It's been challenging in the past to find something she truly enjoys and feels comfortable with, especially since she has mild autism and we've had some difficult experiences before. From the moment we walked into Illusion, I felt completely at ease. The staff has been nothing short of amazing--kind, patient, and very welcoming. Seeing my daughter so happy and excited to go every Monday and Wednesday means everything to me. She's now enrolled twice a week doing jazz and ballet.

The instructors are supportive, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping each dancer grow in both skill and confidence. The owner, Mrs. Jenny, is truly the heart of this studio. She teaches classes and is one of the most kind, caring, and compassionate people you will ever meet. She creates an environment where students feel valued, supported, and inspired to succeed. My daughter loves coming to dance and has grown so much thanks to this amazing team. We are incredibly grateful to be part of such a positive, nurturing, and professional dance family.

Great studio! We have lived in the valley for 4 years and tried multiple studios. This is by far…read morethe best ballroom studio in the valley. My daughter currently dances at another studio for her basic dance lessons and comes to Idaho Dance Sport for private ballroom/Latin lessons with Tabish. He is a fantastic instructor! Such a great vibe in the studio as well! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. As a former dancer of 16 years it nice to see an instructor give corrective criticism and push you to work harder. He also is a huge motivator and lets you know how great you are doing. He has such a great balance which is what you want with an instructor. You don't get much of that in the valley. Most studios you get more of a babysitting type of instruction. You definitely get what you pay for here and it's worth every penny. I highly recommend this studio.

I spent significant time coming to this studio, and spent money on many private lessons. Although the instructor is a very good dancer, likely the best Latin dancer in the Boise area, he can be very rude and unprofessional during lessons. For example, at one lesson that I paid good money for, he rudely told me that I was a "D student". Females are treated unfairly at this studio. Male students get private lessons with the male instructor, and get a partner for their lesson so the instructor can observe. However, female students pay the same price, get a male instructor (who in my opinion doesn't know the basics of female technique), and do not get a partner. I spent all my lessons being told that I didn't know how to turn properly. However, I went to one lesson at another dance studio and learned how to turn, and had a partner to dance with. I also was treated with kindness and respect at the other studio. I can't believe I wasted so much money on private lessons at Idaho DanceSport. If you are not sensitive and have a dancing background, this studio may work for you. However, I would not recommend it to any females for the reasons listed above. Also, the instructor definitely favors some students over others, and it is apparent at all Idaho DanceSport events who his favorites are. If you are not willing to treat this hobby as seriously as you would your job, you will not be one of the favorites. Idaho DanceSport made Latin dancing so unenjoyable for me, that I have quit completely and switched to another type of dance. I will never return to Idaho DanceSport.

It's a wonderful way to socialize with other toddlers and parents too. I have seen an improvement in the way she plays with others since coming here to dance. She gets excited to go to Tutu class! The instructors are phenomenal with little dancers and meet them where they are. There is no pushing no drilling... just playfulness and inclusiveness. And it's incredible to see what young kids pick up on when they're not being pushed. My daughter does pliés, passés, and pirouettes in the kitchen daily and even says their names correctly! This is definitely a special place where they encourage fun and creativity. It's so playful and cute. Plus the owners of the studio truly care about you and your child's experience. Sugar on top: The studio is beautiful and clean.

I been taking these classes since they started about two months ago, and I am loving them! I look forward to them every Monday night. Each week, Michaela (our lovely instructor) has a new routine ready for class attendees to learn. The classes are beginner level so the routines aren't too difficult, but she always gives you options for how you can take it up a notch if you want to. I love that there is a new dance each week, because this means you can miss one week and not feel behind. It also means that new people are welcome to come whenever they want! The deets: - As of right now, class is just once a week: every Monday from 8-9pm (peep at the IG for updates/etc: https://www.instagram.com/boisebabehiphop/?hl=en) - Class costs $10, you pay via cash or Venmo each time before it starts - ALL ARE WELCOME! Whether you've taken dance classes before, or you've only ever danced in front of your mirror by yourself, you'll feel welcome and unintimidated. Michaela is a fabulous teacher, makes everyone feel comfortable and confident, and so kindly answers every question that is asked. Plus, the group that this draws is so kind and welcoming. There is zero comparison or competition here--just an opportunity to let loose, twerk a little ;) and have a good time!
