My 2008 Dyson DC24 finally had an issue that required an expense that I would have to cover. Did the math and went with a new Dyson Ball Animal 2. I went back to the same location where I had a prior great experience and it was the same excellent experience. Rich is still there but dealt with Max this time. Super helpful in explaining options without pushing a model. They took my old model for recycling, assembled my new model and helped put it in the car. Told me my dyson couldn't be fixed but since it was in warranty they would order me a new one and ship it to my house. 2 weeks later still heard nothing back so I called and they wouldn't answer. I had a problem cleaning my vacuum cleaner, so I called the service center in Plainview. A friendly fellow who said his name was "Rich" knew immediately what I was doing wrong. After he helped me with that, he took the time and patience to ask about the filter. I didn't even realize that I had a "hidden" filter! Rich walked me through each step of checking and cleaning it. He gave me friendly advice about how and what to check for in the future. I was so pleased to find this local specialty Dyson repair center when my Dyson V14 vacuum decided to stop working. I went there with the hope they would be able to help me thinking I would have to leave it there for days and would prob be a fortune to fix. Walter the older man with white hair was the sweetest man ever, was so nice to me and my kid as we waited. He was able to replace a major part of the vacuum and put it under the warranty and replaced for me for free and within 10 mins!!!! When my Dyson V 11 Animal started working inconsistently I found this Dyson Service Center via an online search. I noticed the peculiar hours in which Thursday was the only day they remain open late (last pick-up or drop-off is 4:30 pm), so I contacted them via email to inquire about the repair process. John Baretsky sent a polite, informative response, and I brought the vacuum cleaner in for repair today. The repair shop itself is in a funky factory warehouse location with a few twists and turns, but you could access it using a GPS. The technician tried to do a "quick fix" with a screw, but to no avail. He found my unit was out of warranty and informed me it was an electrical issue that could be fixed on the spot for $180. I decided that made sense considering a new Dyson unit could cost three times that amount or more. He completed the repair work in under 20 minutes, and after tax the bill came out to around $200. I felt it was reasonable considering Dyson is a reputable brand, and he provided a new six-month warranty on the unit. I had a good experience here and would return, although hopefully I won't need to. read more

I haven't spent so much on a blow dryer before, and thinking Dyson was a reputable company I decided to purchase the supersonic.... Only for it to come defective. Of course I reached out to customer support online first, but they didn't have the piece in stock. Rather, it was backordered. While helpful, the support agent told me to come to this service center to complete a full exchange. I arrived at this center and was helped by an UNHELPFUL gentlemen who didn't seem like he: 1. Wanted to help customers 2. Kept refusing to help me with anything - "We don't have that here" - "that's the newest model and we don't carry that here" - "Those customer service agents are in their pajamas and doing everything they can to tell you to get you off the line" .... while you appear to be doing the SAME exact thing in person. Disgusting attitude and statements. Rude, and extremely UNHELPFUL. I got nothing done coming here. Don't come here. Don't waste your time. There is a clear DISCREPANCY between the online support and this worker's attitude and knowledge at the service center here. I checked the Plainview service center website for the filter I needed for my Dyson V8. The website said the part was in stock and it was $11.99. At the service center, they had the part but they wanted $33 for it. I said the website shows $11.99. They started explaining that that's the website and not the store. I don't care if you advertise that you have the part for 11.99 on your location's website then that's what you should sell it at in your location's store. Never purchase a product directly from Dyson. They have the WORST return policy ever. I paid nearly $800 for 2 vacuum cleaners. I returned one unopened a few days later. The other one was to be mailed to me. One month later I have not received the one that was supposed to be mailed nor had I received a refund for the one I returned. I canceled the second order out of frustration. They will not refund the $ until 60 days. I have no Dyson vacuum and I'm still out $800 for almost 2 months now and still waiting!!!! All the calls I made have not made a difference. I am continually told to wait. Terrible business. Their vacuum cleaners suck in a good way but their return policy sucks in the worst way. I recommend if you want a Dyson, purchase from a 2nd party like Amazon, Target or Walmart etc. they refund when you return. read more

Complete waste of time. Spent too much on a Dyson Air Purifier in October of 2019. It has a cool looking design, but I am not sure that it works any better than smaller and less expensive brands with HEPA filters. Drove all the way there for a repair during my work break, only to be told that they were closed for lunch (which it does not say on the website), even to just accept an item for repair. It is probably less expensive to buy a newer model of a different brand than to repair this one. On the phone with Dyson I was already being encouraged to use my discount to buy another one... I suspect these units are overpriced because of their visual look. Once the warranty expires, you are pretty much out of luck. read more

Wish they have weekend hours but they only have weekdays with late hours on Thu. No appointment needed but better to call ahead to make sure they're open. The store is located towards the far end of the parking lot on the left when driving in. The customers enter a small service area with is standing room only. Wait could get long if there's someone ahead of you, as there's only one person up front helping customers. Frankly coming this far (if you don't live nearby) IMO makes most sense if you have a vacuum that's still within the 5 yr warranty. Not accusing them of any funny business, but as a tip when you come in for repair, you could be asked what's your max repair budget (hmm...). Smart reply is to say let them tell you how much the repair cost is first then you'll think about it. They may be incentivized to sell the new vacuums that they carry on site. For example, if you say your repair max budget is $100, don't be surprised that the repair cost happens to be $150, therefore you opt to buy a $350 vacuum instead. read more

Dropped off my problematic Animal-25 late on a Thursday night, because that's the only evening the store is open until 8p. (I WISH they had weekend hours!). Before I left, they scoped out the problem and told me the price. I came back the next day, and it was fixed at the price quoted. One thing -- make sure you have GPS to find this place. I can't believe the great customer service in this business. Brought my vacuum because it was not picking up the way it should. Have always been happy with it but lately the performance has deteriorated. I saw Rich and explained the situation. unbelievably he actually tested it out and asked if I had 15 minutes to wait. After making an appointment online, I brought my Dyson Multi-floor upright in to repair a melted hose. The shop was immaculate. Check in was easy. The white-haired gentleman who checked me in was polite and organized. All the info from my registered vacuum was at his disposal as well as information from Dyson based on earlier communication I had regarding the repair. I was told me it might be an hour or more. But 30 minutes later I received a text that said the repair was complete. I was informed they fixed the hose, plus another problem which I thought was connected to the first, but wasn't. My vacuum now works like new and sounds better than ever. The same-day turn-around saved me time and gas money as well. I highly recommend this service center. read more

I received an email from Dyson alerting me that this new service centre had opened, and existing customers were being given a free health-check for any Dyson products they had through August 11th. Curious, I made the time to drive the 45 minutes out here and bring my fleet of 4 Dyson vacuums in for a proper inspection. Now - do note that this place is not easy to find. Drive down Newton until South Mall, and then pull in and drive *well* into the parking area and look on your left almost to the end of the row of buildings. Took me about 3 loops to get that right... Upon walking into the brightest and cleanest service shop I've ever seen, Richard came out of the back area, where I could spy a row of workbenches and shelves full of Dyson products. He introduced himself, and asked how he could help, offering to help me with the vacuums from my car. I introduced him to the devices, told him which ones were giving me trouble versus which ones just needed a once-over, and he asked me to have a seat while he gave them all a once-over. It's a kinda small waiting area, with a shelf that can double as a seat, and you will be surrounded by some good demo units as well as entertained by a really interesting reel from Dyson showing how they design and build their vacuums. There's also a little bowl of chocolates which I found nigh-on irresistible (sorry!) and munched for the 20 minutes or so it took to work through the 4 vacs. Rich came back and gave me a rundown on each vacuum, telling me plainly that one had a burnt-out motor, and another had a motor which was on its last legs (thus the vibration whenever it was used). He quoted me $170 to replace the motor housing, or offered me 20% off the $190 upgraded handheld as a trade-in value, and I'd also get a free car kit. Umm...wow! I already had a new handheld, so I'm taking those two dead handhelds back for an exchange in the future when I need yet another Dyson, which may be some years down the road because the other two units checked out clean and didn't have anything wrong with them (even though my canister-vac is nearly 10 years old). Rich is very clear and upfront, not a salesman but an honest individual who will tell you if something really needs repairing, how much it will cost, and whether it is really worth it for you to repair. I hope that I don't break another Dyson, but if I do, I am glad this place is now open for me to get service at. Hey, I may just buy another here at the discounts they offer! read more

About a month ago I went in for a repair and got nothing but insulting, abusive and flippant responses. He refused to write down our complaints and tried to pin the issue the vacuum was having on us. This is our 6th Dyson product and we are very familiar with how they work. How can someone like this still be working for a renowned company like Dyson? Just looking back thru reviews, it seems this same manager has been an issue for a while !! In the past, we would bring in our vacuums, and they would come out looking like brand new with parts changed that we didn't even know needed changing. This time when I picked up my machine, it was still dirty and the roller hadn't even been wiped. Unacceptable and intolerable for a company that's supposed to pride themselves on customer service. The worst!! I don't know who the guy is in the dyson service center in Plainview but he was so NOT helpful. I felt like I was bothering him. He would not look at my dyson blow dryer because I took the serial number tag off. So I called dyson while I was there and got the serial number and he still wouldn't help me. Had I known that I needed to have that tag I would have looked for the box or tried to get one from Dyson. BUT they never answer their phone!!! You can only make an appointment online and wait at least a month before you can even get the appointment. So if you have a question or need some guidance, forget it. I accidentally knocked my Dyson vacuum cleaner off my counter breaking the main part off from the motor. I googled Dyson repairs and found Dyson Service Center in Plainview and bought it there. I dropped it off and that afternoon I got a text telling me it was ready to be picked up. When I went to pick it up Rich the manager came out and handed me my vacuum and told me okay you're all set. My Dyson started acting up so i tried to to solve the problem myself and couldn't do it so i looked up an authorized service center to get my Vacuum repaired. I literally walked in and Rich the technician took my machine in and immediately started working on it. Took more than hour to drive out here from the city, but they did a diagnostic and fixed my vacuum (replaced a dead/dying battery) in about an hour or less, and got Dyson to extend the warranty since it had just expired, so the whole process was free of charge. just stating my dyson hot cold fan was dropped off there October 2021. ,months ago. Theses yoyos sent it back stating that we never got back to them regarding the price to repair. Now they tell her 34o something to repair. Meanwhile it was bought brand new for a total of 369. They finally get back to my granddaughter telling her the fan was refurbished and had a 6 month warranty. Due to the fact that I bought the machine off of HSN it certainly was not refurbished and it had a 2 year warranty. The H2 kept coming on when I tried to use the heater. Now before even going to this place which is recommended but Dyson. We called Dyson and they stated the warranty had just expired in September of 2021. Mind you it was bought October of 2020. Now you try to call these folks and they never answer the phone on the website. You leave umpteen messages and they still do not get back to you. I even called Dyson customer service but just so you know they do not keep a record of calls regarding complaints about your product. So this much I will say Dyson has lost a customer and their product has been having this H2 problem with the hot and cold fan and they fully know it there should be no charge for repair but we must keep their worthless plain view.
