Unfortunately do To the heavy rainfall at Tinley Park Plaza and construction work on the parking lot With confusing fencing blocking the whole parking lot off after they cut the front lot and had a 4 foot drop out of nowhere. My Chevy equinox was stuck two wheels on the asphalt and two wheels in the mud. AAA sent Legend Towing to me via the "roadside assistance" line. The tow company called me within a couple of minutes of my hanging up with AAA, they had a flatbed to me within about 15 minutes, and the tow guy pulled the car onboard quickly and carefully. The tow guy was efficient, courteous, and professional. It was obvious he was skilled at it. I called the mechanic's shop he delivered the car to (a small independent place), and the mechanic there confirmed that the tow guy got my car there in one piece and did a perfectly fine job dropping it off and getting it positioned in the mechanic's postage-stamp-sized parking lot. Saif identified the issue of a broke gear shifter/trans cable and was able to manually get the car into drive from under the car so it could be driven into the shop. I'm not usually a Yelp guy, I feel like it's full of exaggerated reviews, but I'm currently in the middle of a nightmare scenario with Legend Towing, and between the bad experience and the actual danger, I'm making an exception. TL;DR - they damaged my car with a routine tire change and cussed me out on the phone when I offered to handle reimbursement without AAA's direct intervention. I had a flat tire. Could've changed it myself, but figured "I have AAA, might as well have a professional do it and make sure I don't wind up liable for any damages." AAA sent Legend Towing, and the guy they sent seemed nice enough, but had a very hard time navigating his way around the car and the process. He couldn't figure out where to put the jack, and wound up dropping my car twice. But that's not what wound up causing the damage. He also didn't thread the lug nuts by hand before using the driver to tighten them. In any regular scenario, this could at least strip the bolts, but in my case, I have a Subaru, which uses hubs (and pretty much any part) with a lot of compact design. Between that, and a lot of torque on a stripped bolt, and the guy unwittingly broke the whole hub before sending me on my way. Just glad it didn't lead to a breakdown before I got to a mechanic. The mechanic was holding back a giggle when he asked me if I changed it myself, and his expression changed when he found out it was a professional. He made it clear that the botched replacement was the cause of the issue. The repair cost just north of $400. I made a call to AAA on Monday to get reimbursed for the damages (couldn't wait up on repairs since my car was, legally speaking, unsafe to drive). They said they'd contact Legend and let them know to settle up with me within 3 days before AAA got directly involved. They called that evening, but I work nights. I called back the next day, and the guy who changed my tire answers. The "nice enough" compliment goes out the door. I explain that I just want to break even on this repair. I can't afford some else's $400 mistake. He denies that he had anything to do with the damage, having not heard that I have pictures, the old part in a box, and the support of the mechanic who did the repair (was about to explain that before he interrupted me). The conversation ends with him saying "I don't owe you shit" and an abrupt hang up. I spoke with AAA, and they say they have yet to get Legend to answer their call. I wouldn't put too much stake in that, since AAA tends to drag their feet, but I also wouldn't doubt it, given my firsthand experience with this company thus far. So yeah, still out $400. We needed our vehicle towed from our home, used AAA, and was unfortunate enough to receive this towing company. The driver's name was Ray and was extremely rude. It was a simple assignment: tow my vehicle from my home to a tire shop, but this guy made it far more complicated. Ray demanded we have the key to the vehicle, because according to him the tire shop requires it. I was at work with the keys and my son was handling the matter for me. After becoming frustrated with Ray, which devolved into an argument, my son called me at work. I explained to Ray that in my 47 years of life I've never heard of any such requirements. After calling a tow company I deal with the for work, I was referred to Legend to have someone fix a flat for my disabled mother-in-law's caretaker in the driveway in the driveway at her house in Tinley. Legend was able to get someone out quickly at a reasonable rate, that's where the positive ends. The driver didn't have enough muscle to him and asked the caretaker to give him a hand loosening the lug nuts on her flat. He also insisted on being paid in cash. If the business is cash only that is fine, but it should have been told to me when I asked about paying ahead of time over the phone. All I was told was that no phone payments could be made, that it would have to be done on site. When I reached out and texted Ray back, after having provided him the address for the job that way earlier, I was told that no one helps the driver and that the drivers have air guns for that. When asked about the cash payment I was told to have a nice day. I'm not thrilled, I won't be using them again and I'll be sure to tell the towing company who suggested them about the experience. read more

I had to call AAA due to a flat tire. I was initially given a one hour window but I think they got to me in 20-25 minutes. I appreciated that, time is very valuable, and I wanted to get to the tire store to fix the tire before it closed. The young man who came out was kind, worked quick and accurate. He told me to wait inside, since it was freezing outside. He said he would be done in 5 minutes and he was. My spare tire was low on air, so he filled that and went on his way. I forgot to get his name and I wish I did because the owners should know. He was a shining example of what customer service should be. Im not sure why some previous reviews were so negative. I called AAA for a dead battery and need for a jump start on 12/13/16. They sent a guy from Legend Towing. He tried to jump my battery, but realized his starter was dead (really, smh). He charged the battery starter on his truck for 10 mins, and still could not jump start my battery. He tried charging his starter a second time, and for the 3rd time could not jump my battery. He shrugged his shoulders and said "I can tow you some place". He left as I was calling AAA to complain. Luckily my dad made it home (he lives near the neighborhood where I was stranded), and I was able to tell him my dilemma. He arrived within 5 mins, used his jumper cables, and had my battery charged and car started within 15 mins flat. Thank God for Dads! As we were putting the cables into my dad's trunk, another member of Legend Towing came to the scene to see if I needed any assistance (realized the previous driver left me stranded).
