I spent significant time coming to this studio, and spent money on many private lessons. Although the instructor is a very good dancer, likely the best Latin dancer in the Boise area, he can be very rude and unprofessional during lessons. For example, at one lesson that I paid good money for, he rudely told me that I was a "D student". Females are treated unfairly at this studio. Male students get private lessons with the male instructor, and get a partner for their lesson so the instructor can observe. However, female students pay the same price, get a male instructor (who in my opinion doesn't know the basics of female technique), and do not get a partner. I spent all my lessons being told that I didn't know how to turn properly. However, I went to one lesson at another dance studio and learned how to turn, and had a partner to dance with. I also was treated with kindness and respect at the other studio. I can't believe I wasted so much money on private lessons at Idaho DanceSport. If you are not sensitive and have a dancing background, this studio may work for you. However, I would not recommend it to any females for the reasons listed above. Also, the instructor definitely favors some students over others, and it is apparent at all Idaho DanceSport events who his favorites are. If you are not willing to treat this hobby as seriously as you would your job, you will not be one of the favorites. Idaho DanceSport made Latin dancing so unenjoyable for me, that I have quit completely and switched to another type of dance. I will never return to Idaho DanceSport.

I have spent years trying to talk my husband into taking dance lessons, when I finally gave up he surprised me with a gift certificate for mother's day. I jumped on it and booked our first lesson. We got to experience a private lesson, group class and practice party, maybe 2 private lessons, i don't remember but it was more than enough for us to fall in love with dancing. We were hooked after our first lesson!! WE, not just me, my hubby lives it too. He started watching dancing videos! All of our instructors have been great, so patient, fun and encouraging. We have one main instructor whom we adore and is incredible (we love you Mando!) But we also really enjoy dancing with the other instructors too, it's always nice to get someone else's perspective and sometimes hearing or seeing something a different way is just the path you need to finally get it. They truly are a team working together to help you be your best. We love festival time, it's probably our favorite time. We get to support our teachers and wear costumes. SO MUCH FUN! I recommend dancing at Arthur Murray to everyone. Bonus is that it has been great exercise for both of us and we are healthier than we have been in years! It's our date night, therapy sessions, gym membership and best stress reliever. Try it, you won't be dissapointed. BTW, you don't need a spouse or to bring someone with you, there are plenty of people that go on their own, I've also seen couples have their own lessons because there schedules don't match up or they want different things, it doesn't matter, come alone, bring your significant other to watch our come with a friend, just do it.
