    Salangtang (with watered down broth)
    J S.

We had high expectations because our friends had been here before and said it was so good. We got there at 12 pm on a Saturday and it was 6 of us. The lady told us we had to wait outside until a table opened up. The place was busy. We waited outside over 30 minutes then finally went in to see what was going on and got seated. We ordered and waited an hour for our soups to come out. I got the Sal lan tang and it was flavorless and watered down. My friend got the rice cake soup and you could taste they used canned chicken broth for it. Our other friends soup was also flavorless so we figured they ran out or ran low on the soup bases so probably had to water down and/or use instant broth. The only thing that was good was the kimchi. There was only one lady working. It looked like only two guys were working the kitchen. Not coming here again.

Authentic Korean food with a hospital vibe. We got the hangover beef soup with and without sponge. We also ordered fried dumplings which are an off the menu item and bekseju! Will be back when we return to vegas. It's everything you want when you want Korean food.

They open at 8 AM and it is instantly jammed packed. Very popular and wonderful traditional soup based Korean food. They come out biking in the stone bowels. Careful not to burn your tongue. The gkakdoogi is crunchy spicy and just amazing. Kimchi is also fantastic with perfect balance of spice and seasoning.

The food was very delicious with very reasonable pricing. The kimchi is homemade and yummy. The owner was very friendly and helpful with any questions that we had about the menu.

Korean restaurants in Vegas and here and there. They're good, but not quite ktown LA level of good. With that being said, E-Jo does a nice job at comfort food. I opted for a hangover soup with brisket and sponge and phew, it could probably cure hangovers if I had any. It had good flavor and the side dishes were pretty decent. So would I eat here again if I still lived in Vegas? Every now and then yeah, it does a solid job of satiating that Korean food craving. Parking is located in a sorta sketchy lot behind the restaurant, but you should *mostly* be safe.

Vegas in January gets really cold. So today for lunch, I went and tried this Korean soup place at E-Jo Korean Restaurant. This part of town can be sketchy for some. If you can find parking in the back, do so. Otherwise, your car might get broken into. It looks closed from the outside, but once inside, lot's of Koreans are enjoying lunch. The waitress greeted me and showed me to my table. I pointed to #10 on the menu: Hangover Cabbage Soup w/ Beef Brisket. After ordering, she came back with a glass of water. 10 minutes later, a series of side bowls arrived: kimchi, rice, green onions, etc. Another 10 minutes later, the main entree arrived...except for the utensils. I had to ask for the spoon, chopsticks and napkins. I first tried the broth: very good and spicy. Then I had the brisket with cabbage and rice: very good, too. The kimchi and radish weren't chopped into smaller portions, so difficult to eat with chopsticks. Although tasty and comforting overall, I wish there were more slices of brisket in the soup.

Their homemade kimchi is delicious, the beef bone soup is a must-try, and the short ribs are tender, juicy, and very tasty! The place is quiet and cozy. I always want to visit whenever I travel here.

One of our favorite spots in Vegas for a hangover cure. Located on the North side of Vegas. The restaurant is clean and staff friendly and attentive. Haven't been here for ages so, we tried various soups::: Ox tail soup::: Awesome!! Dumpling and rice cake soup::: Fantastic! Tripe, tendon, and beef brisket soup::: that was perfect for me after partying on the strip for a few days. I tripe and tendon. Cabbage soup with beef::: that was delicious. Filled with dry cabbage in a thick broth along with some beef. Pan Chan::: Kimchi here is legit! Overall, their broth is thick and you can tell it's been simmering. If you're looking for Good quality Korean soup. This is the spot.

    My favorite: hangover soup!

I've been here twice now and each time I am reminded of how much I love this place! Definitely a must whenever I'm in Vegas. It's located a bit away from the strip but so worth the drive. There's plenty of parking. Inside the restaurant, you are always greeted by the sweetest workers. Food: Big fan of their sul lung tang and their hangover soup. I'm pretty picky when it comes to soups but both of these hit just right. I honestly think their hangover soups is probably one of the best hangover soups I've tried in a really long time. Would highly recommend!!

Can't pass this place when I am in Las Vegas. As expected, it was good. Always get the same menu over and over and can't go wrong with it. It was my first time visit today 12/15/2022 in four years. Thursday in the late morning, only one table was being served. As I stepped in, four more tables were filled. But the service was never slow and the wait was not at all long to get the food on the table. Price has gone up since four years ago, but everywhere else is too. I think it was more like $13.99 for the salkogi before but now it's $18.99. I am glad it's still under $20.

Wrapped up a weeklong stay in Vegas with some homemade Korean food. Ordered galbi (short ribs) and ggori gom tang (ox tail soup). I liked how they brought out two kinds of kimchi in separate containers so that you place on a kimchi plate along with scissors to cut them in smaller pieces. The galbi had a nice marinade and for the price, there was a mountain of beef. The ggori gom tang was everything I needed to end my trip in Vegas filled with chaos, debauchery, and sin. The bone broth was hearty and soothed my soul the minute I had a sip. Throw in a few mini spoons of salt and add the radish kimchi juice in to add some razzle dazzle to the dish. There was an ample amount of oxtails in the soup. All in all, we were full and satisfied. Parking lot is available in the back.

Came here on lunch for Saturday and the place was empty other than our party. So service was quick. The soups are presented bland so you can add the flavoring yourself (bean paste, salt). A little disappointed there is no banchan other than kimchi and radishes, but overall still a good experience and would give it another chance.

Even the vegetables had that strong sour punch, which I really liked with the steaming hot soup. I'm not big on a table full of side dishes, so I actually appreciated that they kept it simple. Not too many extras, just the essentials. The soup itself wasn't overly salty, which I liked. You can season it to your preference since they provide extra salt on the side. The gomtang stood out -- the beef was very tender, soft, and clearly simmered well. And honestly, the slightly indifferent service made it feel authentic. Not overly polite or trying too hard -- just straightforward and focused on the food. If you enjoy sour notes and comforting Korean soups, this place does it well.

The taste and value is really great, actually. If you are looking for your "halmoni's" (grandma in Korean) authentic, homemade, caring, handmade flavors and can ignore the no-frills, don't -care, terrible location and zero curbside appeal, this is your place. Imagine going to an old neighborhood Korean home where the kimchee to the broths and banchan are made with love. The scissors are sharp so you can easily cut the perfectly fermented, primly pickled kimchee and the cucumbers (oi kimchee) are fresh and the beef broth deeply steeped and rich with flavor. Plus it's an absolute bargain for what you get. I think we ordered almost one of everything (for just the three of us) just to taste it. The naengmyun (cold noodles) were fine. Not exceptional, but decent. The saam and chive pancake was very good. Value is high, taste is high; authenticity very high. Huge portions in today's world of cutting back. But I feel fortunate to find a "go-to" for my korean cravings. Like walking into my auntie's house for some warm, deeply comforting, home-cooked k-meal. Craving the dogani bone broth soup now!! Step inside, though, and suddenly you are transported somewhere that feels straight out of the Euljiro district in downtown Seoul. The welcome sets the tone. The mostly non-Korean staff greet you by shouting something in Korean. I had to ask my Chinese server what it meant. He laughed and said, "Hobak imnida" which translates to "We are Hobak." Kind of silly, but honestly part of the charm. What we did not realize is that Hobak is celebrating its tenth year in business. In Las Vegas, that is no small feat. Restaurants here disappear faster than a weekend bankroll, so a decade says a lot. Also worth noting, Hobak is not AYCE. They offer set menus and à la carte options. We went with the set menu for two, and it was more than enough food. That said, if you are strictly a meat-only person, this might not be your ideal spot. The seafood pancake and kimchi stew deserve just as much attention as the meat! The real surprise though: while it is not AYCE, they quietly rolled out AYCD all you can drink for $14 back in November. Yes, you read that right. So plan accordingly. Bring a DD or call a Lyft because things can escalate quickly. We ended up with two bottles of soju and two large Cass beers, which would have easily been double the AYCD price. Sodas are also included. One of the better deals you will find in this city. Service was excellent across the board. Tyler, who is half Japanese and half White, handled the brisket and short ribs like a pro. Our tattooed Chinese server, who looked intimidating at first glance, turned out to be incredibly friendly and grilled the pork jowl perfectly. Everyone else kept the banchan coming with a smile. By the time we finished, we had to walk laps around the shopping center just to recover. We left full, slightly buzzed, and, fittingly, feeling like a couple of very giant hobaks.
