The son came to my mom's house saying they had extra gravel from another job and could offer a discount to pave her driveway. During his sales pitch, he mentioned he was 18 with two kids, which didn't seem relevant to the project. They signed a contract but later had second thoughts after realizing they weren't given a business card, the company name, or a copy of the contract. The contract also didn't include a cancellation policy. When my mom decided she wanted to cancel, the father came to the house. Instead of asking what her concerns were or trying to resolve them, he immediately said he would see her in court. When I asked for a copy of the contract and took out my phone, he said he would notify the authorities and told me "you're not being threatened," then asked his son if the conversation was being recorded. His tone and demeanor were aggressive from the start, and as he left he told us we would "pay for it either way." They also wanted to come back about an hour after the contract was signed, before my parents really had time to think through such a major decision or get another opinion. My parents are retired and were being asked to spend more than $10,000 of their retirement savings. They deserved time to review the contract, ask questions, and make an informed decision without feeling rushed. read more

The guy is a travelling spammer who uses any lies in the book to bait naive elderly folks with all the well known paving scams ("I have extra material from a big job I just completed, I've lived in your state for the past 5-6 years, (meanwhile he used the same lie for someone else half-way across the country), My wife will leave me if I don't get the work, I have 7 kids, including 3 and 5 yr olds (his wife is 52!). He has many complaints on Yelp and Better Business Bureau, such as claiming he can do a small area for less than $500, then proceeded to do more than $10,000 our elderly relative did not authorize. Many have had issues with poor workmanship, which he just blows off. He isn't even licensed in certain states to do work above $1,000, and knows it. Update: 3/2022, what I thought was a good job is horrible. Do not hire this company. I had the town highway come out and was told this company did a horrible job in how they did the pitch of my driveway. All the water runs down and into my garage it should of been pitched to flow towards the other end of my driest not into my home. Then once they came to fix the French drain, they heated the Sid East he's removing chunks and just doing patching. Well now those patches are cracking and lifting. I have cracks along my driveway. So wrong to think this was a good company and I was taken for granted. I was new in the home owners world and living here now for 4 years you learn what's right and how things should of been done . They just finished paving a 2600sf graded driveway. Excellent job. Out of 4 quotes that i received, it was the best one. Elijah spoke well and i felt comfortable proceeding with him. They own their own trucks and machinery so theres no rush and better price. On a contrary, they are actually quick. I have no idea why the previous person left them negative feedback everywhere. They did a horrible job. My parents driveway has puddles you can swim in. After telling them about the giant puddles, they kept telling my parents they will be back. They never showed up after 5 attempts. My parents are older and gave up trying to get it fixed. I told a friend not to use them, but he said the price was good. He wishes he would of listened to me now. His driveway is also filled with puddles after it rains. These guys obviously don't know how to level the item 4 out before they black top. Please don't ever use this company, they don't care about making driveway look nice. As soon as they get cash you will never hear from them again. read more

The only callback you'll receive from this company is when you're interested in having your driveway re-paved. Otherwise, they will ignore your calls for sealing or any other questions that may arise. The owner and his workers seems like honest and hard-working guys. I hired E sprague to pave a beat up 300 ft driveway. They were on time, the price was very fair to me. The owner Elijah was very pleasant to deal with along with his wife who runs the office. Absolutely awful. The proof is in the photos. It's worth checking them all out. My driveway was done (brand new) by Sprague less than 3 years ago. It looks terrible now- tons of weeds, cracks, and warping. They do not stick to their guarantee and have not been here to fix it as they promised they would. They do not return phone calls. If you do, by chance, speak to the receptionist (owner's wife), be prepared to be talked to rudely. She was unapologetic after making an appointment to do repairs and no one showed up without so much as a phone call to let me know. Want proof of what my driveway looks like? Check out those photos! Nice, eh? Oh, and did I mention that the company borrowed my wheelbarrow when they first did my driveway and told me it would be returned in the condition in which it was lent? I would NEVER recommend this paving company!! I left 3 messages within 2 weeks to request an estimate for my driveway and received no call back. My husband was able to get through to someone after 2 weeks of waiting for a return call and scheduled an appointment for the following business day which was a Monday since he got through to a person on Friday. The person who was supposed to meet us was a NO-SHOW, we received no call to cancel. I left another message to discuss my disappointment and in an attempt to give them 1 more chance since my husband really wanted to use them but as usual NO RETURN CALL not even to apologize. Can you imagine how the response or lack of response you would get if you have a problem after they have completed work for you? My recommendation CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE!!!! read more

I have to say they paved our driveways 3 years ago did a great job recommended them to friends 5 of which used them. That being said I called to have my driveway seal coated a year later but had to cancel due to a death in the family . His wife left a message to find out why we canceled but I was a bit busy to get back to her. This has to be one of the worst companies I had to deal with in a long time! I had a written proposal written up from the owner and he then told me to call back after the summer because I had a tree stump removed. He told me that the ground had to settle. Even since then I call and his wife keeps telling me that they have been booked up and so on...... then she told me that I am on the floating list! What the hell is that? We called the number given to us by someone who recommended them. My husband spoke to the receptionist (owners wife) who was nice and polite on the phone. The owner was busy at the time so he left his name and number and within ten minutes received a call back and spoke to Elijah and scheduled an appointment for the next day. They came out at the time they said they would and the very next day they were here to do our gravel driveway. I have to say not only were the guys quick and efficient they really knew what they needed to do. Our drive way is a long way up and they got it done in two hours flat and looks exactly like we imagined but better. I met the guys who did it and I have to say they were very nice polite and worked hard. I don't have anything negative to say about them and will be recommending them to others. Had my driveway paved by Sprague about 12 years ago. 300 plus foot driveway did not last more than a year. Have found patches that have pealed up are only an inch thick when I was promised 2 1/2 inches. Driveway has broken apart top to bottom while my neighbors who had their driveway paved at the same time have no issues. Just sorry I did not write a review sooner as I am now in the process of finding a contractor to rip up my driveway and do it the right way which has brought out my disgust in Sprague again. read more

Very sloppy seal coating, over spray on white porch and white lattice, all plastic, plus decorative stones. They said, owner, they could clean the plastic. My experience has been that there will be a brown stain after cleaning the plastic. Not allowing any one that does that sloppy of a job to come and 'clean'. Replacing lattice and plastic post and subtracting from total bill per verbal agreement with owner. Offered half of price in cash to owner and he accepted that I would subtract repairs from balance and reimburse him if withheld monies are more than repairs. Doesn't show to pickup cash. Afraid to see terrible job his crew did. Sad. read more
