I don't enjoy leaving less-than-positive reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience for the benefit of future clients. I typically see Hannah for my lash appointments and have always been satisfied with her work. However, during my recent visit, she was out of the country and I was scheduled with a different technician, Carol. Overall, the appointment went smoothly--Carol was attentive to my preferences and I was happy with how my lashes turned out. That said, I did experience an issue that I believe is worth mentioning. The adhesive used during the application process sometimes seeps into the eyes, which can cause a brief stinging sensation--this has happened to me more than once. After this last visit, I noticed continued discomfort in my left eye. By the following day, the irritation persisted and my lower eyelid had become swollen. Upon further inspection, I noticed a white bump inside the eyelid, which may indicate an infection. I now need to see an eye doctor to address this before it potentially worsens. While I appreciate the affordability of this salon and the quality of service in many respects, this experience has made me reconsider whether a slightly higher-cost provider with stricter safety protocols might be a better option for me moving forward. read more

They always have appointments available and are always so sweet and welcoming. They always have soft music playing to relax to and they offer blankets if you're cold which is nice! I got recommended here by a coworker. The place is far from where I live, but it's worth the drive! The space is very calming and quiet. I've gone once with Eva and once with someone else ( I forgot her name). Both times were great experiences and I look forward to going again. Their services were fast and efficient, which I love! Faye (who has never done my lashes before) did my eyelashes yesterday and my intuition knew something was very wrong. As soon as I left, my eyes were watering to the point of needing to use napkins in my car and I screamed from pain. I was unable to sleep last night due to the pain. The bottoms of my eyes are completely red, tender, and swollen Not sure if it's the glue that leaked into them because she didn't know what she was doing, I have no clue what I went wrong but this is EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL and should NEVER happen. I have been getting my lashes done for over seven years and I have never experienced something like this and I am terrified because it's my eyes/vision. I'm going to have to go to the doctor today because my eyes are completely bloodshot and hurt so bad. I look like I haven't slept for a week; my eyes are just clearly injured. I found this place on Groupon and you get what you pay for. I'm done with Groupon. You get what you pay for. Also, this place has no concept of "natural looking" lashes - and another client was complaining about how fake her eyelashes looked as mine were getting done. Same thing happened to me: I asked them her to do the NATURAL look and these look ridiculously fake. They do not know how to do the natural look here. My eyes are killing me and I am preparing to go to the doctor now - I hope there is no permanent damage. The pain is unbearable. There are so many eyelash studios in Hollywood - don't risk your vision at this crappy place. Please do not play around with your precious vision and pay the money to go to a more expensive place. I've been getting my eyelash extensions done by Katie for over 3 years now (since when she worked at the other location). She's been at this new location for about a month now. I have not been disappointed. She's sweet and very accommodating when I need an appointment. I tried going somewhere else a year ago because I moved to Fullerton, CA but I did not like them so I decided to make the drive to Pasadena every time. PRICE: Compared to other places, the price here is great! They accept cards but if you pay with cash you get a stamp on a card they give you. After the 10th stamp you get $30 off the next visit. ATMOSPHERE: The place is brand new. All furniture is new. It's peaceful and relaxing. The music is peaceful even if I don't understand the language LOCATION: Right on the corner. I tend to get my lashes done by one tech, but more recently have had to try new techs due to scheduling conflicts on my end. They keep your lash profile in their system making it possible for any tech to help you if your favorite isn't In for the day. My current tech is Kimeko, so feel inclined to try her out! I had my lashes done here. They try to up sell you. Their so called "mink" lashes feels and looks fake. I have been to many lash studios before and the mink lashes are normally very soft. My experience here was great! I was early to my appointment but they immediately sat me down anyways and gave me some time to choose a color. They were nice and checked in on me every once in a while and I swear I was going to fall asleep while she was doing my nails because I was so comfortable. My nails are cute and only one nail was painted unevenly but hard to catch anyways. I didn't notice until I closely looked at it. 5 stars for the lashes, 3 stars for the nails. This was my second time visiting the salon. I loved the first experience so I brought my aunt with me the second time. You would lay down to get your lashes done while the nail specialist get your nails started - super efficient. I got my lashes done about a month ago and I came in 2 weeks ago to get them refilled. Both times were excellent service!! However, when it comes to the nails - maybe because we were in a hurry so we can't fully blame our nail specialists - but boy she really didn't pay attention to details. There were still particles from removing the previous gel, and the edges weren't done well; also the colors were thin but that shouldn't be an excuse for an uneven coating. I did not like my nails. My aunt got gel extension and she liked the color. However, she said her fingers were not handled with care and cause her finger tips to swell and you can see from the picture that they are scratched. "Katie," the owner of this salon, did my eyelashes and did not care about her poor work or the discomfort her careless application caused my eyes. They were glued to my skin! I asked her if I could come by and have them removed two days later and when I asked for a refund, she simply dismissed me and said she would not return my money just because I didn't like the eyelashes. She said the owner would not allow it...except she is the owner. What kind of service is this? And who lies about their name? Do not come here. Went in wanting a basic mani and pedi, was shown 3 options for a pedicure, told and told them I wanted the cheapest one. I go to check out and they charged me for 3 things I did not ask for and told me that was the option I chose. It was not. The nail tech also cut my cuticle to make me bleed. Wow. First let me say that every employee there was attentive and sweet from the moment I walked in. I was planning on getting a full set of acrylics but I was told the Gel X extensions were better for your natural nail and were thinner than acrylics so I gave it a shot. My nail techs (Mandy and Daisy) were constantly making sure I was happy with the shape and length of my nails, which I loved because I can be a little Type-A. Now, I naturally have a wider nail bed so when I get acrylics, I tend to take them off after a week or so because the acrylic is super thick and heavy and they make my fingers look extra wide. I can honestly say that this is the happiest I've EVER been with a full set. My nail beds actually look cute and dainty on these silverback gorilla sized hands. I will never go back to acrylics and I fully plan on returning to E&K Beauty for my future nail needs. read more
