I had my wedding reception at this venue a year ago today (November 2024). For about 90 minutes the…read morepower went out in the entire building. My wedding reception was held on the 7th floor. When the power went out, there were guests who were stuck in the elevator... For 90 minutes! The Dallas Fire Department had to come and extricate people from all 4 elevators. Some people were forced to climb up 7 flights of stairs to get to our floor. Other guests ended up leaving the wedding altogether because we just never knew WHEN the lights and power were going to come back on. There was no back up generator or power source that the building could draw from. We were not able to start the wedding reception until AFTER 10pm! There was a quinceañera on another floor, and a 70th birthday party being held on a different floor. Everyone had NO POWER! (To be fair, when my mother came to check out this venue the week before the wedding, she said she had to take the stairs down, b/c the power went out then too - in the middle of the day!!!!) So for over 1 hour, our vendors were not able to serve our 400 wedding guests! I lost an hour of service from every single vendor - which ended up totaling over $12,000 lost. When I contacted the owners of the venue, they refused to take any accountability, saying they were not at fault. They refused to refund us even a fraction of the amount that we were owed. They refused that they owed us anything at all! We spent months trying to work out an agreement / negotiate compensation with the owner, to no avail. Nothing. Not even a dime. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU CHOOSE ANY OTHER VENUE FOR YOUR EVENT! IT'S NOT WORTH WASTING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY... SPEND A LITTLE EXTRA AND BOOK YOURSELF A DECENT VENUE. I would give this place 0/5 stars if I could. I highly do NOT recommend.

We reserved this venue for a Nigerian Wedding Celebration; Liz and Jake (Owner), are sooo accommodating. Every single request that we had was honored. The halls are great sizes!! The location is great. 10/10. Again, Liz is my girl!! Any larger events that we have, will be solely held at Las Lomas. I'd recommend!

I had to make quick phone calls to different ballrooms and I was blessed Las Lomas had a spot open for us last minute. My parents and I were crying at first thinking we were going to have to cancel the party but thanks to Jake and Kim it all worked out. Internet search and reviews. After interviewing her on the phone, I hired her. I did not taste her food before the party and I placed my trust in her enthusiasm/compassion for her profession. She developed a menu and together we made minor adjustments. She and her staff of 2 arrived on the day of the party and got to work. The meal was ready as promised and it did not disappoint. She elegantly arranged the food for a serve yourself affair. We had a southern backyard social gathering complete with hot honey chicken biscuit sliders, savory chicken salad croissants, chilled shrimp, shrimp boil cups, spinach artichoke dip and fresh fruit. She prepared the food in my kitchen and refreshed the service area. I never worried about a single thing- she had it covered. Decorations and balloons still up from night before. No paper towels in kitchen or bathrooms, no trash bags in bathroom. Our tables were not set up and table cloths not out or chairs out. We had to wait for him to set up tables so we could start decorating. Some of the tablecloths had stains on them, probably from night before. The chargers they used were dirty, we had to wash food off several of them. To top it off, he was rude. Not apologizing or trying to make things right. He was supposed to come back and mop before guests showed up cause the floors were disgusting and decided to show up Late when our guests were there and tried to mop....we told him to forget it... He isn't moping around guest. Not one time Did he apologize or make things right. He would be mad or fling his hands. He even showed the venue to 2 or 3 People while we were trying to decorate. The other, was pretty competitive with their pricing but she seemed annoyed on the phone. I don't know about you but when planning an event of any kind, you have enough chaos, adding an unpleasant person to the mix is not ideal. Brandi was perfect! The setup & pickup went smoothly. Keith was very unresponsive, the tables were dirty, balls were terrible quality and very old. The tables was not level and they had to come back to level. My event ended Sunday and they didn't pick up until Tuesday and that was only after the hotel called me and I called Keith. I will be using another company from now on.

Disappointing Experience with Barons Catering…read more I am writing this review to share my experience with Barons Catering regarding our wedding on December 27, 2024, which was a significant letdown. We had booked Barons Catering for my son's wedding and paid for the services in full a month in advance, feeling confident in our choice. However, to our shock and dismay, we discovered the night before our wedding that they would not be showing up. An email sent to my daughter-in-law that went to spam was discovered after many attempts that week to reach out and ensure things were still good. (It's notable to say that ALL communication till that point was with me, the mother, and I did NOT receive an email). So clearly, he was hoping this would be missed. Despite our numerous attempts to reach out via phone, we received no response. This lack of communication and professionalism left us scrambling for last-minute alternatives on what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of their lives. Lucky for us, Rosa's, a local fast food place, jumped in with hours to spare on a 100-person wedding!!!!!!!! The failure to honor our agreement and the complete disregard for our situation is unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone considering Barons Catering for their event to think twice. We were left disappointed and stressed, and I hope that no one else has to go through such an experience. On top of everything, the email promised a refund to which all calls, emails, and messages have gone unanswered. We will be taking to social media now to ensure others do not go through this.
