Have been illegally towed and drivers that are employed there drive erratic through the lots.

My car had not been used for over 3 mos and my remote would not not work. I knew I needed to get my SUV to my dealership but who? My dealership recommended E & R Towing. I called and they came quick. My tow driver Patrick was not only knowledgeable, but also personable. He eased my nervousness, and made me comfortable most likely without even knowing it. This company does not log all vehicles they have towed!!! Vehicles are lost in their "system". If you even attempt to make a phone call someone will answer and do the bare minimum of their job. You'll be told they will contact the driver in the area they patrol and you'll never hear anything back. Hey Shelby!!! Left one star because I couldn't leave zero. Don't bother with this untrustworthy place. Called for a tow, was told 60 - 90 minutes. Three hours later, they still weren't there and the dealership was closed. I had to leave my vehicle unattended in a parking lot. Called this company to have my truck towed to the dealership. I used roadside assistance thru my cell phone carrier. They charged me an additional $114.50 and never showed up! They were supposed to be her at 10:17an, I reached out to roadside assistance and the told them they were called to an accident and it would be an additional 60 mintues....well they LIED! I called roadside assistance again. E&R towing told the representative they never received a confirmation from them! At this point, I CALL BS!! they are LIARS!! However, they used to do towing for my condo subdivision and never missed an opportunity to tow a car illegally or not! read more

My car was hit about midnight Friday night and needed to be towed. My insurance company sent E & R Towing. They arrived sooner than expected and were very professional, helpful and efficient. Horrible experience with this company. They illegally towed my work van from private property and totally disregarded the municipal code that says if the driver presents with the key, the car is NOT to be towed from private property. It then took, literally, hours to get my van back after nearly a dozen calls to the profoundly unprofessional staff - including managers. I finally followed up with the State and was given a full refund, but the time and aggravation I suffered can never be recovered. Heavy fines would certainly discourage this type of rogue behavior. read more

E & R tow truck drivers have a history - as far as I am concerned on blatantly stealing peoples vehicles from personal property then failing take accountability for their actions. One issue I'm dealing with is legal. I've sought counsel first to sue my HOA for their failure to properly interpret HOA bylaws as it refers to parking. This particular issue with E&R is different altogether from that fiasco. Once E&R lost its contract to monitor my HOA location, one of their drivers illegally came onto the property's parking lot and towed my personal vehicle from the parking space that is legally listed to me in HOA documents. A parking space that according to bylaws only the owner (ME) can have any vehicle towed from my parking space if one is parked in said space illegally. This idiot tow driver, with no jurisdiction to be on private property, tows my personal vehicle from my parking space. Surveillance video catches everything! Ten minutes after the illegal tow, the idiot driver brings my vehicle back and drops it in my space opposite facing of how I parked! When I came out to run errands, I thought for a minute-- then realized I didn't park my vehicle like this! I was beside myself wondering if someone had been watching me move in, did someone try to steal it and not get far, have a conscience WHAT?!!! I immediately requested the surveillance as an owner, I have that right. It was like pulling teeth to get it from the pitiful HOA Board President & his miserable wife, but it was eventually obtained. Again, I was beside myself with worry not knowing how my vehicle was turned around! Nothing was missing on the inside but portions of the headliner around the windows were filthy with black handprints. I knew someone had accessed my vehicle. Finally the HOA acquiesced. That's when I saw E&R tow driver steal my truck for about 15mins and bring it back! I reported the illegal tow to Dave a Manager at E&R Towing and he could careless. Mgr. Dave hasn't taken any action or any accountability whatsoever. He expects me to do the footwork for his irresponsible hired help. I don't get mad. I get legal. Don't let these companies that make there living oftentimes in bogus fee's off the hook! Know who to talk to and file formal complaints. Keep detailed records of the incident. Do reviews and get the word out! I'm sure E&R Towing & the inept Mgr Dave think they've heard the last of me.... but when they least expect it.. they should EXPECT IT! read more

Make matters worse my cars battery was dead and i was saving up for a new car battery so i had a dead car sitting in their lot and guess what?? They wouldn't even give me a jump start. E&R towing is by far the worst towing company if your insurance or anything dispatches them to come get your vehicle it's going to be the worst experience in your life no updates on arrival or eta. I don't understand why insurance uses them to tow vehicles literally was waiting hours for a tow for me to call them for an update and they say we can't come out and tow your vehicle. If you couldn't tow my vehicle why take the call from the insurance or why wouldn't you give me call explaining that. I would like to first start off by stating that from my first initial encounter with this company was not only negligent but unprofessional. I parked my vehicle to simply get supplies for my business, only to find my vehicle damaged with no note nor contact information. This is what you call a hit and run. As upset as I was, I still gave whomever damaged my vehicle the courtesy and opportunity to make things right, that was not given to me at all. I took time from my work day to search nearby businesses to see if they caught anything on video surveillance. The driver nor company did not assist in this matter, as again their driver did not stay for the incident. When I found the video of the tow truck hitting the driver side of my vehicle, I made the first attempt to reach out to the company only to be treated disrespectfully by their dispatch representative. This is far from being professional when all I was trying to do is give this company the opportunity to reach a fair reimbursement for the damages their driver caused. Now after going back and forth with their "Safety Manager", I was pawned off to their "claims department" with no direct number, only e-mail correspondence. And the multiple times I have called to get in touch with someone, regarding my numerous e-mails that were left with no response, representatives told me to just e-mail claims again as they did not have a direct phone number. I was told I had to get 3 quotes after I already sought out to acquire 2 estimates on my own. Which I complied to their request only to be told that in order for me to get my vehicle fixed that I would have to bring it to their shop. This is MY vehicle and where I choose to take it to be properly repaired is MY choice. I was not given a list of approved shops, I was told. A month and some weeks past of trying to get my vehicle fixed and/or reimbursed for damages I was told that their company has handled this particular situation professionally, with offering me not even half of what my damages will cost. I have been left to continuously reach out to see the status of my repairs/reimbursements because their representatives have trouble responding to my emails. After all that this company had the audacity to falsely accuse me of making fraudulent insurance claim. And to this day my vehicle has yet to be fixed nor have I received reimbursement for the damages. I would say that this company has a history of causing damages (I read multiple reviews) and leaving innocent people to pay for their faults. read more

So I dealt with this company for about a month in 2 days they told me to go get 3 estimates which I did but the 2 did I got was one from BMW and another 1 was from another local body shop. Here's my story I went to get something from a pet supply on Wabash and 22nd street. Come outside my side mirror is off. It appear that someone hit my car into cough I'm searching for a solution meaning trying to find a camera or if anyone seemed this person hit my car I couldn't find anyone and nor will help me I felt desperate. So I for one person willing to give me stilts of a tow truck hitting my car and taking off. I called them weeks after week to solve this problem I want to police station and I had to sergeant call E&R Towing Sergeant talk to someone at this location and names being the smart ass The total may have 45 minutes to get down at the Police department or hes going to put out a hidden run warned or whoever was driving a car. Representative dam from the location of E&R He will pay for all the damages. I was really happy about that but that turned out to be a lie. Told me to take $2000 and that's it. My damages are worth 57 or $4700. Watch out for this asshole company. This is the most fraudulent business ever. I live at the complex they towed the car from. Called and told them the parking pass may have fallen because it was bent and old. Guy said he went and looked in vehicle and there was no pass. After I paid him walked straight up to the car and it was there. Literally showed the guy and explained I was using my child's bday money to get car out and he just loomed at me stupid. Pathetic. read more

They were there as promised, delivered my car safely (which was quite a drive) and for the exact price quoted, which was far below any other quotes that I received. I spoke with the "manager" Kevin to explain the situation and he wouldn't help either. I asked to speak to someone who could help and he told me "my dad is the owner" so you have to deal with me. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Called at 8:30 and the dispatcher said 45 minutes to an hour. I could understand being a little late so called back at 10:00. New dispatcher told me to be patient that he will send someone out now 30-45 minutes because the previous dispatcher did not send out a truck. Call back at 11:30 dispatcher says driver just left should be there in 20 minutes. 1:00 order another company, my fault for waiting that long to begin with. Then they finally show up at 3:45 (the other company already came and got the car) and they gave me a $250 bill for the tow still even though the car was already gone and they were over 6 hours late. read more

He came before the estimated time of arrival, saw the condition of my vehicle (that their customer service somehow got wrong over the phone) and made extra efforts and adjustments to ensure my car was not damaged when lifting it on the tow bed as a result. I hitched a ride with him to the BMW dealership and he was very pleasant the entire ride. He even was considerate when taking the car off the tow bed and ensuring not to block the entrance to the dealership's service area despite their cumbersome parking layout. They try to run scams. I called police. -After I paid to redeem my vehicle, they had me waiting for over half an hour to go "across the street" to get my car. They initially told me I had to go with a stranger, in the dark, to an unknown location and I refused. I kept getting the run around after asking where my car was. I was told to stop being hostile. I didnt raise my voice once. Keep in mind, I had paid quite a bit of money about 45 mins earlier. I told them if they didn't produce my car, I was calling the police, and I did. Three police cars showed up and when the cops asked where my car was, the guy tried to make it seem as if I was being difficult and impatient. I told the cops I had a time stamped receipt of when I paid about an hour ago and I wanted all my money back or for them to produce my vehicle! About 6 mins later, my car showed up. I have filed complaints with BBB, IL Atty Gen and IL Commerce Commission. read more

Worst Company EVER!!! This company towed my car a month ago from a private residential gated community that had absolutely no signs up indicating any restrictions on parking at all. I thought my car had been stolen. There was no post anywhere about who towed my car, where to find it, no number to reach the towing company at, nothing. The only way I was able to track down where my car was taken was through a neighbor who had said that her car had been collected previously by E & R Towing. I filed a complaint that was investigated a month later, and there are supposedly signs up on the entrance to the community now, but I have three witnesses that can testify that there were no signs when my car got towed. To top it all off, both the neighbor who had previous dealings, and my friend who called E & R towing to see if my car was there, complained that they received the rudest, most condescending treatment from E & R towing. This company is SHADY SHADY SHADY! Towing cars with no signage is illegal, and treating the subjects like dirt is worse. read more
