I spent years searching for an auto mechanic who is competent, honest and reasonably priced. I…read morefinally found it at Auto Works LLC. My relationship began a few years ago when the A/C on my Mitsubishi quit. The dealer mechanic at Masano Mitsubishi told me the evaporator coil was leaking and would require replacement at a cost of around $2,300. I asked if they were sure that was the problem and they told me they were absolutely 100% certain that the evaporator coil was bad. I was just about to tell them to proceed when I thought, "why not see if someone can do the job cheaper?" A friend recommended Auto Works. Over the phone, they said they'd do the job for a little more than half the price. Sounded good to me so I dropped off the Mitsu at Auto Works. Now here's where it gets good. A day later the mechanic at Auto Works calls me and says "Greg, I don't think your evaporator coil is bad at all. I think it's just the compressor clutch." That sounded interesting. A compressor is a lot cheaper. But it gets even better. He said "I don't think we need to replace it, I think I can adjust it." Most shops these days don't bother trying to adjust; they just want to replace parts. Not here. Cutting to the chase, he adjusted the clutch, and charged me about $20 total. The A/C on that car worked flawlessly for the next 3 years until I traded the vehicle in. And that's how they made a friend for life. Since then, I've had all my vehicles serviced and repaired here. The quality of service and integrity is always top notch. Their mailing address says Birdsboro, but most of us would say they're in Stonersville, on Rt. 562 about half way between the Stonersville Hotel and the spooky pet cemetery. Look for the small sign on the south side of the road. The garage is up the driveway behind a house. The shop is quite large and they also do body and paint repair in addition to mechanical work. At first glance, this is the type of place that you might not go to without a recommendation. But now you have my recommendation. So check it out.

Willie's isn't a dealership car service so you're not going to get the quality of customer service…read morefrom a suit & tie or a free cup of coffee (joking), but they're fairly reasonable in their prices and I've never had an issue with scheduling an appointment or a last-minute maintenance issue. My complaint would be their lack of communication. Having brought my car in multiple times, I have experienced the *same* issue every time and even brought it to their attention: you're car could be done for hours and you'll never know. I don't work from home so I've had to miss several hours of work while my car was "ready to go" and I was the one who had to ask. It'd be nice to get an update - even if it's not as soon as each car is worked on - but it's frustrating to wait and later find out you could have picked it up hours prior. For a small town maintenance shop, Willie's is worth calling if you're in need of a checkup or repair. They have integrity and get the job done (often sooner than later) so it's nice to drive away with relief.

I could see the sharks inside - eyeing me up. They were just waiting for me to stop so they could attack. I left. Cruising down Lancaster Avenue I saw John's Great Cars. I have heard their radio ads for a long time and drove onto the lot. Salesman Jim was in the lot and smiled and waved. He didn't rush us as most dealers do. He came over and asked what I was looking for and pointed our two options. I immediately loved the one. I asked for the lowest price and what they offered was fair and a great deal. Everyone in the process was laid back, honest and amazing. They couldn't have been nicer. John was outside washing cars.
