow became Airplane, not through momentum, but through attention. Let go of judgment. Let go of expectations. Surrender. Be here now. Pose. Breath. Stillness. Movement. "Beautiful," Allison would say when we arrived. Not necessarily when the pose was perfect. When we were there. The Sound: A meditative soundscape shaped by mantra and South Asian contemplative traditions. Near the end, peppermint drifted through the room as the music carried its own message: I honor the consciousness within. The Space & Place: Red Yoga is essentially one open room: the entrance, cubbies & practice area sharing one sanctuary. Mirrors. Dark wood. Soft curtains. Warm light. Small contemplative figures listen, look inward, and offer reverence. Summary: Allison closed by honoring the place within where the entire universe resides. The practice had made room for all of it: movement and stillness, irritation and peace, our patterns and the awareness witnessing it. When we meet in that place, we are not separate. We are one. Field Note: Stillness was not the absence of movement or emotion. It was the awareness that remained while everything else moved. Practical Notes: * Small, warmly heated room (85-90°F). * Classes run about 60 minutes. * Beginner-friendly. * Cold wet towel at the end of practice. * Aromatherapy. * Bring: Water, a mat (rentals available), and patience for a slower pace if you're used to momentum-driven flow.

This suggests there would be no long-term commitment and you could cancel without much hassle. The exact words in the text were, " You can cancel anytime and our cancellation policy is within 30 days. In my calendar reminders, I entered to cancel the membership on May 10th. Then... Change in Terms: On May 3, I received a text stating I must provide 30 days' notice to cancel. This contradicts the initial communication about the ease of cancellation. The learning lesson is that this company will say anything to get you to join AND/OR there are people out there who don't know the difference between "within 30 days and minimum of 30 days." Beware!!

Front desk staff was very friendly, courteous, and efficient. It was super easy to redeem my free day pass and didn't need to present anything as I registered online (super easy as well). I took a 30 min cardio sculpt class and a 30 min band camp class in the group X room. Unfortunately I did not get the instructor's name (class schedule is updated in real time online so it's not showing) but she was very cold towards me and not personable as I was the only male in the class and my instincts told me she was not comfortable with that. As for the classes, they were free formatted and just ok (I did work up a decent sweat).

Management has changed, and the school today deserves to be evaluated on what it is now. The teachers are excellent. Many have advanced degrees, and we have been impressed by both the academic rigor and the individualized attention our children receive. Our kids are scoring very well on standardized tests, but academics here are not limited to worksheets and test preparation. There is a strong emphasis on hands-on learning, curiosity, and actually understanding the material. I also appreciate that the school recognizes that young children need movement. They have three recesses during the day, which initially sounded unusual to me, but now I think it is one of the school's strengths. The kids have opportunities to run, reset, and come back ready to learn. The four-day school week took some adjustment, but we came to appreciate the Fridays off, and our kids genuinely benefit from having that break. For families who need Friday childcare or activities, there are also many Friday programs available in the area. We came to Innovate from Challenger, where our children were doing extremely well academically. We did not leave because we were unhappy with their academic progress. What we found at Innovate, however, was something we value even more: strong academics combined with warmth, individualized education, and a real sense of community. You truly feel like part of a family here. Our kids love going to school and are excited to tell us about their day, which says a lot. The school is described as having "conservative values." In our experience, I would describe the culture less politically and more as traditional, old-school values: merit, hard work, personal responsibility, kindness, and community service.

What I love is the small class sizes, individual attention given to the students, no homework, and 4 day school week. I love no homework and the four day school week because it prioritizes our family time in the evenings. We don't spend our evenings after school stressing about assignments. I also love that they make it easy for parents to get involved. I'm able to volunteer in her classroom weekly. My daughter has excelled here! She loves going to school and used to be sad on the weekends that there isn't school 7 days a week. Our youngest daughter has blossomed going to Innovate's preschool this year. She is so happy there and I can tell the staff truly value her and care for her. I think because Innovate is such a new school they have had many growing pains but these haven't affected our family in a negative way. Dr. Geri has been a great addition to the school.
