The location was much smaller in 2013 but the core values of the gym is what made this place special then and those values still remain today. Walking into a boxing gym can be a daunting experience and alot of gyms are known for hazing new fighters in a way that could be unsafe. The EQBC experience happens to be the furthest thing from that, from the coaches to a fighters this gym is built on an environment that is cultivated around teamwork and personal development. From the most experienced fighter to the least experienced all members have a level of respect for others and the sport of boxing that make this gym truly special. Frankly speaking most gyms in NYC are money grabs with classes being taught by "trainers" who wouldnt know who Ali was if they were having lunch with him. EQBC is different, EQBC is the standard for real boxing gyms , where real fighters are made.

This gym has been an excellent experience!!! I brought my…read more5-year-old son here to learn how to move his body. I believe learning how to box is an art and most of the principles of learning how to box coincide with life principles. I have seen my son thrive and progressively change. Learning how to box is difficult!  Finding a good coach is also hard but I believe we have found our coach, coach Nabeel. I see how coach Nabeel engages with my son and gets into his head, only some can coach children and he is one of the best. Coach Nabeel makes him stronger and makes him believe in himself. Coach Nabeel is doing a great job!! My son is learning discipline. He looks around at all the other individuals in the gym that work hard, and he feeds off their energy. This gym is not for the sluggish -so if your ready to work, sign up!!!! Everyone is nice and in their own way they all have something to teach, if you're willing to learn. Thank you, Eastern Queens Boxing Club, from a very happy parent.

Warning: This May No Longer Be a True Women's-Only Safe Space…read more I joined this location because it was advertised as a women's-only space, which was very important to me for personal, and religious reasons. However, I've noticed -- and discussed with a few other women -- that male clients have been brought into the workout area during scheduled women's classes, often as part of private or small-group training sessions run by coaches. This has happened in the same room where full classes are taking place, making the space crowded and uncomfortable for paying clients who expected a women-only environment. While this location doesn't require contracts, the membership is expensive, and it feels misleading to continue marketing the space as women-only while this is happening. If you are looking for a women's-only space for religious or personal reasons, please be aware that this may no longer be the case. Allowing this to continue without informing clients or giving them a say is not only inconsiderate -- it's ethically and morally wrong.

My partner visited Dream Body to learn more about their membership options, and she had a fantastic…read moreexperience with the staff. Everyone was genuinely kind, welcoming, and created a great atmosphere. The gym itself seems like a wonderful space, and the fact that it's women-only is a big plus. However, when she inquired about pricing, she was quoted $450 per month, which is very close to $500, for access to both their workout rooms--one for free weights and the other for weighted machines. That price seemed extremely high. They did mention a current special at $250 per month, which is more reasonable, but unfortunately, still beyond our budget. I completely understand that businesses need to make a profit, and people should invest in their health. However, a price tag of nearly $500 per month for access to both workout rooms feels excessive. It's disappointing because it almost seems like the exclusivity of being a women-only space is being used to justify the high price. A supportive, empowering gym should ideally be accessible to more women, not just those who can afford a premium price tag. If the pricing were more reasonable, I have no doubt this would be an amazing place to work out. Hopefully, they consider offering more flexible or affordable membership options in the future

I was a working single mom in my late 30s at the time. I became a regular customer three mornings a week, and by the time I turned 40 I was in the best shape of my life -- thanks to BBB. I went there for years. I am now retired, remarried and I live in New Mexico. This morning, as I was getting ready to go to our community gym, I thought about BODY BY BERLE all those years ago. I mentioned to my husband what a great trainer Richard Berle was -- as were the other trainers I'd worked with there, and how I wished there were some place even remotely similar to that here where we live now. (There isn't). Then I googled to see if Body by Berle was still around, and I am SO happy to see that it still is! BBB's customers are very lucky! They are getting the very best fitness training there is! I never experienced a fitness program as good as that one -- anywhere. Which is what prompted me to write this review.
