The Rhode Island Convention Center is in downtown Providence and functions as one of the more well…read morerun mid sized convention venues in New England. I found the building modern, clean, and laid out in a way that made navigation straightforward once I was inside, which is not something every convention center of this scale manages consistently. The main floor is large enough to handle substantial expos and trade shows without feeling compressed, and the configuration adapts well to different event types. I have seen the venue host everything from Comic Con and car shows to cheer competitions, volleyball tournaments, flight simulation expos, and oddities markets, and the flexibility of the space is a genuine operational strength. Restrooms are well placed throughout the building, and cleanliness was consistently maintained even during the high attendance event I attended. Staff were helpful and visible, which mattered when I was navigating a large event for the first time. The downtown Providence location works in the venue's favor for most visitors. Hotels are walkable, local restaurants are accessible, and the surrounding neighborhood is well maintained. Getting into the parking garage can be confusing given the highway interchanges nearby, so arriving with that in mind and allowing a few extra minutes is sensible. For events in the New England region, it is a reliable and comfortable venue that tends to handle logistics well.

They've got a sky bridge, connecting the convention center to the Omni hotel and Providence Place Mall... I always thought that was super cool. After competing, we would all walk over to do some shopping. The convention center itself is pretty large, I'd say. I definitely have gotten lost a few times when trying to find the right rooms to go to. I always enjoyed going to events here. Very spacious and never had any issues. For parking, there are street parking spots, which I prefer since it avoids the parking garage fee but parking garage is always convenient.

The mansion is a great place for events and meetings and can be rented out as well as the grounds. It is unique in that there are so many original pieces of the history of Rhode Island there. You can visit and see where the two Governor William Sprague's of Rhode Island lived. The Sprague family started a large textile company right next door to the home and it remains there today. The Cranston historical society holds its meetings there and it is owned by the society. You can take a tour at certain times or by appointment and they have a gift shop as well as an incredible library of resources of the history of Rhode Island.

There was easy and plentiful parking behind the building. A decent sized kitchen is right off the dining room. Here you can prepare food or have a caterer prepare your food for you. For a miminal fee we used the china, silverware, punch bowl, punch glasses, champagne glasses, beautiful silver serving trays, and some individual glass dessert dishes. Tables and chairs can be set up in the living room with fireplace. You can use the adjoining antique filled dining room with a large table for your food and drinks. Mary is one of the caretakers of the mansion. She was easy to reach by phone, arranged a tour of the mansion, and answered many questions. She was very helpful and accommodating from the first phone call till the end of the event!

The Pawtucket Armory is a historic armory building at 172 Exchange Street in Pawtucket. I have…read moreattended several special events and talks throughout the years and the space is ample and well preserved. Being an older building in a busy urban area, parking is a bit of an issue. I wish they had a parking garage built close to it, so people can enjoy the venue and focus on the event, instead of having to deal with parking. One of the major works of William R. Walker & Son, this building was built in 1894-5. Built of red brick with granite and limestone trim, it has a distinctive main block, with crenellated towers at the corners, and is prominently sited near Pawtucket's central business district. From 2005 to 2010, the armory housed the Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing and Visual Arts. It is currently home to the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center. Every holiday season, they have their Holiday Crafts show that draws hundreds. The armory was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

A beautiful building in a historic section of a beloved town. The Pawtucket Armory is probably my…read moredream venue - high ceilings, glossy wood floors, balconies and endless space. I was here for the first time during the RI Brew Fest. The large interior allowed for many vendors and partons alike. The one drawback is the facilities - bathrooms are an issue here, so with large crowds, that presents quite a problem. Parking, while available, isn't nearly as ample as the space itself, so that's another reason why I've docked it one star. However, I truly love this place and can't wait to host my own event here someday.

As part of the Faculty Club membership, you receive emails about daily specials and events such as Thanksgiving Cornucopia, Mother's Day Brunch, and Easter Brunch. We have eaten there a few times and picked up dinner for Valentine's Day. The most recent event I participated in was Breakfast with Santa. This was on Saturday, December 16th from 9:00am-11:30am. We had a reservation for 9:30am. The reservation was for 1 hour and 30 minutes. There was a long table of hot trays with breakfast items and assorted breakfast pastries. There was Vegetable Frittata, Scrambled Eggs, Smoked Bacon, Maple Sausage, Herb Crusted Fingerling Potatoes, Tater Tots, Silver Dollar Buttermilk Pancakes, Yogurt & Granola Station, Sliced Fresh Fruit & Berries. A beverage station with Apple and Orange Juice, Creamy Hot Chocolate, and Mulled Apple Cider. Everything was very good and was replenished frequently. My favorite was the tater tots, the slice fresh fruit, white cranberry bellini, and the mulled apple cider. My husband really liked the frittata and the hot chocolate. Mr. Claus also appeared and went around to all the tables to say hi. Mr. Claus was also sitting in one of the rooms where you can take a picture with him. Adults were $29, Children 4-12 years were $16, and no charge for under 3. A service charge was automatically applied. Servers were very attentive and offered great service.
