It's a smaller shop with a friendly, personal atmosphere, and nobody pressured me while I looked around. They had more on the walls than I expected, too: everything from affordable guns around $350 to some seriously nice high-end options. I'd visited a few shops around Raleigh, and this was the first one where I liked both the selection and the people enough to buy. Kurht was there, and you could tell he cared about the customers. While I was looking around, I watched someone buy his first gun. Kurht took the time with him, and it was cool to be there for that moment. We all remember our first one. Then I spotted a Geissele Super Duty in exactly the color and setup I wanted, so I ended up taking it home. I also bought a scope, which he mounted and zeroed at 200 yards for me. The whole experience of an out of state sale was fast, easy and enjoyable. I'd recommend Tar River Arms wholeheartedly. If I lived nearby, I'd be a regular. Even from Florida, I'd be happy to order through them and have a gun shipped to my local FFL. Thanks, Kurht, for a great experience.

I drove three hours to his shop, and it was absolutely worth the trip. He took the time to answer every question, explain the differences between models, and make sure I left with the right fit for me. The whole experience was professional, friendly, and confidence‑building. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again.
