I wanted to follow-up from my previous review of E.S Garage Doors and David their installer. We confirmed David did indeed lie to us about making the ceiling damage after we went back and checked the photos prior to the installation. To be clear, there was no ceiling damage prior to David replacing the garage door spring. Second, David claimed the original garage door spring mounting hardware on one end was not installed in the stud. I worked with David and Julian over a two year period as we were waiting for other projects to wrap up. David and E.s Garage Doors Inc. was the first to respond to my request for a free estimate. My garage door spring broke that morning and I was not expecting to take time off during my busy work day to track down a reliable, trustworthy, efficient garage repair company that also performed quality work. David quickly responded to my message on Yelp. He provided several options for hours he was available to stop by later in the afternoon, same day. He stopped by at 3:30pm, inspected the broken spring and I explained one of the wires were also broken. He quickly provided the cost for the replacement spring, wires and labor cost. I asked if these are parts we had to wait for him to order or I could order myself. Luckily, he had the parts available in his truck supply box. Before, David started working on the repair he explained the work that needed to be done and why it was important to service the garage door, springs, and parts maintained and oiled. He also recommended a silicon or Teflon spray to use to lubricate the chains or frames. I observed the attention to detail he took to ensure the garage door was balanced on both sides, the new cables were installed properly, the new spring had the right amount of tension and finally tested the garage door multiple times to ensure the work completed actually fixed the problem. Problem solved! Next, he offered to inspect and service our second garage door at a minimal cost. It was worth it. David adjusted the tension on the spring, balanced the garage door, tightened the frames on both sides, manually tested the garage door and finally ran the normal test. Both doors needed to be serviced and fortunately just one door needed to be repaired this time. David was transparent about pricing. Pricing for labor and materials were competitive. I would recommend E.s Garage Doors Inc. based on David's honesty, transparency on pricing, responsiveness, quality of work, attention to detail and all the helpful information he provided regarding maintenance, updates, warranty for labor(90 days) and materials(1 year). read more

The rate was very competitive with every other quote we received. David went the extra mile when replacing our broken spring - he noticed that the broken spring was not the appropriate size for the door, which is probably why it broke. He quickly replaced it and the supporting cables in under 30 minutes, and also adjusted the door to put less strain on the spring and lubed the runners. Here's a few substantiating reasons I loved their service: The owner replied very quickly to my yelp inquiry and even responded to me after hours. One of the those things you don't want to have to mess with....but when you do, was sure nice having these guys help me: I'm writing this review literally 24 hours after messaging them for the first time, and it's all fixed: Garage door LED light was broken and door moving slowly. I called these folks around 6pm at night, and got an almost immediate response from David who said we can either fix or replace, and have someone there between 8-9 am. the next morning. (No waiting a week til they had the time.) Their tech Jonathan showed up right on time, (who has been doing this for over 3 years and puts in new garage openers all day long, immediately diagnosed my issue, and determined that I had broken springs. He drove to Home Depot, bought me a new opener, came back an installed it, added a new keypad to the garage, helped me program both openers, and then hauled away my old stuff. All in under 3 hours. I'm not satisfied. They fixed my garage door but I argued with them a lot. Here is my story: We hit the garage door accidentally, only 2 panels of garage door was out of shape. I contacted 2 garage company on Thumbtack, didn't contact ES garage door actually. But a technical from ES garage Inc called me and told me someone would come in 2 hours. The technical told me he could fix the door to make it close/open, with $800. I told him it's too expensive, I'd replace a new one if we need to pay $800 to just fix the door. Then the technical told me he could give a discount to me, do the work for $500. I told him I actually showed the picture to some else and they just quote $200. The technical talked a lot how he would do it better, and he could go with $450. I saw he's a young man and why not give him this business, then I agreed and told him I want to fix the panel as flat/straight as possible. I need to say he worked on my garage roughly, and dropped his tools on the ground roughly, I really didn't like the way. After he put the door back on the track, he used his hand/foot to punch/kick the panel, and told me that's what he could do. I was thinking what?? come on, I can use my hand/foot to that too?? Then he told me I need to install a struct to keep the door straight, with $150. I didn't want to invest more, so I said no. He asked me close/open the door with the controller, I did, but the door could not close entirely. He worked on the opener and told me there is some issue with the opener, I need to get a new opener, otherwise I need to operate the door manually. I was totally pissed off, because I saw he didn't do his best and keep asking me spend more money. He's off-putting, telling me his job is fixing the door instead of the opener, if I want to make it work just replace the opener. I was very angry and told him I asked to fix the door, and the opener was working before his work, I wouldn't pay unless the garage door works as before. He called his manager David, we argued the same thing, I told I would definitely not pay for service like this. David talked with the young technical, after 5 minutes, they fixed the opener and told me there is a configuration in opener that needs more force to close the door. At this point, I even didn't want to argue making the panel flat. They talked about the struct again but I denied their proposal, at least not today because they lost my trust. I appreciated they can come and work on it quickly, but I really don't like this service. The price changing was fine, but I didn't see they're doing their best to fix the door, once they got my business, they're off-putting and keep asking you to buy new part and spend more money. Last, I really don't understand why they asked me to replace the opener while they can change the force configuration to make it work in 5 minutes. Some follow up to David's reply: David called me to explain their work. But I'm confused when David said the technical is not from ES garage door Inc, but another service company. Can you post the company name where the technical's really from? If the technical is not from ES garage door, why David had my number and called me and when I asked the technical to call his manager and he called David. David said they don't have a service record for me. I need to say, the technical told me if I pay by check I need to pay 10% tax and 3% transaction fee, if I pay cash he could not give me receipt. I was thinking why not pay cash and save 13%, so I just gave the technical cash after the work. I want to say more about my opener. The technical detached the door from the opener and attached the door back, but when he tried to attach the door, he didn't attach the door correctly and the opener moved future than normal. Then he tried again to attach the door, then the door was not able to close entirely. I'm not a specialist, I don't know did that hurt my opener. But I want to emphasis, the technical was off-putting, didn't try to fix the door at first place, and was trying to sell unnecessary product/service to me.
