I wasted my time trying to have it done at Pep Boys, they were going to take hours to do it and then told me they won't install used tires. So instead I called up Dan and he said to bring the wheel and replacement tire in. I dropped them off in the morning and went back about noon to have it put back on the car. That took like 20 minutes and 30 bucks and I was on my way, pain free. Now I just need to quit bumping the planter next to my driveway.

I was told it would cost $3,500- $3,800 to fix my car after paying $80 to diagnose my car. And this shop reported this to CARFAX. I was told the part was only available from the car manufacturer for $1,799 and there was no after market version of the part. Keep in mind, there were absolutely NO symptoms of the problem they told me it could be. Plus I looked up the part they mentioned and found it after market, refurbished , or oem for $200- $1,000 (AT MOST!) . NOT $1,799. Still, this caused me a lot of distress. I went to another mechanic shop and found out that this was NOT the issue at all. And the only thing the car needed = $400. Nagels lied to me about what was wrong, lied to me about the cost of parts, mis diagnosed my car and still charged, tried to take me to the cleaners, AND this is on CARFAX now! They depreciated the value of my vehicle. After my experience, I wouldn't trust this shop even to change the oil on my car. Nagels is the stereotypical mechanic shop that everyone warns you about. DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP!

I did not feel like he was trying to "hustle" me, like some other shops routinely do by attempting to sell additional services that may not be necessary. Tom has a very dry sense of humor and being the owner, he can behave as he sees fit, with no corporate folks telling him how to speak to customers, something the negative reviewers didn't seem to understand. I feel he is honest and accurate and have recommended this shop to a relative to address a tricky problem with their car, something I would normally shy away from doing. Don't expect a "walk-in". For those of us who are keeping our cars past the warranty period or driving used cars, there is a great need for good mechanics to do service and repair on these older cars. We need an alternative to the big dealerships. Orland Best Service (OBS) was really a find. My 8 year old Chevy pickup had an air-conditioning (AC) problem. When I first turned it on this season it blew warm air. Thought I might need a Freon top-off. When getting an oil change at the dealer, I asked about this and was told the standard price is $180 to LOOK at the AC. Keeping in mind that anything they found - even a Freon top-off would be an add on to the $180 - I said I would go elsewhere. Finally found OBS where the standard price for servicing the AC is less than $100. My first visit was just me showing up with no appointment one day. Tom - who is the lead dog here - took a look and checked a part to make sure the flap on the blower that changes over from heat to AC was working, and finally said he'd need a bit longer to diagnose the problem so we set up a date to come back two days later. I asked him what I owed for the hour he'd already spent - nothing. He said he hadn't done anything, so I didn't owe anything. Nice honest answer. Brought the pickup back two days later and left it. He was pretty busy so he didn't get to it until later but when he finally did he found that the little in-line filter on the compressor lines was clogged. He cleaned out the filter, made sure the Freon charge was up to snuff, and finished the job in about an hour. The price - $60. So, in sum ... if you are looking for a good solid mechanic who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty and is willing to try on anything ... this just might be your guy. Keep in mind this is only a two-man shop, but if you don't have to have your vehicle fixed in the next 30 minutes and you are willing to maybe wait to get it done right, you'll find Tom can usually get it done and at a very fair price. Very pleased and will bring my vehicles back for servicing.

They advised me that to get into the trans and change that, they should replace the whole transmission for a couple hundred more, otherwise they couldn't guarantee the work. And they charged $150 for this "diagnosis". They wanted thousands of dollars for a new transmission, and I was stuck because I couldn't take the emissions test to renew my plates with a check engine light on. Brought it to Tony's Transmissions, and he replaced the sensor in a few days for a few hundred dollars. I can't remember the exact amount because I paid cash and it was about a year ago, but I just saw his business pop up when I was doing a search and remembered that I should have left him a review back then. He really did great work. Check engine light was off, car passed emissions, and we drove it for another year before selling it a friend for his teenage son. Car is still running strong.
