I was visiting from out of town so I told them that I only wanted a one-hour lane rental for sighting in my shotgun red dot. They gave me a membership application and I repeated that I only wanted a one-hour lane, not a membership since I was only in town for a few days. I was told that it wasn't a problem, the paperwork was the same. After all the paperwork was complete (took about 15 minutes) I was told there was also an $18 shotgun surcharge because of damage they cause. Since I was already there and ready to shoot I agreed. When I went to check out I saw that they had indeed charged me for the annual membership. I was so aggravated I decided that time wasn't the time to get into a discussion with them. So what I was expecting would cost me about $15 including target, based upon their website posted prices, actually cost $45! Given the archaic target mechanisms and poor lighting, this is without doubt the worst value I've ever experienced. I went to the Raleigh OnPoint range today and it was 1000% better and pricing was exactly as advertised, Much newer facility, great staff, great lighting and target retrieval system, allow shotgun slug usage without surcharges. Never returning to Eagle 1 on subsequent visits to Raleigh! read more

For a small business, they sure don't care if they earn any business. I guess they don't have bills to pay at the end of the month like the rest of us. I would never go back to this place. Their customer service is awful. It almost felt like I was unwanted from the second I walked through the door. Go anywhere else is my best recommendation!! I went there to purchase a gun, and I was appalled by the fact that they wanted me to pay for a gun in full that they didn't even have in stock. I just thought it was so shady and not how a business should be allowed to operate. I promptly left and went to a different store that a friend recommended. They treated me so nicely and didn't ask me to pay for something they didn't have in stock. They ordered it and even told me I was not obligated to buy it when it came in if I was not happy. This is a great simple 25yd shooting range for pistols, 22 caliber rifles, and shotguns(extra $15). Its probably the least expensive ranges I've been to, $12 for the basic membership and $10/hr to shoot and that includes one target of your choice. They tend to not bother you if you happen to rapid fire but they do pay attention to the range for safety. If rapid fire bothers you this may not he the range for you. Be careful with the electric pulleys for the targets when having them come back. At least in the lane I was using they dont have a stopper so if you dont stop in time it'll come slamming into your bay, no big deal but a little surprising. Only negative I'd say is they could use some more rental handguns. I think they have about 6 random pistols for rent for $10 plus ammo($16 for 50rnd of 9mm). The store has a nice little selections of pistols and long guns for purchase that aren't super over priced. The staff here are very helpful and friendly. I'll definitely be coming here when I feel the need to tune up my shooting. read more

I've heard good things about Eagle One. I'm rating them a three-star. I was new to guns and ranges. I visited twice, and I didn't get the warm and friendly experience most have mentioned. Yes, I took the short quiz to obtain the membership and read all about the rules and range etiquette. I still felt alone and unaware on my first visit, checking in to go in the range. The line moves fast, and very little explanation is provided to beginners who need to check out a gun. I felt a bit lost in the process until I met the trainer already in the range, ready to assist me. The range doesn't feel completely safe. I'm glad my trainer was there to help me because Eagle One staff checks you in, and you're on your own. I understand that this is a self-service range, no type of assistance is provided. Eagle One is not the best place for beginners. Will I go back? Of course, I will continue to meet with an experienced person or trainer until I'm comfortable. read more

I went to shoot on a couple's night. I arrived at 7:30, to be rudely informed that they close the range at 8pm. I was pissed since i drove 45 minutes to arrive there. I called before, and wasn't informed about the range hours. Another couple came in shortly after us, and was turned away as they found out the same news. To be respectful of people's time and travel they should have this information accessible. I've been here before to shoot, because the price is reasonable. However, price isn't going to make up for bad service. EVERYTIME I have shot here, I find the staff to be CONDESECENDING and RUDE. Since I stay in Durham, Triangle Shooting Academy will be my NEW place to shoot. read more

I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews here and I want to throw in my two cents. This place takes a very hands off approach. This is not a place I would recommend for new gun owners to learn about shooting. This is a place for experienced shooters to use a range for $10 an hour. I would recommend you bring your own gun, ammo, safety equipment and targets. There is a $15 membership fee for the year and then it's $10 for each shooter in a lane per hour (2 ppl max).This is a very affordable option. As far as the firearm selection, it's limited. The prices on guns and ammo are competitive with other local stores. They also have a $20 FFL transfer fee which is $5-10 cheaper than other local stores. I'm summary if you are here for instruction or training or a first gun purchase, you are in the wrong place. Come here to throw some lead down range for $10/hr. read more

My wife and I are beginner shooters who recently applied for our CCW. We decided we want to do things the right way and use our newly purchased firearms frequently while working on basic skills. The folks at Eagle 1 were super nice. It was a no fuss no muss signup. The place has cheap range costs which is what we're looking for. We filled out the paperwork, took our guns & ammo and shot away. Tuesday is ladies day and they shoot for $7. Thursday is couples day and both shoot for just $12 total. If you know your way around a gun and need to shoot it (which we all do), go to Eagle 1. We will continue to patron. Note: I heard the guy behind the desk work with a couple of folks before and after shooting and he was very polite, knowledgable and courteous. Not really sure about the bad reviews. read more

My friend and I shot here the other day and I can't say it improved any since my last visit here 5 years ago. I thought it was kind of expensive at $50 for the two of us for an hour. It may be cheaper the next time because that included their membership charges; not sure. The young lady behind the counter was very nice and the store itself is set up nicely but that ends when you go into the firing lanes. It is dark when you get in there and little room to put your gear down. It seems very dirty in there with brass strewn around on the floor except where you actually stand to fire. There's no shells there because customers are advised to police that brass; and they do. The lanes themselves are well lit and the electric target thingy moves back and forth well so you can position the target as close or as far as you want. Once you do that the target teeters left and right and you have to wait until it stops moving on its own before firing. Despite those issues we were able to shoot a few hundred rounds with no problem. The thing that really iced it for me is the lack of ventilation in there. Any other range I've been to exhausts toxic fumes and lead dust. They don't here or at least didn't have it on while we were there. By the time our hour was up we were coughing and our eyes were burning. I won't be back and I would advise anyone going especially if you are bringing a kid to call first and ask if it's ventilated. read more

So the rate for shooting here is 10 dollars an hour, 15 for shotguns. I came here to shoot for less than an hour and ended up being charged almost 40! While the staff wasn't exactly rude, they definitely did not make me feel like I was welcome here. I wasn't even offered a receipt so I couldn't tell exactly what I was charged for, and I was honestly too uncomfortable to ask why I was being charged so much, the math just doesn't add up...I just wanted to get out of there ASAP! I took a look at their selection before I left and was not impressed at all. Please do yourself a favor if you're buying and go to Carolina Gunrunners or even Bass Pro in Cary, the staff there are friendly and make you feel comfortable! I don't plan to come back here to shoot or buy unless there's nothing else, I'd rather drive out farther to get better quality service. read more

I've been going to Eagle1 a couple times a month for few years now and I've always had a great experience with the staff and the range. Sam is always around with helpful tips or to show you all the features of any gun they carry or even explain features of ones they don't. If you need a spot to go shoot, it's the perfect spot. It's located north Raleigh and right off the belt line on Wake Forest rd. I came by on their Tuesday "Ladies Night" and shot with my girl friends for only $7 each. Luckily my friends all have their own guns and hearing protection so we didn't have to rent anything but the lanes and paid for our membership which was just $12 bucks for the year. What a blast for under $20. We were helped by a few employees who were such a delight. So helpful and friendly. One of them was a shorter female, (I didn't catch her name and the gentleman helping me was Eric . Highly recommended from the advanced to the rookie shooters. Just a great place to unwind. Yeah there are fancier places that charge an arm and a leg but look, in the end it's just you and the target.. why spend all that extra cash for a little more bells and whistle. read more

This is the only black owned gun range in the Triangle that I know of. Membership fee was $12. The costs are lower than other ranges in the area which I'm guessing makes them pretty busy. The place is packed on weekends so it's better to come on weekdays. I think Ladies night is Tuesdays and ladies shoot for $10? They also offer classes. CCW is booked until January, but you can call and book for upcoming classes and pay on the phone. Bonus there's a taco truck nearby that my class instructor raved about. Wouldn't recommend this as a range for a novice shooter. There are no range safety officers and safety isn't a priority - just employees looking through ballistic glass to ensure that all goes well. However, if you're experienced or with an experienced shooter, you can't beat the price. Also, they will say that rifles aren't allowed; however, every now and again, you will see a rifle or weapon of rifle caliber on the range. My last time there, there was a person shooting an AR-15 two lanes away from us. Because of the range design (25 yards - concrete wall backing), we were constantly being struck by bullet fragments at the firing line. The person next to me was using a 9mm, and even with ear plugs + mufflers, I was jumping each time she shot her gun. Should be fine if you're the lone ranger. Also, "No Headshots". Huh? Absolute worst customer service. Disrespectful. I have purchased equipment and firearms from them in the past and had OK experience, but my last visit is just that. My last visit. I tried to place an order for two firearms out of stock and the employee behind the counter said he cant order guns anymore because of the recent legislation. I asked him what he meant, and he say's "you don't get it, do you?" And I didn't.... He says "You ever hear of the school shootings?" "Of course, "but what legislation?"
