The psychology is to force abandonment of rational decisions and lead you to the conclusion that it makes sense to buy more than one pair to get you past indecisiveness. Don't worry. You are saving money, too. I fought off the urge to splurge and went with Aldo wingtips. Good fit. The cashier approved. Will need to find the right color shoe cream to keep them looking spiffy. Some of the in-store text VIP coupons are gimmicks in that you get $10 off of shoes $65 and up. So what do you find in that range? Shoes are $64.99, so you can't use the coupon. We are VIP members, so I went to the counter with the $64.99 shoes and asked if there are any discounts at all for these shoes for VIP. The woman just gave a non answer, "I don't know, they are all different". No help at all. So if you want a discount, search for the shoes that you want in the store, try them on to be sure you want them. Then, search for online coupons, then sign into your VIP account, then enter any code that works, and as a VIP member, you should get free shipping. So the shoes we wanted went from $64.99 with no discount help at all in store, to $42.24 for the same shoes online.

If you can't find what you want, then make your way to the outlet malls for your favorite brand shop. I found several suitable pair of work boots by Wolverine at very good discounts. The two women working the floor were friendly and helpful in finding alternatives and answering specific questions about waterproofing and non-slip souls. The one I spoke with even went online to find out something I inquired about for which she did not have a ready answer. There are also a lot of Nikes for all sorts of sports and walking. The only weakness appeared to be in the men's dress shoe area, where there was not much to look at. Other than that, the experience at Famous Footwear was a positive and consuming one.

You can never go wrong at the Sal…read more Every time I'm shopping for costume pieces for Halloween or some crazy theme party -- I do well here. New stuff is always coming in, that's clean and in really great shape. They keep the place pretty clean for a thrift store - and the place is HUGE. It's got clothing of all kinds, furniture, household items, accessories and season items. You can find not-costume clothing here as well - I've found great jeans, and the occasional awesomely random t-shirt to rock or even clothes suitable for work. They could use a few extra fitting rooms - but the ones they have are well lit & clean. Also -- large/usually clean bathrooms, FTW! Bonus! Check out half price Wednesdays when certain colored tags are suddenly half price! This doesn't include belts, shoes, or certain other items, but it's still a ridiculous deal! This location really should've been allowed to start a new Yelp page after they moved the store…read morefrom Langhorne to Fairless Hills, because I've seen so much improvement. I had been to the Langhorne store many times during the 9 or 10 years that it was there, and both the clothes and the customer service were spotty, at best. However, since they've moved the store to a much larger spot in Fairless Hills, I've seen vast improvements. First and foremost, their new location is at least triple the size of the old one. The aisles are spaced out and I don't feel like I'm right on top of other shoppers like I did at the old store. The new location is also more family friendly, as the aisles are now large enough to bring strollers down. Furthermore, it seems as though they are being more selective about the clothes and accessories that they buy, which is a good thing. At the old store, I often found clothes with stains, holes, or that just generally looked very worn. It appears that they donated many clothes before the move and also stockpiled new, name-brand items for awhile before the move, too, since most of their clothes now appear to be in good condition. In fact, during the opening weekend, I found many name-brand styles (Nike, VS Pink, American Eagle, etc.) that were New with tags still attached. Finally, their customer service has improved recently. The employees are much more upbeat and helpful than the ones of the past. Plato's, keep up the good work. You can only go up from here.
