HORRIBLE. I've been getting roll off cans my entire career as a construction professional between building high-rises in Boston to my own developments on the suburbs . I mean I've probably have gotten thousands of dumpsters in my life and this was the WORST experience I have ever had in my entire life . I couldn't use my regular Disposal Company due to the proximity of my project so I figured I'd try these guys for the first time . I don't even know how I could possibly articulate how bad this company is . I called for a dumpster removal at my job site on Thursday and they didn't grab it until Wednesday 7 Days Later . I called every single day saying that it needs to go immediately because I have concrete coming for my trench drain. I scheduled my jobs hour by hour and day by day and I will never ever use this company again. I must have talked to three or four people over those 6 days of begging them to please get rid of this dumpster they all made a very clear that they could care less about my business. They would say I'm trying our best , we're trying to find a driver, he's leaving now and heading to your job site but never showed up , I don't even want to go on anymore . I'm probably going to need another couple thousand dumpsters for my job sites in the future and they lost all of them for one 30-yard dumpster . They miss picking up weekly trash that they are contracted by the Town to do. That's fine it happens but when you call them 3 times, leave one message and email them asking for it to be picked up and they never do it is unacceptable. They tell you everytime you call "don't worry they will be there today"....or...."your on the list today" but they never show up. I would call that lying to the Customer. Mind you it was not just our house they missed but 2 other houses on our driveway. Very poor service. read more

Unfortunately I live in a town that has a contract with this company. They are so extremely picky and will skip you for any reason with no explanation. My recycling bins were full so they skipped us. Yes that is correct they won't take it because it is full. Is that not the point??? I called and was told it was because the lid has to close yet my neighbors barrel has NO lid and they had theirs picked up. The only thing they could do was tell me I can pay for another barrel. I have been very happy with the trash pick up. However, the company has institute this new billing platform. My credit card did not work. So I called into customer service. They are unable to apply the new credit card to my billing profile. So that means I have to call the company every quarter in order for them to process the payment. The girl that I spoke to said there was no way whatsoever for her to apply my credit card to my account for automatic payment quarterly. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Worst trash company ever, and I've deal with several over the years as a landlord. My contract expired and all I did was get bounced from one person to another while trying to cancel. Complete run around. They should concentrate on providing good service instead of wasting time playing games. Bottom line is you need to read the fine print carefully. If you don't provide notice in writing at least 3 months prior to your contract expiration they automatically renew it for twelve months. They also raised the rates 90% which they claim is allowed based on the consumer price index. Now they want over $800 to cancel an already expired contract. I think the State should look hard at regulating the Trash industry through the Dept of Public Utilities now that they are basically becoming a monopoly. read more

Took over Mr. Trashman;s routes in Stow MA, and has raised the monthly rate from $44.33 per month to $ 54.33 per month with no better service at the curb. They leave the containers in the road with the lids open as they use automatic hauling to dump containers. Doesn't take anything outside of the containers. Sometimes skips the house as their truck is full. Time of day pickup is sometimes the next day with no notification by phone or email. read more

The next time Tiffany, both said Trash would be picked up. My husband is Elderly with a Torn Rotator cuff Dragging Trash in and out for 3 days! They NEVER CAME! In the past I had put out extra recycling next to my recycling bin and Harvey would take it. So I had a TV box and I put it out next to the bin and they didn't take it this time. I emailed the customer service and they replied that they don't take extra recycling on the side of the bin. Fine...so I put the TV box into bin. I folded it up the best I could ( the box is super thick) and put it in the bin. It is sticking up a bit however, they have taken the bin like that before and other customers in the neighborhood. Now it has been 2 weeks and they have not taken my recycling bin and my extra recycling in being stored in my garage. No email or call to a reason why. Harvey "partnered" with another local company and traded off our service telling us in their notice that they were "excited" to announce that we would now have another provider who we would pay the same (actually more than that providers rates) and have our recycling cut from weekly to every other week. I think most people agree that when you sign up for a curbside trash pick-up service, there won't be any additional charges unless you put out additional barrels. This company will find any way to charge you extra money, including if your barrel has bags above where the lid closes. They charged me extra weekly bag fees for two or three months. Nowhere on the website doesn't say that they will charge you for overflowing barrels. Moreover, there's no way they're counting the number of bags in each of your barrels because they never get out of the truck. So, if you think you're paying for a fixed price for trash removal, guess again. My neighbor already switched, and now I've switched. Thankfully, we live in America and we have choices for the businesses that we support. read more

I reside in a town that has contracted EL Harvey - Several times, waste drivers/ operators for my route will skip the recyclables. Tuesday is my regular pick up day. Here's the time frame: -Tuesday - skipped recyclables (called customer service and they assured me that the route is not over and that the driver will be back.( never returned) Called Wednesday - they showed me that someone would come out and pick it up. No one ever came. Called Thursday, same thing, they promised me someone would be out and no one showed up. Called Friday, once again they said they apologize that someone would definitely come out. Sat - Sun - closed Called early Monday morning. They told me that they were just picking up on my regular Tuesday pick up day. There is no accountability for this company. I closed my account as soon as possible (called on December 31st and January 2nd, as January 1st was a holiday) when I discovered my bill had been increased by 10%. I was informed this was due to a cost of living adjustment. During the call, I confirmed that I wouldn't be charged $190. However, three days later, $190 was withdrawn from my account. I immediately called to request a refund and was told that they only process billing at the end of the month, so I would have to wait until the beginning of February to get my money back. When I asked to speak to someone in billing, I was told there was no direct phone number, but someone would call me back. I never received a callback and contacted them again on the 9th and 16th of January. Today is February 12th, and it's been over a month without my money being returned or any contact from them. How many people get a 10% cost of living increase yearly? What institution wouldn't be tacking on interest for money not received along with threats to pay the bill? My neighbor and I who also has them are always afraid they will fail to keep the promised schedule. They never call you when they are going to miss you, don't text- nothing. Our condo then cancelled contract with them and it's taking them 3 weeks and counting to remove remaining garbage and their bins of the property even with multiple calls to them every day. I'm NOT a customer of E.L. Harvey. Never will be. Their driver carelessly backed up on our front yard and tore up our lawn when they delivered a dumpster in our neighbor's driveway. My husband called to report it and emailed them photos of the damage. They admitted fault but didn't apologize or offer to repair the damage. This company is absolutely horrible. Their customer service is atrocious and they nickel dime people for an extra bag of trash. They don't show up on the right day (without any notice). Also, they leave trash around the cans if something falls out, and often throw the cans to the side of the road on their sides. They left a few of the neighbors dirty diapers on the road recently... They don't answer their phones often and their price isn't competitive before they charge for extras without warning. Trash was supposed to be picked up at the beginning of the week and left it out the night prior as I always do. Driver missed my house on his route. No big deal I'll call and get them to come another day. I was told they'd arrive within 1-2 days to collect. Noontime on the 2nd day I call again and am told that my "Ticket was marked as complete" despite trash still being there. Rep apologizes for the mistake and says he will put in a new ticket to make sure it's collected the next day. Next day at around 2PM still nothing. I call and they say the 2nd ticket was never created, but someone will be out on Friday and that they were notifying a supervisor. I call 9AM Friday morning to make sure I'm on the route today. Was told yes by the rep. 2PM rolls around still no pick up. So I call again and was told there is no ticket for Friday pick-up, but they were going to reach out and it would be handled by the end of day. An hour later, I call yet again and am told to wait until next week. Horrendous service and could never get a straight answer out of anyone. Was told 5 different days for trash pick up and when I asked to just talk to supervisor to see if anything could be done I was told "none are available today". read more

Moved to N'boro in Dec 2021. Hired EL Harvey for trash and recycles. Seems simple enough. Have had to call numerous times to get pickup completed, and then they don't even show, and the ticket "expires" after 2 days. The drivers seem to go on the street next to me, but are not looking for new customers on their manifest is all I can gather. Curb side trash collection and recycling Ridiculously priced and poor communication from the company. Yes they are a Trash company. They increase their prices without prior notification. Even if you pay upfront, they will only use that amount as a account balance and deduct trash collection fees from that account. They increased the fees in December without a written prior notice. All they provided was a clause at the bottom of my quarterly invoice indicating the price increase. Very disappointed by their service, communication and prices. I contacted customer service, and they called me back and asked to send them an email. I emailed them with a photo of the box in my yard. Never heard from them again. I called them a week later.
