Their online pressence is very impressive and very deceptive. I responded to an ebay advertisement selling a boom/bucket truck. I emailed KID CARS and spoke w/them on the phone many times about the specific condition of this truck. The standard reply is "everything works as it should, it has been thru our shop and anything that needed repair has been fixed" I was assured this truck was ready and able to drive to California and put to work. On the promises of their "honest abe like salesman" I traveled 2000 miles with the intention of buying this truck. Upon arrival I immediately knew I had been low-balled and lied to. The truck was a rust bucket and a piece of worn out junk! The wheel wells were rusted out, the boom didn't work, the cab door latches didn't work, The air pressure tank was rusted thru and dangerous, the left rear tire was bald and the cap was separating from the tire, and on top of all that, the rear main seal on the engine leaked and puddled on the ground under the truck! The salesmans excuse for the lies he had told to get me there, was generally, "he didn't know much about trucks, until a year or so ago he was selling used cars". The shop foreman was there to demonstrate the operations of the truck. This may have been the only honest person I talked to while I was there. I asked why all of these problems had not been fixed. he said "up until an hour earlier he had never seen this truck". Okay, so now the lies are clear and blatant and I'm really pissed!! I'm out of pocket a $2000.00 deposit they refuse to return, I've flown myself and my mechanic to Illinois, I've a rental car and motel to pay for and now the return flight to Oakland, Ca.. KID CARS has a showy online advertisement that promises all of their vehicles are serviced, repaired and not just superficially, they try very hard to convience potential customers they are a reputable, honest, responsible business. I believed it, I thought they were reputable! In truth they are just another low class, used, car dealership, willing to say whatever it takes to get potential victims there and sell anything they can get out the door. I'm going to post this review on different sites around the net for others to read and use to avoid the really bad experience I had with KID CARS, IN ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS. If any mechanic looked at this vehicle then they knew all of the issues and didn't disclose them. Very Sleazy. There is hope for anyone who buys form these crooks or any other. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office who will mediate. Now I am filing a complaint with the Secretary of State Police, so that they cannot renew their license.
