We had a fantastic experience with E.s Garage Doors Inc. We had an issue with our garage door where the spring failed due to a snapped cable, as well as another issue with a door that wouldn't stay shut, but instead would bounce back after closing. We contacted yelp, and they responded immediately, and told us a tech would be on the way within an hour - and he was! Amazingly fast. Joseph was sent - and man was he impressive. Knowledgeable, kind, courteous, and professional, he diagnosed and fixed the "non shutting" door within 2 minutes. It happened to be an adjustment on the unit itself, but we had no idea. Joseph is the man! On the major fix, Joseph examined the situation, did some measurements, and gave us (2) options for the fix, as well as the associated price differential. We made a decision to "keep it going" rather than convert to a torsion system, and he got to work immediately. In fact, while chatting with me he was able to get the new springs on, while SAVING the original (now broken) cable, saving us additional costs. He finished the entire disnognosis and repeair in about 1.5 hours. Phenomenal! I live in Tacoma. My garage door of 20 years, which has been noisy and rattly since the day it was installed. Finally called it quits mechanically. I called E.s. garage doors at 1pm and at 4pm that day got a visit from their appraiser. I was quoted a price that I felt was entirely fair and reasonable. When I accepted the quote they said it should take 2-3 hours to install door and opener, and that it would be no more than 5 business days until they could come out. I accidentally clicked the garage door controller when my car was only halfway out. The door bounced to my car and the door derailed from the track, so it bended. It was around 2:30pm. My husband came home and found this company online and called for repair around 4:30pm. My garage door came out of the tracks when I tried to close it manually during a long power outage. After several unsuccessful attempts to fix it, I contacted E.s Garage Doors. They replied almost immediately and dispatched a technician who showed up within an hour and a half. Once here, he identified the reason the door came off the tracks and recommended a fix. I called for an estimate for replacement of my garage door opener to be replaced after the rail bent. Adi was out within the hour for the estimate. EDIT: David, the company owner, got in touch with me within hours of learning about my initial experience (see below), explained a couple of misunderstandings, said that Johnathan no longer works for his company, and personally came to my house to make sure my issues were taken care of. I really appreciate this attention to customer satisfaction. ORIGINAL: I had an issue where one of the brackets that holds the torsion spring rod to the ceiling failed and needed to be reattached. E.S. Garage Doors replied very quickly to my inquiry and sent a technician, Johnathan, within an hour. The technician seemed confused about what kind of garage door system I have. He kept saying it was so weird that I have both torsion and extension springs, and how he had never seen that before, even though I only have a torsion spring. He then got on a video call with a colleague to ask questions about my garage door. Finally, he talked me into replacing the torsion spring, even though the spring was working fine. He showed me the new spring, which was less than half the size of my old spring, and assured me that it would last longer than my existing spring, which was much heavier. This contradicts both common sense and multiple sources that I later read online. He spent quite a while disassembling everything, replacing the spring, and putting everything back together. After two hours or so, he couldn't get the door balanced with the new spring and he had to stop working for the night. The next morning, I told him that I want my old spring put back on, and I just want the bracket fixed, like I originally asked for. He tried to charge me $500 but I finally talked him down to our originally agreed price, $345. He reinstalled my original spring and attached the bracket to the ceiling. However, he left off a piece of the original bracket, saying that it wasn't necessary after I expressed concern about it multiple times. He also also only used one screw, instead of the two that the bracket originally used. Now the spring is slightly curved instead of straight, and it's making a loud noise that it didn't used to make. read more
