Absolutely love this location. This is the biggest DXL store that we have found in the Houston area with the best selection. Upon walking in, we were instantly greeted by the salesperson. I wish I had caught her name because she was delightful. Hubs mentioned our trouble finding a specific item in his size and she found it instantly! After that, we wandered the store and found the Pride section (I haven't seen that at any of the other locations), and some great swanky suits for special events. They also had several absolutely lovely Robert Graham shirts that I'm definitely going to save up for. The only downside of any DXL is the price. If you're on a budget, this is a flex, but the materials are great and clothing will last. read more

Good selection of clothing for bigger gentlemen even though prices are high and the refund policy enforcement is a joke at this location. I tried some jeans on at home. I walked in them a little in my home and noticed they were just too big. My wife tried to return them and a big tall African American gentleman named Malcom (at least that's what it says on the receipt) refused to return them because of some wrinkles behind the knees from sitting in them. He said they were worn. From my understanding worn is when clothing is damaged from use and unsellable. That would mean that anything you try on in store is "worn". Ive never had any problems returning things at any other Casual Male XL or Destination XL before. This will be the last time I shop at this location. Side Note: Customer Service is a bit on the pushy side. The guy kept following me around as I decided what I wanted. I'm a grown man, if I needed help I would have asked. He even walked me to the dressing room. To some it may be good service, to me it's annoying. read more

Best off the rack clothing store in Houston for me. As someone larger around the middle and shorter than many men (5'6"), stores that carry what I need which fit me especially when it comes to suits and sports coats is limited elsewhere in town. This is a Men's clothing store for big and tall guys which is not inexpensive and not overpriced at the same time. Saleswoman Judy has been extremely very helpful to me during my visits to Destination XL. My attempts at building a decent wardrobe were failing spectacularly until the day I walked into Destination XL and met her. Judy goes above and beyond as a salesperson by not wanting me to leave until she is positive I am happy and have what I need. This is a really good store. Try DXL out and you may be pleasantly surprised at what you find from suits to smart casual clothing, ties, shoes, belts and undergarments. After spending many disheartening hours looking through various stores at the galleria and having absolutely no luck, we decided to try DXL as a last-ditch effort. We had a fantastic experience here. I went in needing a full suit, shirt, and shoes for under $500. To make things even more difficult, we needed them for an event the next day. Ben helped us-- he was extremely knowledgeable and kind. He took one look at me and knew exactly what size I needed for my jacket, shirt, and pants. They are extremely professional and I was so impressed. I cannot recommend them enough. If you are looking for stylish threads and you don't have a budget this is the store for you. Really, things are rather expensive compared to other big and tall stores but it's the location. You can find a few bargin deals but for the most part expect to spend $100 minimum per trip. They have a great Robert Graham and Polo selection. Also, they have all the best designer jeans and go to stupid high sizes; like 10x and 70" waist. The sales people are always very nice and accommodating. I'm not sure if they work on commission or not but the are so attentive it makes me wonder. From beach wear to suits and ties this place has it all. I love this store! Unfortunately, this place is just a bit out of my budget so I don't shop here too regularly but I know that if I need something specific, they will have it and in my size! I went in just recently to purchase a suit. Chevis immediately came to my assistance. I needed an entire business professional outfit and realized when I got there that I didn't even have a nice button down shirt! Chevis helped me through my entire visit! He helped me find a suit jacket that fit almost perfectly (just needs a little tailoring) and then proceeded to help me find everything else down to the socks and shoes! I had explained to him that I was on a tight budget but definitely needed something nice. After the entire visit and answering all of my questions with a smile on his face, he even did some digging and figured out that the jacket was 50% off!! 5 stars all the way for this amazing assistant manager! Last minute shopping for my boyfriends birthday and came in to buy an outfit for him. Enrique was super helpful and educated me on the difference between XLG and XLT I almost left with a tall size. I was on the hunt for a maroon colored polo and when I couldn't find one in the size I needed Enrique asked me to wait a second, minutes later he came out from the back with a maroon polo in the size I needed!! Finally, a place for the big/tall man with style. Timeless brands like Polo, Levis, Lacoste, etc. all the way up to high fashion like Michael Kors and Robert Graham. What used to be hit or miss in the various big and tall sections of the department stores is now all in one place and generally well stocked. I usually need something right then and there, but if you're the plan ahead type you can even shop online and have it delivered to the store. The staff is eager to help (VERY eager) and they also have a good rewards program. They send me some pretty good deals through e-mail; however, because it's a few companies in one, I sometimes get bombarded with irrelevant offers. Other than tall tees (they have those too), this is pretty much the only place I shop now. read more

I'm a large, black male who's been shopping at Casual Male/Destination XL for about two decades. I went to this store Saturday evening and had the most unpleasant experience. I entered the store and a lady named Shelby asked if I needed help. I told her no, as I like shopping for undergarments privately. She proceeded to follow me around the store. I gave her a look, to imply that I was annoyed by her following me, and she stopped, only to pop up on the other side of the store to watch me from afar, while "fixing" some shirts. She kept following me. After I made my purchase, I told the manager, Greg, about my experience and the discomfort I felt being followed and stared at during my purchase, and he made excuses for her, instead of simply apologizing for her actions. I will NEVER go back to this store again. I prefer KingSizeDirect, where I can shop peacefully. read more
