I rarely leave…read morenegative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others about my experience with Good Tee Day.
On June 19, I called to inquire about embroidery services for an upcoming event. I explained how important these items were and how stressed I was trying to find someone reliable. I also mentioned that he came highly recommended by another screen-printing company that I had done successful business with in the past.
Looking back, the first red flag was the phone call. He was vague and didn't inspire much confidence. However, when I arrived at the store in Wheaton Mall (which was difficult to find), his entire demeanor changed. He was overly confident, saying things like, "Oh yeah, I can do that," "Name your price," and "I'm going to bang that out for you, my friend." Based on those assurances, we agreed that my order would be ready for pickup on June 30.
June 30 came and went with no communication.
Between July 3 and July 6, I called numerous times from multiple phone numbers and sent several text messages asking for an update. Most of my attempts went unanswered.
When I finally reached him, he asked for an extension, claiming he had been under the weather and saying he had no way to contact me because he couldn't associate the items with a customer. That was simply not true. We had been communicating by text the entire time.
To make matters worse, he repeatedly made promises he never intended to keep. He told me he would personally deliver the items to me because of the inconvenience. That never happened.
On July 5, I drove to the shop only to find it closed.
On July 6, he told me he would come into the shop overnight, finish the embroidery, and bring the completed items to me. Again, that never happened.
By July 7, I went to retrieve my items because I had completely lost confidence. He begged me to let him make it right and promised he would overnight the finished items to my event in Chicago at no charge because he knew how badly he had inconvenienced me. I even recorded this conversation for my own protection. While I was in Chicago, I reached out again for an update and received no response.
Today, July 14, I returned to the shop one final time. He immediately apologized, but at that point the apology meant nothing. I told him to save it. He said he didn't want to argue and simply handed me my items exactly as I had originally dropped them off--completely untouched after nearly a month.
This wasn't just poor customer service. It was dishonesty, broken promises, and a complete lack of professionalism. If he couldn't complete the job, all he had to do was be honest so I could have found someone else. Instead, he repeatedly wasted my time, ignored my calls and messages, and caused unnecessary stress for an event that was extremely important to me.
I would not recommend Good Tee Day to anyone working under a deadline. Reliability and communication matter, and unfortunately, my experience reflected neither. Businesses that recommend Good Tee Day should reconsider, because experiences like mine ultimately reflect poorly on them as well.
