So Ive been finding myself with a new hobby on weekends and as a result constantly being near chinatown. As a part of the normal schedule, I've started to search for " go tos" and in stepped Moobongri Soondae.  This has always been on the short list for trying out so I was glad to finally make it here about a month ago. This place is in a "plaza area" and its surrounded by a bunch of different types of shops so parking is plentiful. The joint itself is clean and functional on the inside. Plenty of tables, quick /friendly service, and a bunch of options for eats. The menu is broken down by Soups, rice dishes, hotpot, jovial, soondae, bbq items and then some "app type bites". The menu is expansive but I can confidently say, I have not been disappointed yet. Over the last few trips, I have had the naengmyrun, the soondae soup, the spicy pork belly soup, and the bossam.  The banchans are good and they offer a small but delicious assortment. The Bossam was delicious, with no smell on it and good portions. The soups are all fantastic (absolutely delicious), and the naengmyun is absolutely delicious. Pair this with a nice cold bottle of soju and this meal has been hitting home every time ive been there recently. The Service is absolutely fantastic. They are super friendly and honestly so efficient. This joint is my current favorite... Just good food, good service, good eats, and reasonable prices.  Approved! read more

I have lived in Korea for five years as an English teacher and four of those years were in Jeonju, home of the famous bibimbap. Food was ok, but for 30 I would have expected more. Everything was priced a little higher that expected without anything extra going for it. What a pleasant and unexpected surprise! Probably the best chapsal soondae I have eaten outside of Korea! It had that rich desirable taste which you can't get everywhere. It's located on the periphery of H-Mart. My spouse and I couldn't not resist! We bought a container of soondae with a gochu (chili) for dipping (to go). My son absolutely loves soondaeguk, so this has become one of our regular family spots whenever that craving hits. This visit, we decided to switch things up and order the jokbal for lunch instead. The flavor was excellent... served cold, tender, well-seasoned, and really satisfying. Unfortunately, the portion size felt a bit underwhelming considering it was close to $50. The table has a drawer underneath with supplies like table napkins and chopsticks in case you need them. I was stoked to see Moobongri in Vegas as I used to frequent their location in SoCal. I was grocery shopping and decided to stop by here to order some chal soondae for take out. I ordered at the counter and waited nearby. I was thrilled and couldn't wait to eat it when I got back to the house. Unfortunately, the soondae did not meet my elevated expectations from what I remember of their other location. It was super soggy...like inedible soggy. I am unsure what happened here. Did they steam it too long? Was it frozen for 10 years? No idea. It was disappointing. I'd like to give them another try again in the future and maybe sit down for some soondaeguk.
