The first group of Uniplex guys that did the emergency clean up/board up were friendly and I thought the board up was done nicely. Then it went downhill from there. We waited months for a permit. We kept asking for an update and were told it was all submitted and permit should be ready any day. The blame was put on the city, so we continued to be patient. Finally one day, I decided to call the city myself and see if I could speed things along. Turns out, the ball was not rolling at all. The city has specific instructions when applying for the permit, the contractor and the engineer they chose (both to blame) did not follow the instructions and never replied to an email from someone in the permit office. So the permit delay was all on them, not the city. When asked about this or any other issue, there was always some elaborate excuse trying to shift blame. They were cutting corners, for example replacing part of the basement wall when insurance had approved full replacement of wall. In an earlier walk through talking about what would be done with our insurance agent and their guy, it was agreed whole basement wall would be replaced but when the work was being done and I saw it was only about half being replaced, I questioned it and they denied ever saying whole wall would be replaced. They didn't even put up plastic to stop the spread of dust from old cinderblocks being sawed into until I asked them about it (after days of dust spreading throughout the home). Then when we had questions about a billing charge, it would be ignored. We brought up errors in the billing and they were unwilling to even discuss it. Our insurance adjuster was kind enough to try and help us by contacting them and mediate a discussion. She should not have had to do that but just shows how difficult they were to work with. 2 stars only because the initial response was good and for the most part stuck to a schedule once the permit was actually submitted properly & approved. However after that, seemed dishonest and shady once we started questioning their work and billing for things that weren't done. I would not recommend them.

A different gutter company had given a several thousand dollar quote but had clearly not even looked. This totally backs up our 'good feeling' about LH.
