Hello how much do you charge for haircuts? I am looking for a trim but I want to get some bangs as well?

Our haircuts start at $65 and vary upon stylists.

How much to go platinum?

Going platinum would be considered a color correction which requires a complimentary consultation with one of our stylists.

How much is balayage and what treatments does it come with or does it come with no treatments?

Balayage starts at $150 and treatments vary depending on stylists. You’re more than welcome to set up a complimentary consultation and get better details.

This was, without exaggeration, the worst haircut I have ever received. Jackie Martínez completely missed the mark on what I asked for, and the end result was so poor that it's honestly shocking--just look at the photos and judge for yourself. What's even more unacceptable is the complete lack of accountability. I emailed Jackie directly, included clear photos of the damage, and requested a refund of the $140 I paid--giving her a fair opportunity to respond and make things right. She ignored me entirely. I was never offered my money back, nor did I receive any response or apology. I then escalated the issue to the salon. While they did apologize and offered a complimentary haircut with a top stylist, by that point the trust was gone. I declined, because I should not have to risk further disappointment or spend more time fixing a mistake that never should have happened. Between the poor quality of the haircut and the total lack of professionalism and customer care, this experience was beyond frustrating--it was unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering booking with Jackie. read more

Why doesn't my review show for Salon 9?? Well in any case here it is, Yelp will only work if you get to see all reviews good and bad. I went in with high hopes based on the reviews on here, met with Kathryn Gilbert and asked for a cut color and partial highlight. Kathryn was nice enough and seemed to listen intently to what I wanted, which made me feel at ease. So, I was disappointed when what I ended up wasn't what I expected at all. My hair color went from a medium brown to a reddish brown with oragey yellow highlights. After the color and highlights, she used the razor method to cut it which was probably not a good idea, I ended up with a fuzzy, uneven hair cut that has no balance or real shape. When I pull my hair back on one side my highlights were about an inch away from my hairline. Also, my bangs were too short and I even had to point out where my hair ended up longer on one side vs the other. On top of it all I paid $125 dollars, needless to say I won't be going back... read more

Since 2009 started, I've gotten my hair cut three times. And every time my hair was in the hands of the lovely Kathryn Gilbert at the hip looking Salon 9. The place has space, tons of busy stylists, and blown up pop art that adds to the mood. If your anything like me, you don't want to waste more than 5 minutes on your hair, but still look bad ass. I went to Katie as a blank canvas, and left looking like an edgy art piece...with bangs. When you're describing the look you want, her eyes pop open and she's just as excited as you are. If it's the "get-up-and-go" look you desire, then do not hesitate to book an appointment with her. Another pretty cool thing is that your hair clippings are donated to Matter of Trust that uses extra hair to make mats that absorb oil from oil spills. Well, go and see it for yourself. So I have been going to Salon 9 for a few years now, and my Hair Artist Eman Sauceda is the best I have ever had. His skills are impeccable and his eye for edge is spot on. I have had good Hairstylists in the past, but Eman is by far the best. Hes very friendly,accomodating,and also very entertaining. He always listens and gives me exactly what i ask for. I refer all my friends and coworkers to him and always receive praise. If your in need of a cut ,color ,curl, updo, Brazilian Blowout,etc hes got you covered. I just recently had a photo shoot and used Eman for all my Models, and he really came through. His rates are very reasonable and he also brought an assistant which made the shoot that much smoother. Where to begin? Eman Sauceda is the epitome of a dream hairdresser. His accuracy and precision is absolutely inevitable when cutting your hair. He will always makes sure he knows exactly what you want done to your hair before he begins snipping away. Eman is very passionate about hair dressing and can incorporate creativity and uniqueness into all his work - something many hairdressers are not capable of doing. Also, Eman Sauceda is such a character; you will never have a boring visit. I am always continuously laughing at his silliness and wittiness during my visits at Salon 9. its been around two years since Ive been coming down to orange county just to get my hair done by eman. over the past two years Ive done everything from extensions to major color corrections... black to blond... long hair to short hair.... and i don't think this would be possible without him. till this day eman still does the greatest job. hes always in a good mood and I'm always pleased by the way he treats me. i constantly leave the salon feeling and looking fresh. i also love the fact that this is a bumble&bumble salon and that eman went to the school out in NY because he always advocates the best products. I am a long-time customer of McKenzie Penhall, and I absolutely love her. I am terribly fickle when it comes to my hair, and I'm always looking for something new...but I never know what it is! McKenzie is always great about coming up with ideas for my hair, but never pushes them on me (even though I always go with them!). She is very in-tune with what her clients are looking for and even more in-tune with what will make them look fabulous. Salon 9 has a great vibe, and everyone there is very friendly. I had an amazing experience at this salon! From the moment I walked in, the staff was so welcoming and friendly. My stylist, Jimmie, took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted for both my haircut and extensions, and he totally nailed it. I recently got my hair colored and cut by Amanda @ Salon 9. She did an amazing job on my hair. The perfect blonde shade & I feel in love with the cut. I went very short and was nervous. But Amanda walked me through it, showing me pics and finding out exactly what I wanted. She also was very easy to talk to. Truly one of the best salons! I came upon this place when I moved to the area in summer of 2017. At the time my hair was very damaged and had stopped growing. Hair stylist Jeanna has been instrumental in rehabilitating my hair. The color is beautiful, the cut is amazing, and my hair has never looked healthier. I'm pretty stoked on Salon 9. I've been getting my haircut there for about a year or two now, and I'm always pleased. Katie Hedges does a great job at cutting hair, and keeps the conversations relevant. Time seems to fly by during what normally is a pretty boring event. She's genuine, and doesn't pressure you into a style or product you don't want. In the past, I'd cut my own hair to save money, but now I'm willing to spend the money to get a quality cut. read more

I wanted to share my honest experience because my recent visit was pretty disappointing. The main…read moreissue was that the hair service itself just didn't turn out as requested and fell short of expectations. On top of that, sitting in the chair felt pretty awkward towards the end--there was a clear, unsettling tension between the stylist and her assistant while my hair was being done that made the appointment uncomfortable to sit through. Given she was working on my self and 1 other client at the same time. When I messaged her privately to share how things went and how unsatisfied I was with my hair, her reply felt a bit defensive & dismissive. I waited a week to decide to speak up or make any remarks regarding my service in hopes that I just had to period of adjusting to my hair. Instead of fully understanding my concerns about the service, she gave explanations and shifted focus on justifying the dynamic with her assistant and offered a 25% refund ($38.75) for a $150+ service. While I did not expect a full refund as she still did render services, I at least would have appreciate a refund for half my service. Given the outcome of my hair and the overall experience, that refund felt unfair and sadly the response from her was just not as anticipated. I already make the 40 minute drive to come down here since I've had a great experience before so I couldn't justify coming back down to do any adjustments given the experience. I had to go somewhere local to adjust my face framed curtain bangs as walking around with hair that makes you feel uncomfortable is a horrible feeling. That alone was $40 to adjust on top of what was spent here. It's tough when you decide to speak out about your experience directly with any stylist and get met with defensive or unexpected responses. I sadly won't be returning, as I grew my hair out for 7 months and decided to come here just to be met with a unsatisfied outcome and even worse response to my experience. Overall more disappointed and saddened by this than angry. I wish it could have gone a lot better.

Worst hair appointment I've had in my 29 years of my life!…read more I was about 10 min late. Todd was directly and overtly grumpy about it and proceeded to rush the entire appointment. Look, customers CAN be late and things HAPPEN, and the employee should not PUNISH the client like that or make them feel guilty about it passive aggressively. Then, he MADE me put on a robe, whereas other hair designers put it on for you. He only put a white towel on my neck but nothing else on top to protect my clothing. There was a chair, so I did not understand why I had to be standing up while he cut my hair. And then he made me BRUSH MY OWN HAIR for distributing oil. Wtf?! I asked for ASH BLONDE colour because I want to lighten while minimizing the redness from my black hair, and he didn't tell me what colour he used, but my hair looks exactly the same black. Second wtf?! My white t-shirt was RUINED and WET with hair dye on the back of my neck as well as parts of my skin were stained with hair dye for days and my skin was hurt from trying to scrub if off. I asked for credit card payment before the appointment and that was the agreement, but he made me pay Zelle or Venmo when it came time for payment. Then he still asked me how much tip I will pay because he has to write it down. I couldn't believe he pressured a customer to pay the tip even though he didn't even phrase it that way. Now I can't even dispute the transaction with my bank because I had to pay over Zelle. It was a coupon price of $65 which was 48% off, but I really just should have gotten just a $35 haircut for the coupon price. My hair colour looks exactly the same as my original hair colour. Like how the heck does that happen? I would have thought someone who's been a licensed cosmetologist since 1980s would be more knowledgeable and more competent than this, so I am shocked. I can't wait to start visiting Korea every year again where hair designers are actually competent and knowledgeable and premium service is the norm. I always do a round of healthcare AND cosmetics when I go back, not here. If I have to do my hair again here in the future, I will be looking for a Korean hair designer who actually knows what they are doing and able to make the customer's request come to life.
